Able Pawn Shop Belvidere St, Waukegan

I love this shop, quick cash, friendly service, high quality items and best prices. I always leave there very satisfied! P.S. I remember I used to visit this store 5-6 years ago and the staff was extremely rude. Now, they are the nicest most helpful staff there is and it's the same staff that was rude to me years ago. Feels good as a costumer that they turned things around, this still is my #1 pawn shop to buy/sell items.

Staff was incredibly professional, this is a pleasurable business to work with if looking for jewelry. An overall great experience, I anticipate to come here again.

Bought a 14KT gold chain and come to find out it wasn’t real gold. I went back and did a demonstration on how I would know real from fake and, got my money back. Real gold doesn’t turn black. Also there testing bottles for “real gold” isn’t real, they use some water base products. Definitely a rip off . Will be reporting them for sale of fake gold. Got my money back once I went in and showed the dude two other reports stating the chain was FAKE . scam artists at the finest .

very rude upon entering the store, they look at you as if you are a thief than begin to question you as if you are on trial. they also wouldn't take anything older than 3 years which is just absurd. its obvious this place is on the verge of going out of business, good riddance.

TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE!!!! I came in searching for a smart TV and found one as soon as I came in, I had never purchased anything at a pawn shop before so I made sure I was well informed before ANY purchase was made. BEFORE I bought the TV I asked LARRY if I could return the TV if any issues were to come up and he said YES!!! That I could get my money back and everything and the next day I noticed on the receipt that it said no returns and all sales finals, I immediately called the pawn shop and store manager JOSE refused to give me my money back after HIS EMPLOYEE gave me the wrong information. Jose only offered me store credit. What am i supposed to do with $150 worth of store credit at a pawn shop??? And this being my first ever purchase in one isn’t it clear that I don’t shop there??? The customer CANNOT be to blame for something YOUR EMPLOYEE told them. NEVER going back.

I tried selling my switch lite and asked 100 from it. I thought it was a good deal there because the cost of it is about 180 pre-owned I thought I can get it... nope they wanted to give 70 which was a rip off. I didn't have a charger and they said if did they would of thought about it but nope. Then they laughed at my friend because he said they don't come with chargers which was true at first until they stared adding chargers later on. Like really don't disrespect my friend like that and took my busy elsewhere. P.s I was able to sell my switch for even more then what I asked for.

I used to love this spot! They were really welcoming & energetic! However, it's changed. Most of the employees have a negative attitude and you're treated like you're asking for a hand-out instead of EQUALLY exchanging services. I don't think anybody is proud of having to pawn something.. Why make your customer feel worse about it? I go to a different pawn shop now .. This place has changed!

I went in looking for a Cello for my 11 yr old daughter. They did not have one but after explaiNing her passion for music and needing a full size guitar they worked with me and explained difference on brands and quality of guitars, gave me a good deal as well as got me a great case. People very friendly and helpful. Have referred several of my daughters classmates parents to go check out their musical instruments.

I'll never go back there again after finding out what they charge for video games. It's supposed to be a pawn shop, not a retail store. For video games, they reseal everything so you cannot see the condition of the disc or whether it's complete with manual, inserts, etc. This is 2016 and charging $10 dollars for a regular Xbox game that came out in 2004...12 years old!!! NO THANKS. I'll continue to go to EZ Pawn and other resale shops. Maybe if they cut down on what they spend on radio ads, they'd have better prices???
