Been insured through Farm Bureau for 30+ years: Home, Auto, and an Umbrella policy. Having my agent Bill Nuckels ready by phone, in person, and email - to answer questions and "make things happen" when needed has been a blessing!

    Response from the owner

Virginia, thank you for the kind words. We value your loyalty to Farm Bureau and look forward to servicing your insurance needs for many more years to come!

Virginia Farm Bureau is a discriminatory company. They lobby against Public Land users/owners, and their use rights. Be careful with associating with this company. Though their interests, and their customer’s interest have absolutely nothing to do with public land usage as they insure private land owners, they continue to lobby against and be the leading special interest group preventing necessary legislation for equity and equality on Virginia Public Lands, specifically on Sundays. They discriminate against one user group with no scientific basis or justification. Don’t believe me? It’s public record. See for yourself.

I am rating this insurance company one star because of the unprofessionalism and the carless behavior from the staff at the Virginia Beach location. I spoke with Jarod, who is an agent here, and provided all my information including DL #, social security #, and vehicle information for a quote. He promised to give me a call back, which he didn't, but I eventually spoke with him and he gave me a rate for my insurance. I had mentioned that I was interested and ready to be insured by Virginia Farm Bureau, and I would give them a call back once they emailed me all the information (which never came). Once again, I had to call back and at this point it's been about 5 days of communication. I then spoke with the Customer Service Representative, Karen, which kept directing me to his extension but was always unavailable or all of a sudden out of the office. She then went on to say that unfortunately Jarod can no longer provide insurance for me and my car without reasoning. I asked to be switched to another agent, where she then said he is the only agent at the company.. Im not sure why it was such a hassle for car insurance when he quoted and said himself the price I'd have to pay and all of my information over the phone, but never in writing. I'm not comfortable with giving out my social and address and personal information just to be led down a path with no solution, or not helped in the end.

Your premiums will be used to lobby and silence other Virginians. Whether you agree or not. They claim to be grassroots but don't actually listen to their members. If you actually care about wildlife, you will run far away as their stance on wildlife is for the removal of any species that isn't agricultural. Birds, bees, deer, you name it

If I could rate this place 0 stars I would. I was insured with these people for a year and was assigned Angela Harris. She was very rude. Everytime I had a question she would be very short with me or give a snarky response. I asked on several occasions for a policy review because I wanted to go over my coverages. It was never done! Also, I requested to switch agencies; that also was never done. I would never give another dime of my money to this office. This should definitely be a coaching experience for Angela SHE IS RUDE!

Be careful using Virginia farm bureau because you never know what your money will be used for to support their lobby effort in the Virginia assembly. Their lobby efforts are not only out of touch with most Virginians but silence their voices and have no Scientific basis.

If you believe in hunting and the 2nd Amendment then steer clear of this company. They are one of the primary opponents of Sunday hunting on National Forest in VA. Take your business else where and send them a message.

An insurer of Farm Bureau had hit my vehicle and caused damage. I’ve been in constant communication with Ms. Amy Knight about the damages to my vehicle. Ms. Knight has given me exceptional service since the beginning, and although this was a very stressful situation, I appreciate her for being so helpful. She’s even gone “above and beyond” to assist me when there were some issues with getting an estimate completed on my vehicle. I highly recommend her services. -Ms. Melton
