Academy Bank W 133rd St, Kansas City

I have had nothing but amazing service with Academy bank. I have banked at 3 other banks in my life and NEVER got the service and help that I have received from Academy bank. I have been banking here now for 2 years and they always help me with anything I need from checking to personal loans..5 star crew...

They like to randomly hold mobile deposits for a week once every 60 days. They will lie that that they can cancel it. Wasted another hour trying to cash my check. Don't walk away from this bank. You better RUN!!!

Wonderful bank, they always help me as quick and get me taken care of. Haley is a wonderful person to work with when I’m having issues.

Worst customer service experience ever. I’ve just stood and waited over 30 minutes in line while two people worked on one account, split to help one of the two men open another account and then rejoined on the project without any relief of the ever growing line. I will be finding another bank after my experience today.

There were 4 woman working when I got there to make a simple check deposit, one lady was helping someone so I walked up to the next counter where another employee told me her register wasn't open so I'd have to wait, then she proceeded to fill the candy dishes and walk around the counter pretending to do something. And the other two woman were on another computer apparently helping the first employee figure out how to put names on a checking account. Are you kidding me?!? I left after 5 minutes in line, because I was in a hurry and figured a simple deposit was easy enough to do. I was wrong. Never going back to this location. May I suggest hiring some people with a brain..

Literally one of the few banks that will not actually help you but tell you to use tape or refer you to a Smart ATM for services. Glad I pay a banking fee every month for literally nothing. Might as well just buy a safe and keep using cash app and venmo for anything I need. Got change ? Go to a coin star. Have a partially ripped bill and need to do laundry? Use tape. Need to deposit cash? Use the Smart ATM. pointless. These people literally get paid to sit and do nothing.

This branch is honestly the best I’ve been to, while I was closing my account with them, they still were able to provide me amazing customer service and after the week I had and having a bad experience with an agent from beltons branch, the kindness I was shown won’t be forgotten and was very much appreciated.

This doesn't pertain to this location in general but the bank as a whole. They are very unprofessional and they said steal your money. I signed up for their savings cents saving account where everytime you make a purchase the bank rounds up the cents and puts them in a savings account. But sometimes this will happen a day or two after you make a purchase, even if you do not have extra funds for it. And you never know how much they will transfer over, they tell you they just round it up in cents but there has been times over three dollars has been transferred. It's crazy and unpredictable. You never know how much they are going to transfer or when it will come out so you never know how much money you have in your checking. They then proceed to transfer the money automatically and charge you a 25.00 overdraft fee when the money wasn't there. So basically your paying 25.00 bucks to transfer .50 to 5.00 to your savings. This bank also double charges your purchases and then takes days to correct it. I've only had this account for a few months and it's been nothing but a head ache. Don't go there, you can get better service elsewhere for the same type of business. I will be finding a new bank.

I have never had major issues with this bank. The only thing I would say is a negative is that it is only located inside of walmart. I like the fact that it is open 7 days a week. But other than that I have no issues with this bank. I had an ATM card with the wrong spelling of my last name, took it to the bank and it was fixed within 30 minutes.
