Wauna Credit Union Forest Grove Branch Reviews

I have had problems with new manager at vernonia branch. Over Reacting taking things personal and refusing to converse to service my account for her personal overreaction from not directed personsly raising my voice for refusal to offer customer service to my account, as the servicer of my account. She to my frustration out of context and turned it into her personal over reaction. I have never had banking problems in 64 years. Its my account not hers and ill decide not her ever. I could care less about personal problems, I just need to do business in my commerce not hers, she has punished me for demanding access to my account, mobil banking not allowed for me she says. Unbelievable child.
Hi William I am sorry that you didn’t have the experience that you hoped for in your most recent interaction with the credit union. We completely understand that finances are one of the most important things in a person’s life, and are forgiving if a member is heated. We will at times ask them to come back after they cool down though if they raise their voice. Thank you for being a member.

Problems? Have fun resolving them on the phone. No one answers the phones except unqualified help from a call center. Not to mention the website does not work right. I am considering closing my account as there are way better places than this to bank with. This has to be one of the worst credit unions I ever joined. Sure, blame it on a nationwide staffing shortage. I find that answer to be a complete deflection to steer the attention away from your institution’s inadequacies. Here I am again, a different day different time and I have been waiting on the phone for 20 minutes for someone to answer. Unacceptable. Furthermore, you all would not be short on staff if you would actually do something to keep your staff retained longer. Things such as providing a decent work environment (seeing as how you can't provide decent customer service, that’s probably a real challenge for you) and decent compensation. I can see that your statement of putting experienced staff at your phones made little difference and that was more or less blowing smoke so you can attempt to make yourselves look better. The fact I cannot get a hold of a customer service rep for 2 days in a row and the same situation has happened in the past makes your answer look rather pathetic.
Hi Adrian - We're sorry you're not having the experience you would hope for with the credit union. Due to the nationwide staffing shortage, we have been forced to make some changes to our communication center. The big thing we've done is move some of our more experienced staff to the phones, but we also have contracted with a third party. We do recognize they aren't always able to help like our full-time staff, but we assure you that is temporary. Regarding your mention of our online banking, we haven't had any reports of that being unavailable, so if you'll provide us the time and date you had issues we will look into it. Again, we do apologize for the longer than average wait times on the phones right now.

When a company cant pay their employees enough and go short staff just imagine what they charge in interest rates when they cant pay their employees enough...Poor showmanship bad business etiquette. Just a group of low lifes about the $1. If they aint makeing money then you are no concern to them. Don't get urself locked into a agreement with wauna my good deed for the day dont apply with wauna
Hi Nathan - I'm sorry to hear you didn't have the experience you were hoping to during your interaction with the credit union. I am sorry to hear that. I do want to clarify the comment about us being in it for the money. Wauna Credit Union, like all credit unions, is actually a not-for-profit. That means any income we make is invested back into the credit union. It's what allows credit unions to generally have lower fees and better interest rates on loans and deposit accounts (https://www.investopedia.com/financial-edge/1211/6-benefits-of-using-a-credit-union.aspx). Any "profits" we make at the end of the year are actually repaid to our members. To learn more about the credit union movement, go to https://www.ccul.org/about-us/credit-union-movement Regarding the staffing comment, we've recently increased our hourly pay. WCU is experiencing the same staffing shortage that all employers are experiencing right now, especially for frontline workers. We do understand that this does have an impact on wait time and branch access. We do apologize for that, and promise we are doing everything we can to staff up.

Amazing bank; all locations. The staff and the management go out of their way to help you. The hours are flexible. This new location is great to have as it is closer than the branches located on Hwy 30. Great rates and options for mortgages, auto loans, lines of credit, credit cards, and loans to purchase land; there is more services offered than this.
That's so great to hear! We pride ourselves on offering everything that those big international banks offer, while still providing the local touch, along with local branches. If you ever do need us when you're not near a branch we do have online chat, phone member consultants, and even video chat, but rest assured our branches will always be there too. Thank you so much for being a member.

Been banking with them for 20 years with multiple accounts. It is nice to have a small town CU that in general has a consistent helping attitude. And they have gotten better with more options even in the pandemic.
Thank you so much for the kind words David. We really strive to provide a modern experience, with our online, app, and video calls, but still provide local people who are happy to help you when you visit a branch.

Worst banking institution I've EVER dealt with!! I needed a important document notarized. I called the credit union and had a appointment in Forest Grove at 2:00. I went in before 2:00 and waited. Finally the "Notary" came out. He stated that they did not have a notary at this location! I told him I spoke with the home office ( Astoria) and there was a notary at this location. He stated that the home office was wrong! I then went out to my car and called the home office again. I told the woman what happened. She called the credit union back and spoke with notary. I went back to the same person and he notarized my documents! Huh? I never recieved a apology for that. The atm seems to work only now and again! I put in a $1000.00 check and the atm credited my account $100.00. I called the credit union several times, no one could really help! They blamed it on third party persons! It was finally resolved after a long period of time. Ive have had other problems including not answering phone calls not returning phones calls ect. Thats just the beginning of this nightmare! I cant imagine the excuse they will have for this one! Its coming! I would stay clear from this banking institution! There was no communication problem! I think he just didn't want to work! Also, the machine gave me a option to change the deposit number but $1000.00 was the amount shown on the atm.
Hi Corey - It sounds like there was some miscommunication when you came in requesting the wire and notary. We do apologize that happened, and are glad we ultimately got that handled for you. With regards to the deposit, when you use those video teller units as a traditional ATM, they will always give you the option to change the deposit amount. We're happy to have you as a member, and thank you for your patience.

They have been so helpful to me in most instances. Even though they are now an hour's drive away from me, I will continue to use this Credit Union.
Thank you so much Otama. We’re always happy to help, and to see you face-to-face. If you need to though, we can help over the phone, online chat, or even video chat.
