I have worked with John Ammon at West Penn Financial for almost 3 years during our home search. Over this time span John went absolutely over and above what I would expect from a lender. John worked all hours of the day and night to provide me with cost sheet, after cost sheet, after cost sheet. He remained in constant communication by email, phone calls and text. All of this with multiple deals falling through, or needing urgency to have the valuable information he could provide at a moments notice. I am definitely not the easiest client as my schedule is all over the place, being state wide and international, while also most of the time being on weekends needing the information. John never hesitated to get me over the information that was so important to my wife and I to select a property. To go a step further, John even called me about my mortgage rate drop that ended up securing me an amazing rate lock that saved me hundreds of dollars. John was awesome throughout the whole process working with the realtor, the closing company and the insurance company. This is something that you would expect from an institution or individual working for you, but John went the extra measures to help. I was the annoying client that wanted multiple cost sheet quotes, for multiple scenarios of down payments and terms, and not one time did John ever make me feel like I was asking too much or a pain the butt, even though I know I probably was! He by far not only earned my business, but earned this review from a guy that doesn’t do reviews. If John is any reflection of the personnel at West Penn Financial, then they are lucky to have him and others like him.

My experience working with several people including the president at West Penn was terrible. My paperwork was forgotten, I felt a great sense of arrogance from some individuals after visiting their office. I wish I would would have used my previous lender! Do your homework before trusting some random financial company.

We closed on a loan this morning. Our loan started the underwriting process the afternoon before the closing and continued to within an hour of the closing time that day! We repeated sending information that was sent weeks before! All I could get get from Tom Birko was a bunch of excuses. Avoid this mortgage broker at all costs!!! Poor service coupled with a bad attitude.
