Manager sends 3 am texts on holiday. Takes every opportunity to sabotage bank. Bank tellers are made into full accountants instead.

After being a customer at BOF for 14 years, I was treated like a piece of junk mail when I had an issue with my account. Customer service consisted of arguing minor details with me, and explaining to me why $214 in fees on $103 in transactions in a 24 hour period was appropriate and what I agreed too. Sad that this business spends lots of money on advertising, but zero on trying to maintain long standing customers. When I asked to speak to someone else in the bank, Amanda took my email, and told me they would be in touch; and I never heard from anyone. I would not recommend this bank to my enemies. Lots of other banks are happy to offer you money management, without hidden fees and rude service. This place has gone downhill since the buyout.

    Response from the owner

Mr. Potter - we are so sorry you did not feel like we showed concern for you because we do. Amanda did inform our branch coordinator and she left a voicemail and called you several times back in March and April. Please know that we did value you as a long time customer and wish you the best.

Nancy has been an incredible contact for our accounts, as well as other family members. She is a joy to work with, no matter the process.

This is the worst bank in NWA the north college branch is especially bank, they made a series of mistakes when ordering my checks and then blamed it on me. The tellers and cocky college kids who have no idea what they are doing.

This bank has excellent staff. Alan at the main office was so timely and meticulous about helping me get paperwork together for my home loan. When my wallet was stolen last year, the manager at the college branch walked me through the process of getting a new account established and changing all of my auto drafts. And when someone later tried to use my stolen driver's license to withdraw funds from my account the branch worker at the East location immediately recognized the problem. The bad guys drove off, but at least they got my license back to the police and kept my account secure. I highly recommend this bank.

    Response from the owner

Thank you Michele - we think Alan is super special.

I have had two accounts at the Bank of Fayetteville over the years. One around twenty years ago. And the other I have now and have had for three years or so. I've also had accounts with other banks operating in the area. My experience is that the Bank of Fayetteville is easily the best of them all. The employees are always friendly and helpful. They answer questions like a friend would; not in a mechanical "I'm reading from a script written in the corporate headquarters 2,000 miles away" kind of way. That always comes off to me as really meaning "I don't know. I just work here. I wish I didn't." That is not what you get at BoF. I would have given them five stars. But since they joined with Farmers & Merchants, I have been a bit unhappy with some changes. Fit instance the overdraft fee used to be $19. Now it's a whopping $32! That can stack up fast if you don't keep good track of things. There's a few more but honestly they're not that big of a deal. Overall, BoF is a fantastic bank.

A staple in Fayetteville banking. Neat old building worth checking out whether banking or not. Awesome belt driven ceiling fans from a different time.
