I had a payroll check from my job that I had recently quit and I spent the entire day looking for an establishment to cash it and no one could: Walmart, HEB, PayPal Cash Checking Services — absolutely no one. The HR department of that job told me the check was valid and there was no reason why I couldn’t cash it. ACE Cash Express was my last resort and I wish they had been my first option because the representative I worked with was able to cash my check within 30 minutes. All she had to do was verify my check through HR once and she cashed it. She saw how flustered I was because I had expressed to her that no one was able to cash it and it was upsetting me that no one was able to provide me a reason why. I wish I had asked for her name but she was absolutely lovely!
