My husband and I have banked with Affinity for many years. We stopped at the Lakeville office to make some account updates that needed to be done in person. Katrina got everything taken care of quickly and professionally. She was kind, helpful and took care of us even though it meant staying after the lobby closed at 4 which was very much appreciated! We love Banking with Affinity. We have and we will continue to recommend banking with Affinity to anyone!

    Response from the owner

We're very happy to have provided you with such a positive experience! We look forward to your next visit. Take care! ^ashley

Only reason i have 1 star is because the banks are only open 3 days out the week.. Thats very inconvenient to everyone who puts there trust and money into the bank. Please open back up to 5 days a week, all of us are depending on our credit union MONDAY-FRIDAY. Thanks!

    Response from the owner

Thank you for sharing your feedback, Nati. We'll share it with branch leadership. Please note that the drive-thru at the Lakeville branch is open Monday through Saturday. ^ashley

When had just relocated to the Lakeville area and were looking to open an account with a local credit union. We banked with a credit union where we moved from and were looking to refinance our car loans and deposit accounts to somewhere local and decided on Affinity because of the positive reviews. We walked into the Lakeville branch and asked to talk with someone about becoming a member and opening an account. We were aware there would probably be a deposit required to open an account and had no problem with waiting or calling back for an appointment because we knew we had stopped in without one. The first teller we talked with was helpful and said she would see if anyone was available. Another teller came up beside her and proceeded to tell us in a condescending tone that we would have to “apply” to become a member. Then proceeded to ask me and my husband where we are going to school (students must get a discount?? But we are both graduated from college and in our 30’s with 4 kids) We must have looked too young to her to understand how this whole “banking” thing worked so she proceeded in a condescending way to instruct us on how a bank works and that we would have to provide a deposit and made it seem like $25 was going to be too much and should probably just come back when we were more ready. Then she came back and said no one could help us for a few hours anyway. These are just a couple example of what she said. Honestly we got the impression from her that if we weren’t already a member it’s a big hassle to sign up and we should try again some other time. Her assumptions had us feeling discriminated against and we have since opened an account and refinanced our loans elsewhere. Would not recommend

Today was my last day dealing with Affinity Plus! High Five! Customer service is G.O.N.E. Was with AP for 15 years and the last 2 years have become horrendous. From obscene lending qualifications to ridiculous services/service fees/or just a lack of service. Today, I had to drive from Richfield to Lakeville to pay off my loan bc AP does not accept any single transaction ACH, nor do they accept mastercard debit; only Visa. Super fun for me! At rush hour. Cause they close at 6pm. And have no convenient locations other than the east metro. When I called the 3, yes 3 times, the people i spoke with had no other options for me other than to drive down and pay or wait until January and febuary to pay the balance. Wow, do you want my money? After driving down, paying off the loan, emptying the rest of checking, i asked "Tawnya" if they could have just changed my payment date to tomorrow. "Yes we could have" Awesome! The 3 times i called trying to figure it out and nobody came up with that, but me, when im closing my account, in person, after 3 calls. Then she proceeded to shrug her shoulders and walk away from the drive through. What a peach! Peace the *bleep* out AP!! Gawd that felt GOOD!!

Credit unions are the way to go. Low fees (if any), lower rates on loans. I get a VERY good rate on a fixed mortgage and a refinance here, and have had checking and savings accounts with them for years.

I've been a member for a long time and had nothing but great experiences with AP. They are SO much better than standard banks like Wells Fargo who just rob you blind with all the fees they charge. I like AP so much that I refinanced my mortgage with them recently. Highly recommended.

    Response from the owner

Thank you, Jeff! And congrats on your refi! We're so glad you've had great experiences here. We can't wait for your next visit. Have a great day! ^ashley

Poor communication/organizational skills throughout this entire company. GO SOMEWHERE ELSE. My fiancee took out a car loan here and instantly signed up for autopay. After 2 months payment they sent a letter and called saying they still haven't received payment from us. Even though its automatically come out of our account both months. Then another month goes by they started charging us 100 dollars extra each month because they had lost the insurance information we had sent to them 3 separate times. Then today they called saying she is at risk of repossession because they failed to mention to us that they need to verify our tabs on the car are up to date. On top of that its been 7 months since opening the loan and we still haven't received the new title yet, we're just assuming Affinity lost the title we gave them. Currently shopping around to find a different bank or credit union.

My whole extended family banks with Affinity Plus, we’re big fans. I finally convinced my best friend to make the switch last year and she couldn’t be happier! The service from Affinity Plus is second to none!

    Response from the owner

Elizabeth May, thank you for being an advocate of Affinity Plus. We're so glad your family and friends made the switch! ^ashley

I love Affinity plus as a whole but I was just in the bank on Wednesday and as I went up to the teller line the only teller there just walked away and there were two just standing in the back talking. I was waiting for about 5 minutes before another customer had walked up to the teller line to get someone to come out and help. Very poor service! I work at a bank myself and expect to have the tellers be prompt and courteous and this was not the case!

Don’t waste your time with affinity, they are not interested in helping new members out, their website, window signs and flyers are all false advertisement.. based on conversation with few current members, they’re interested in your money that you deposit that they can turn for profit. Don’t expect much, maybe shop around before committing to them.
