    Only three things scare me, nuclear missiles, bats, and car salesmen. However, in need of a safe reliable vehicle, it’s off to the Subaru dealer we go. Expecting pushy salesmen that want to sell me a bridge to accessorize my new vehicle. I was greeted with Ryder Bailey. Still stereotyping my salesman, Ryder quickly began to change my opinion of him. He wasn’t pushy and did far more listening to me than talking. He didn’t try to oversell me. In fact, he even advised me out of some options that I probably will never use. AFTER the sale… we were met by the sales manager Austin, who offered us a loaner while we waited for our car to arrive. … NO! NOT ALL DEALERSHIPS ARE THE SAME. Wallace Subaru gets 6 stars from me.

    This used car dealership will MISLEAD you. "RANDY"promised me and my girlfriend that they would not sell a vehicle with anything wrong with it! Thus, she opted out on the warranty! We had only drove this Cadillac SUV one time and it shifted a little weird. But we were assured it was fine. They even said they would send it back to their mechanic to double check it before we bought it. Which they did not thoroughly check it, if at all! A few days after purchasing, the SHIFTING BEGAN TO SLIP AND SHUDDER! Which usually means TRANSMISSION PROBLEMS!! At that time I checked the fluid in her vehicle and the levels were fine. She contacted Wallace Subaru and mentioned the PROBLEM we were having. They WOULD NOT HELP US! It was SOLD"AS IS" was what was stated! This is a HORRIBLE way of business. We needed a trustworthy SUV because we found out, WE ARE HAVING A BABY!!! Now the PROBLEMS keep getting WORSE and we are going to be left with the $20,000.00 LEMON we purchased from Wallace Subaru used cars. We do not know what to do. But I do know one thing! DO NOT TRUST THIS PLACE!!!!

    We regret you opted out of the extended service contracts offered. Extended service contracts are a valuable tool to protect customers from unforeseen expenses. It is our hope that no customer has an issue with a vehicle we sell, However we understand that is unrealistic which is why we require our sales staff to offer available warranty options to all of our customers.     The folks here are always friendly and helpful. My visit today was for a prorated refund for a service plan on a vehicle I traded at a different dealership. No matter, still friendly and helpful. Scott and Ben were both super courteous. Over the years I've purchased five vehicles here...and I'll continue to shop here in the future.

    Both my purchase and service experience have been top notch. I drive an hour to come to this dealership because the service has always been great. During this crazy market, they went above and beyond to find the exact car I wanted without a crazy influx of the price as opposed to many dealerships. If you’re searching for a new subie, this is definitely the place to come! 👍🏼

    I've taken my Subaru here once before and received the best service from Myra, who is no longer there as I discovered on my most recent trip. In fact, the service is so great that I will gladly make the 2 hour drive one-way just to have them service my Crosstrek. Most recently, I scheduled a 150k mile service online for the 8am timeslot on a Saturday. I received a confirmation email and a couple of automated texts confirming my appointment the week leading up to it. I wake up, drive the 2 hours one Saturday morning to discover that they only do oil changes on weekends. ...are you serious? No one could've called me and informed me of that beforehand? The scheduling system isn't savvy enough to block certain timeslots/days based on the service selected? I asked the receptionist- who was very polite- and she said it was a "system issue" and they couldn't control it. That's iffy, but if an employee has a printout of appointments for the day in front of them- which she had- then someone surely could've called me and gave me a heads up before I made the drive there. It was incredibly frustrating to waste 4 hours of my morning for nothing. There needs to be a process in place for reviewing appointments beforehand to prevent a potential event like this from happening again; especially if the scheduling system is shotty like I was told.

    To be fair this is pertaining to Wallace used cars only. Horrible experience. No one is honest. Straight up lied 2 times. Will not deal with you at all on price. Owner is rude. Salesman was arrogant. Don’t do it!!!!

    Finally purchased my long awaited JEEP from Austin Reed last week and had a GREAT experience here. Austin is friendly, knowledgeable and fun to deal with. He made our purchase extremely pleasant and quick, answered any questions we had and took care of small details we had forgotten AND went out of his way to make sure we were satisfied in every way.     It wouldn't be fair for me to give 5 stars, just like it wouldn't be fair to give 1 star. My experience was only by phone, as I was searching for replacement headlights. Whoever I talked to in the parts department was extremely rude, and basically acted like I was bothering him by calling. I ended up finding my headlights somewhere else at a much better price.

    I don’t know how these people sleep at night. The extended warranty that was supposed to cover all kinds of things on my Forester really covers nothing. I’ve tried to have several things repaired under the warranty they sold me, but it would pay for nothing. Exhaust system rusted out, door window motor, etc.. I used to have my oil changed there until one day I had a service manager once tell me there was no real difference between conventional and synthetic oil. After todays refusal for the warranty to cover another problem with my Forester and the service manger’s attitude, I will never deal with these people again. This will be my last Subaru, I plan on trading it soon.

    My wife and I bought a Subaru cross trek here and had a great experience. Had the best offer within 250 miles and 6-8 dealerships. We've also been getting our other Subaru serviced here for a few years and the service department is great too. They also assisted us in getting the manufacturer discount that was available at that time, I have had other dealerships (non Subaru) not follow through on factory/manufacturer discounts in the past without having to badger them but they did it here without having to ask twice. Would recommend. Everyone is helpful prior to the sale but its the follow through after the sale that matters which they seem to do well at here.

    I have bought and leased 5 vehicles with Wallace Imports of Johnson City since they first opened. My experience has been nothing but exemplary from start to finish and I just recently got my Subaru Outback 2021, a wonderful experience...once again! Starting with the owner, Steve Moore, who always takes an interest in knowing the customers and being sure that they are happy with the entire process of purchasing and with service afterwards. I consider Wallace Imports of Johnson City my home! Travels Manuel, the sales manager is always helpful and I know I can always count on him if I need anything. My personal salesman is Stan Hilliard and he has also been someone who cares about his customers and is ready to help! Barry, Gerard, and Myra in service are another reason this dealership is always where I go! I am a single female and this entire dealership, guided by Steve Moore, has always been the place I trust and am treated with respect and appreciation for my business. I highly recommend this dealership and the entire staff to everyone!

    I recently purchased a used Subaru Outback from Glenn Landstrom. He was the perfect salesman- completely helpful and informative without being pushy. He allowed me to thoroughly inspect the car and was responsive to all of my questions and inquiries. After my purchase, he gave me a thorough tutorial of how everything worked since it was my first Subaru. The day after my purchase there was an issue with the battery that had been mistakenly left unaddressed and he told me to bring it in and he would take care of it. Literally within minutes of arriving, someone replaced the battery at no charge and I was on my way. Glen is a very kind and helpful person and I would definitely recommend him to family and friends when looking for a used car. He was knowledgeable, friendly and honest. I had shopped for a long time for a car and other sales people had not followed up even when I showed interest in purchasing. Glenn consistently followed up with me and kept his word each time.

    Truly the best car buying experience I’ve ever had! The salesman, Blake Boggs, was extremely knowledgeable and helpful and went over and beyond with helping me purchase my Subaru. I was extremely impressed with the business finance person as well who went over my finance agreement and it truly felt he was talking to me like I was one of his own family members (making sure I understood all the finance details and interest stuff etc). The whole experience ended with Austin who also took the time to show me all the bells and whistles with the car and made me feel so much comfortable with all the new gadgets on my cross trek 😊 Thank you all for your wonderful service!     This is my first Subaru. And this is my first purchase with Wallace Imports. I had been a loyal Honda customer for 17 years. I made the switch after Honda didn’t value me as a customer. I want to say that Wallace imports and Subaru have taken excellent care of me and have treated me like family. They have treated me as if I’ve been a long time customer. They have won me over as a customer for life. Can’t say enough about them and their service Department. You will not be disappointed in purchasing a vehicle off of them.

    Joey Boggs was our sales consultant and we were very pleased with the service he provided. He did not push any one particular car on us, explained all of our options, was honest and upfront and helped us choose the best option. The entire process was very smooth. We have been customers of the Wallace Subaru service department for our Forester and that combined with Joey's service led us to pick our 2021 Subaru Outback.     I have been a patron of Wallace Subaru of Johnson City for a number of years and have bought several vehicles from them during that time, the most recent during this pandemic. The last two I have bought from Glenn Landstrom and I highly recommend him. (I've actually recommended Glenn to friends who have ended up buying from him as well and are happy they did.) He listens, researches, and follows up on any questions you may have. He's a stellar man who doesn't pressure you but instead works with you so that you are satisfied that you are buying what you want at a reasonable price. Wallace's service department has been my go-to place for my Subarus and I have had zero complaints with them over the years.     If you get the opportunity to work with Michael “Whitewater” Chambers, take it! He is incredible. He was kind and very patient (cannot emphasize this enough) in helping me find the exact vehicle I was looking for. I went to look at a few other dealerships, and not one compared to the customer service or prices Wallace Subaru offered. Car shopping as a young woman can sometimes be difficult and present challenges. I never faced any of these issues and was treated very fairly. I am so grateful for Wallace Subaru of Johnson City!

    I will never do business with this location. When anyone needed a car and was interested in Subaru I would always direct them to Beau Hicks. His customer service was like none other. My daughter planned to purchase a Subaru there and that will not occur either. To hear of how Beau was treated by the GM there was disguising. Beau has been a HUGE part of Wallace. I know for a while this dealership will suffer financially but I hope most of all the GM has many sleepless nights after treating someone this way!

    I worked with Dani at Wallace Subaru. I was prepared with what amenities I wanted in my 2021 Subaru Forester. She gave me some advice and told me what packages. There was some wheeling and dealing as I had a trade-in. Dani answered the phone every time, even when she was not working and was just as pleasant.     I helped my girlfriend purchase her 2020 Subaru Forester from Wallace Subaru of JC. Our experience there was unbelievably pleasant. Once we decided on what type vehicle to purchase, the purchase price used to be the most important factor for us in selecting a dealer. Without a doubt, Wallace gave us a price within a few dollars of any internet price. However, my experience with Wallace taught me that when a dealership gives you outstanding service both before and after the sale, that service should be the most important factor in selecting a dealer. We dealt with Jeff and Austin. They were outstanding. Jeff worked hard to give us the very best price for the Forester. Austin is the more technical of the two. After the purchase, Austin spent 2 hours going over every mechanical and electronic feature of the Forester. He also gave us his personal cel phone number and told us we could call him at any time if we had questions abut the vehicle. Susan has called him on several occasions such as when the rear trunk lid would not go up all the way. He told her he knew immediately what the problem was and explained she simply had to push a button on the lid. Additional service perks at Wallace are free car wash when you request it (not done automatically and free loaner car. We learned that Wallace has 25 loaner cars. Although I never considered a Subaru for my self, I was so impressed withe the Forester, that I will probably buy one for my next new vehicle.

    I was referred to Wallace Subaru of JC and to salesman Glenn Landstrom from a friend when I was looking for a 2013 Crosstrek. Glenn was extremely patient and answered all my questions and I ended ordering a 2013 Crosstrek(blue). Then before my blue Crosstrek came in I called him up and told him I’d changed my mind and wanted a grey one, he went above and beyond and found my grey Crosstrek (Lucy), which I still have and she just turned over 100,000 miles. I brought my parents to see Glenn, he put them in a reliable used car to suit their needs. I also referred a coworker to Glenn when she was shopping for a Forester, and will continue to refer people to him. I hope when I’m ready to trade Lucy, Glenn will still be working. The service department has always been great when I have been their for service.

    I cannot express how thankful I am for Brittany and Gerad at Subaru- I’ve come in multiple times for oil changes or car issues and they always go above and beyond to help me.     I absolutely appreciate both the service department and the sales guys at Wallace Subaru of Johnson City, Chris Trent one of the sales guys is my favorite go to salesman. We have purchased to Outbacks from him so far and are looking at another purchase in the near future of the 2020 ascent. The service department run by all-time great manager named Barry is the best service department I have come across in the Tri-City area. The service agents that work for Barry named Myra, Jared, and John have been outstanding in their help ever since 2004 when we brought our first Volkswagen Beetle to them for service. This dealership has been outstanding in every way since my wife and I started doing business with them back in 2004.

    I contacted Wallace Subaru through the internet asking about a Subaru Forester. Dani Clevinger Internet Coordinator, responded to my inquiry and helped answer questions and even helped to negotiate a price for me. Essentially, we wanted to look at getting something that was an all-wheel-drive vehicle. We discovered that Wallace had a WRX on their lot, so we drove over to check it out.     I as looking at a used car. Price was fair, no haggling necessary. Was ready to put deposit down, holiday weekend bank not open to get cashiers check to pay in full. Sales manager called my sales person to the back. When he returned, he was putting the high pressure on me to pay today (I could’ve put it on my debit). And proceeded to LIE to me about how someone else was coming to look at the car. It was a blatant LIE! The car has been sitting at the dealer since March! I told them great, if they want it, they can have it and walked out. Their loss, as I was ready to get the car.

    Worst new car we have ever owned. 2021 Subaru Outback. Been in the shop 5 times. Customer service fits the car. It's terrible. Every time they say an hour, expect 3. Waiting on a new 3000 dollar radio to be replaced now. That means we'll have to go back again to waste another day. NEVER AGAIN will I deal with the dealer or Subaru. I wish I could give 0 stars!!! 7.1.22 Another terrible experience with Wallace Subaru. After so many times of repair work on a new car, nothing ever gets resolved. It's usually even worse. The right hand doesn't know what the left hand is doing. No one takes responsibility, just passed around. Our dash was scratched during the replacement last time and today both interior doors are scuffed and scratched. We'll see if the new vapor barriers work this time after the 3rd time on this issue!!

    I called the parts department to get a price for a battery for my Volkswagen. I told him the make, model, year, and engine. He asked me for the VIN number and I told him that I didn't have it with me. He said "well you find that and then I can find it for you". He said that there are about 8 different options and he needed the VIN to get the exact right battery for my car. I told him that I would just go elsewhere. This is ridiculous. I can find a battery online without the VIN. I can also go to ANY parts store and give them the make, model, year, and engine and they can sell me a battery. I got a quote from Advance Auto two minutes before I called Wallace and they didn't even ask for a VIN.

    Jennifer, I’m sorry we fell short when called to price a battery. The aftermarket will produce a battery made to satisfy many different models. VW produces a battery made specifically for your model VW and that is why they ask for the VIN. We should have been more accommodating in your request and tried to locate the specific battery by your name assuming you’d been to the dealership before.     Here is my honest review of my dealings with Wallace Subaru Johnson City. I had emailed them for a quote on a 7 Passenger Red Ascent Premium with Convenience package. They quoted me $34,399. I go in and the price is now $35,428. The reason is they tell me they can not find one for the price they quoted. I was very clear in my communication on what I wanted and they never said anything about there being a chance of not finding one. I also inquired about a hitch install. Quoted $599 over email. Get there and it is now $649. The salesperson who is awesome is not responsible for this... They were great. It is the decision maker they are talking to. I have bought a vehicle there before and had all my Subaru service done there. This is not a good business practice to say one thing via email and change when the customer arrives. I will update my review if something changes.

By far, the experience with him was the best and we decided we would continue to purchase vehicles from him.     Got a Subaru from their used lot about a month ago, now the car’s in the shop because the steering rack is dumping power steering fluid out, the rear rotors had deep grooves, and the right rear caliper was completely broken. When I told my salesperson about the leak, his response was “Are you sure? It wasn’t leaking on the lot.” I’m being charged $2,400 to fix it and I literally just got it. Love the car but disappointed that I’m having to pay out of pocket for all of this. I shouldn’t have to do this as soon as I am.

    I recently purchased a used Subaru Outback from Glenn Landstrom. He was the perfect salesman- completely helpful and informative without being pushy. He allowed me to thoroughly inspect the car and was responsive to all of my questions and inquiries. The day after my purchase there was an issue with the battery that had been mistakenly left unaddressed and he told me to bring it in and he would take care of it.     We were traveling through Tennessee when our check engine light came on along with other warning lights flashing. We were 20 minutes away from this dealership an HOUR before closing and we’re told that all the service technicians were wanting to leave early and they could not help us. We were only asking them to run a quick diagnostic, as suggested by the dealership where the car was purchased. As we were far from home and the weekend was approaching, we needed peace of mind about continuing to drive the car. When I asked if they could recommend any other options, the man on the phone told us he was not allowed to give out that kind of information! I was shocked at their total unwillingness to help travelers in need well before closing. This service department was so unhelpful and frankly quite rude. We called the Subaru dealership in nearby Kingsport and they gladly performed the diagnostic test which only took about 10 minutes! All was well and we were on our way before closing time.     Worst service experience I’ve ever had in my life. 3 hour wait with no communication or update on what was happening. The guy who was servicing the vehicle left the dealership without communicating anything to me (or other staff). The guy who explained to me what services were performed had no idea what happened vs what did not happen. The #1 concern I made the appointment for was not addressed. Seems like things were just done just to “justify” an excessive labor cost. Cut corners and did sloppy work: Did not flush the transmission because they thought it was a waste of money, but did not give me, the customer paying for the service, the option to elect this service. Never going back here again and advising my friends to go elsewhere. Didn’t even wash the car.
