The Check Place Lincoln St, Worcester

Contrary to the plethora of bad reviews, I found absolutely NOTHING wrong with this business. The gentleman that helped me was VERY polite & all it took was a quick phone call to see if they were open & if my check type could be cashed there. (Not sure why anyone would go to a business for the first time without calling to check if they’re open...) From what I understand they recently took over the business & had some hangups along the way that caused a fluctuation in business hours. They even cashed my PERSONAL check for me which a lot of other check-cashing places will not do!

Hours on-line say opened 10-5. Friday 06/28/19 at 4:45 I pulled up, walked up to the door and attempted to open the door. Door locked, lights off. Went back to my car to see a blonde come out of the office thru the side door and get into her white Mercedes. Went back today, Monday, 07/01/19 at 11:45 thinking middle of the day, should be opened. Wrong. Doors locked, lights off. No hours posted on the glass, no sign stating closed for vacation. Almost a year later and they still haven't worked out their issues. Miss the old owners, whom actually cared about their customers.

The new owners are helpful and nice. I never had a bad experience there. They always greet me with a smile when I walk in. Keep up the good work :)

They are open, but they don't have any MONEY.so why they open, not even money order they do...

Tried to come in today at 11, the lights were off and the doors were locked. They should've been open according to Google.

Literally never open when they’re supposed to be and never has enough change. Done with this place. The lady usually working when I go in is so nice and kind.. but I can’t afford to have to go all the way across Worcester to cash my check when this place is supposed to be open. The last 4 or 5 times I’ve tried going to this place, they were closed well before 5. Penny wise is much better.

It looks like have reopened recently. I went there, they were very professional. They might verify the check more meticulously the first time, but after it much quicker.

I was in and out.. they charged a cheap fare to cash my check. I would go here all the time if I didn't get direct deposit. Highly recommended.

Never open when they are supposed to be. New management is disappointing to say the least. The attitude illustrated below by the owner says it all.

Since they switched owners, they are never open when posted, come in whatever time they want. I've literally stood outside waiting for over an hour waiting for them to open.
