My husband and I love this hometown gun shop. We don’t go anywhere else for guns or ammo. Prices are very reasonable, but nothing beats the staff. The owner definitely has a great group to help run this place. They’re all extremely knowledgeable and willing to take the time to answer your questions. We recently took the CCW class on site - I appreciated the extra time that was spent to go over legalities and general gun safety. This is the place to go for all of your pawn/gun shop needs. . . Actually, it’s worth it just to stop in during the day to see Ruger the Frenchie!

Katie is an excellent CCW instructor. Very knowledgeable and passionate about gun safety. The class was real easy to understand and she made it fun to learn about guns and proper handling. She also gives her personal info so she can continue to give you training even afterwards. Def would recommend!

What a JOKE, Choice of Employees is a disaster, Unprofessional, Arrogant, one of them is an addict. Take or leave it type of attitude with their custom products. The OWNERS son has no business in the gun store. He wants to be worshiped as some god.

If you are looking to take your CCW class, don't go any further! Katy is an amazing teacher and her knowledge of what is required is unbelievable. She makes the class fun in a way that you get what she is teaching. Then when you are done and go looking for that perfect gun the crew inside the pawn shop will work with you for that perfect fit. One stop shop when it comes to your gun/ammo needs!!

Katherine was very informative and helpful for the concealed carry class. After I shot as part of the requirement for the class, she answered more extensive questions that I had and went over the gun more in detail for me. Rich, Cameron, Kyle, and Stephen were also very helpful and had great honest suggestions when I was looking to purchase my firearm and accessories. Thanks! I highly recommend taking the CCW class here! I was referred here by my sister and I am so glad I came here to take it. Mrs. Erdly was amazing! She is extremely passionate about firearm safety an very knowledgeable. I am a newbie to firearms and haven't had much practice with them. I am little intimidated when it comes to guns and Mrs. Erdly made me feel very comfortable. I left the class today with lots of information and techniques on what to do and what not to do. Overall great experience!!!!

We took the CCW class today with Katherine, and we could not have asked for a better instructor! She was funny, knowledgeable, and made the class extremely enjoyable! The information she provided was accurate and in-depth, and I know we will be referencing what she taught for years to come! Ride the rail! The concealed carry class was great! Katherine is a wonderful instructor and makes sure that safety is priority. She makes sure to go through every detail. This is a great class especially if you are a beginner. Sherry is a wonderful person as well. I highly recommend the permit class!

I love this place there always getting in new stuff, and yet some times I feel like I’m in a museum looking at some very interesting stuff. Lots of firearms to choose from. My wife and I took our concealed carry class here, they really work with you. They want you to pass and get your certificate. The prices are very fair. Katherine is a great instructor! I went into her concealed carry class clueless and scared, I had NEVER held or shot a gun in my life. After taking her class, I was a lot more knowledgeable not only about guns but laws I had no idea about. She is very patient, passionate and takes teaching very seriously. Katherine and the entire West Coast staff are great. My husband and I did the concealed weapons class together a couple of years ago, and I recently did a refresher class. Katherine's knowledge, enthusiasm, and dedication to firearm safety is impressive. Regardless of your experience level, this class will provide you with necessary information and resources to pursue your right to carry a concealed weapon. This class is not a sales pitch for the shop which I appreciated. However we have also been impressed with staff knowledge and service when we were making some firearm decisions. I highly recommend their concealed weapons class. I felt very comfortable with the instructor. Kat was very patient and informative. She cares about you as a person. She gave us her phone number if we need any help at the range. She said she would meet you there. A lady was not comfortable holding the gun, so she asked her to come back the next day so she could work with her. She went over and beyond her job.

Decent place and for the most part they welcome except for when too busy. When it’s busy you have no clue who works there and seems to take a long while before you are able to get help. Ratings would Probably be 2-3 stars but this place is lucky Katherine works there. The CWP class was very informative and Katherine did an awesome job making it understanding, fun and enjoyable.

She was very patient with us and explained everything thoroughly even though in the beginning her computer was down, she literally went off memory and for something with this much knowledge needed, that was impressive! West Coast Pawn Is the best place to buy a gun in Lakeland. We have baught two guns from them and a bunch of ammo. We like them so much I made them a Glock treat for Memorial Day.

I'm new to un ownership and I took the concealed carry class with Katherine Erdly, certified NRA Instructor. I learned gun fundamentals as well as concealed carry fundamentals and she presented the material in a fun and engaging way. Highly recommend her class for anyone who is new (or experienced) to gun ownership.

Took the CCW class this past weekend. Katherine is a awesome instructor. Very fun class, very informative, and so much emphasis on safety. She is very knowledgeable, and kept the class entertaining and interesting, along with great interaction to make sure you retain what you have learned. I will recommend her class to anyone that is interested in obtaining their permit, or just want to learn aboun gun safety period. And the price of the class is about the cheapest you'll find ANYWHERE! Do yourself a favor and take your class with her. You will not regret it!

Have only lived in the area for a few months now, this was one of the first local shops I went into just to look around, I've been back a half a dozen times or more. What else can I say? I recently took a concealed carry class at West Coast Pawn. &Gun. Our instructor Katherine was very knowledgeable and very informative. Even if you have no intention of applying for a concealed carry license I would recommend taking this course just to familiarize yourself with hand guns.

Great CCW class. Katherine is a great teacher, she keeps you engaged, keeps the class fun and you learn a lot. I highly recommend the class. I also bought my gun from them a year ago and get all my ammo here. Everyone in the store is friendly and knowledgeable. I’ll keep coming back here for all my gun and ammo needs.

I've been going there since I was a kid. Lately I've gone there for firearms and their concealed weapons class. The class is great. It takes a morning to do and they typically provide snacks and beverages. The instructor is fairly knowledgeable and is more than willing to help you understand and of the fundamentals of firearms ownership and safety. The gun room staff is extremely friendly and helpful. Recently I went to purchase a firearm. I didn't have all of the cash up front but they went above and beyond by making an exception for me to put the rifle on layaway even when they didn't have to. 10/10 would go back and recommend.

The class is three hours long, and I was worried about that because I attended the class after work. However, Katherine made the class VERY fun and interesting. It is VERY informative and I recommend taking this class. She teaches you the ins and outs of how to handle a gun, where you can and cannot carry, the laws, and most importantly SAFETY!!

After taking the CCW license course I was very pleased with how much knowledge the instructor gave. I would highly recommend taking this course. If you are on the fence about it, please just do it, the instructor is super friendly and will not make you feel stupid for asking a question. Plus, being trained how to properly handle a weapon is always a good skill to have!

The class was amazing. She teaches amazing classes. Very informal and extra patience. I would highly recommend her classes. But when she came to my house she posted personal information about me on Facebook. I was shocked. I gave her clothes for her daughter. She sold a gun to a man who had a serious record and he pointed that gun at me and several others at my house. PCSO had to remove this man from my home.

I recommend people to take their ccw class here. Katherine is the best instructor she made the class very fun and gave us so much knowledge. I have bought a gun here and will continue to shop here for ammunition.

Today I took the CCW class with Katherine. As a woman, I was worried about how comfortable I would be participating, and asking questions. Katherine was very knowledgeable, and took the time to answer everyone's questions. She also provided information on the state statutes, and shared the West Coast Pawn and Gun website in her presentation. Love their website, it has the Concealed Weapon License Reciprocity listed!

My husband Rodger and I took the CCW class last week and were very impressed. The instructor, Katherine, was great -- informative, knowledgeable, humorous (at times), exceedingly patient and just an all-round good instructor. The three hours of class flew by as she (and assistant Ms. Sherry) kept everything moving along smoothly while those of us in the class learned from her expertise. Highly recommend her as a trainer!

Me and my husband took the concealed class here, it was $70 for two people which was a lot more fairly priced than anywhere else and that is what drew us in. I can say taking Katherine's class was one of the best decisions we have made. She provided more information and knowledge then she is required and she is here to help after with anything gun related. I highly recommend her to anyone looking to take this class. She truly loves teaching about guns and takes her class seriously. She really holds a higher standard.

I took the class and the instructor was awesome she was amazing I learned so much from her and she made sure you understood super nice, I was the oldest in the class lol I believe, and I was very nervous and she calmed me down with the tone of her voice and her showing me one on one face to face she cared . I didn't stick around to tell her thank you and that I appreciate the time she spent with me I really wish I did , she also offered her time after class if anyone needed or had questions one other thing I thought was great she gave her number and email if you ever had any concerns or questions that she would be willing to help at any time . So if your looking to get your ccw I recommend West Coast Pawn .

I attended the CCW class today instructed by Katherine and it was actually informative and fun. There was food and drinks for comfort and Katherine’s calm and friendly attitude was very welcoming. She made sure to involve everyone and constantly bring up the most important things to remember without sounding like a robot. Before I took the class I had just a little common knowledge about firearm safety. I was comfortable with my own semi-auto pistol but still pretty nervous about revolvers and carrying firearms in general. By the end of the class I felt well informed about all of the components of different types of pistols, the laws of carrying in Florida, and how to safely maneuver and handle a gun minimizing the possibility of making a mistake. I would HIGHLY recommend this CCW class to anyone in central Florida looking to get there carrying permit. Also the price is really nice in comparison to most others.

Took my concealed weapons class here and the lady did a really good job explaining safety and gun control. She made the class more fun but getting everyone to engage and be involved in the class and I even got a little gift bag of goodies for reading out loud to the class as well as a coupon I definitely plan on using for my gun holster purchase lol. Really enjoyed it and would recommend to anyone looking for an affordable class, gun, or gun accessories to check this place out!

I have gone to classes for various certifications, I have worked in Government for at least 10 years. This instructor, her assistant, and the training was absolutely wonderful. Excellent job with presenting the material, and willingness to make sure all your students had full operational knowledge of firearm safety and where to find information in regards to other states recognizing Florida licensing. I Highly recommend this course. Instructor Katherine EXCELLENT JOB!!!!!

Stores always nice and clean, friendly customer service always helping and showing everyone all the options regardless of your knowledge. They treat you like family instead of income. They are more laidback than stiff. They do joke around but I'd say its better than ignoring you!

I attended the CCW class on 3/15/19. The instructor Katherine was well-versed and knowledgeable of gun laws and gun safety. She made me feel more informed and confident as a new gun owner. Been here several times over the past few years. Bought multiple freedom units from them, several freedom seeds, and few random items. They’re always friendly. Always very informative. Don’t mind ya hanging out just to chat. I’m an over the road truck driver and I come in to town every few months so I make it a priority to stop by every time I come around. Highly recommend them. If they don’t have what you want, tell them. They’re good at getting back with you if it comes through the shop. Can’t say enough good things about them.

Wanted to buy a gun with out my husbands help (for the first time). Went to several places and then I found myself at West Coast Pawn. I pointed out the gun i thought that I wanted. When it was handed to me I realized it was way too heavy for me. Tommy my sales rep also saw it was way too heavy. He grabbed a different gun and said try this. It was perfect light weight with maximum damage!!! He explained everything about the gun to me. I went to the front if the store where Cameron and Stephen help with the paperwork and all my questions!!! They have a customer for life!! Thanks guys for all the help!! Love my gun!!

The CCW/ handgun safety class, our instructor Katherine, was very knowledgeable and friendly. Great class for someone who has never fired a gun before and for those who think they know everything. She makes very good points on weapon safety and how to handle your weapon/ammo. Having to be firearm safety certified in order to obtain a CCW, along with the legal requirements, this class wasn't very painful at all.

I’ve done a certification in the past but lost my certificate, and it does NOT compare to the corse taught my this instructor. She not only teaches you gun safety but she also is very knowledgeable about the laws from state to state as it relates to obtaining your ccw permit and traveling with it. The training I got today was second to NONE. I rarely leave reviews but I felt I should take my time to leave one based off of the AMAZING experience I’ve had with this young lady:
