Academy Bank W 65th St, Shawnee

There were 2 people there, but only one was working. Erin, who claimed to be a manager, was playing on her phone while a line piled up in front of the working teller. When approached, she was very annoyed at being spoken to by the lowly customers and immediately copped a hateful attitude. She told the people in line that if they were upset by the wait time, they should just use the ATM. She made sure to be clear that waiting for the teller was a choice everyone was making and therefore not her fault. God forbid she actually do any work. I'm not comfortable banking with an organization that feels that putting bigoted, lazy, hateful people in a position of authority is a good idea. I will NOT be back.

Seriously the most patient banks I’ve ever worked with been with them for years now. So helpful! Everyone who works there are so sweet. Appreciate everything they do!

The pro of this bank are the hours. The cons would be poor customer service. The only reasons people are even employed by this bank is to hand out candy and try to get new customers. The people direct you to use the ITM whenever you go up to them for help. Then if you need anything other then a simple withdrawal or deposit you have to asked at least THREE different times for the same thing. My husband and I asked closed our savings account and were told it was closed. It wan't. Asked another person to close it and turn off what prevented it from closing (savings cents) and they ASSURED me it would close; GUESS WHAT! It didn't. I hope the third times the charm.

If I could give them zero stars I would. All I want to do is get some rolled change and every time I go there, their teller “doesn’t have access” to the rolled change. What kind of bank has one teller at the desk who doesn’t have access to more than a couple dollars in change. Sounds like poor management to me.

Awesome place! The employees are very knowledgeable and helpful with whatever questions and concerns that I have. Always see a smiling face when I walk into the bank! Makes me very happy to have an account here!!!!

This rating is more for the ITM help, not the bank tellers in person. The two there pushed me over to the ITM as they were an hour from closing and "needed a manager to do any cash transactions". Which may be true but why would a manager not stay until close then? Anyways, I did get the help I needed from the machine, with a friendly person on the other end. He apologized for the wait while he retrieved information and then waited in return as I gathered my things back up to leave. His name is Ronald and I appreciate his customer service skills. And recommended all Academy branches have this system and better tellers working in person.

I closed my account once. Then had to open a new account because they did not disable direct deposit from my job. They would not give me my money. I had to open a new account and wait 2 days until I could access my funds. Unable to access money from check. Unnecessary overdrafts because THEY took money from checking into savings even though they could clearly see that it would overdraft my account.

This bank us horrible! I have banked here far longer than I intended to and been to..ther locations. I have NEVER been able to get through in uunder less than 20 minutes. On today's occasion the ATM was not giving cash back forcing me to endure the interaction with employees that do not wear name tags so I could not even tell you the positive feedback on the associate that helped me. The only 2 employees I've seen consistently are 2 men that do not come to help unless there is a long line. One man sat in the back room with a women while the other is always at his desk usually appearing to do nothing. Today he was talking with a bunch of teenage kids. Everyone there is one woman at the desk. I would much rather pay fees at another bank then continue to be a customer of this establishment.

Like the bank,, hate the weekend hours changed.
