I have heard people say all sort of ugly things about Home loan company but my experience with Alterra Home Loan as a first home buyer was super stress free. This guys actually care about you and that's what count for me. They made my buying experience super easy and are always there to provide support in their capacity. I was assigned an excellent and knowledgeable loan officer Moji Salako. She is the best ever. Thank you Alterra home loan for making my first home purchase a wonderful experience.

She is always available, ready to explain in details all the processes and procedures. Very patient, even work during a winter warning, snow emergency. She has over 100% exceptional customer service. Thank you for making our dream come true. My 8 year hold daughter is also praying for you.

Piero and Debbie were lifesavers. I was impressed by the team's professionalism and rapid communication to all my questions and concerns. I would definitely recommend this team for any home purchase or refinance. Even during a pandemic they made this process so easy for me. Fantastic work!

If I could give them a zero I would. In a stacked home buying deal with 4 homes and families dependent on Alterra closing their loan, there was no consideration for the families impacted by this transaction. Throughhout the process, there was very little communication from the loan officer and branch manager Piero Cornejo. Closing dates changed 3 different times due to Alterra processing the documentation late so lives shifted for each family involved just 2 weeks before Christmas. When it finally came time to close, the sellers drove over an hour in the cold rain, got to the title company and the closing dates on all of the documents were wrong so the loan didn't close.The seller ended up just giving up. When closing dates were missed due to Alterra not processing loans in the promised amount of time, very brief 1 sentence, non-commital explanations were provided by Mr. Cornejo with no apologies. In fact he told my realtor that families impacted by his lateness are not his problem. Just VERY VERY VERY bad business. Run far far away from this company. Interactions with this company have been an absolute nightmare that I wish on nobody in the homebuying process. All realtors involved stated that this by far the worst real estate transaction they have experienced in their multi-decade careers.

It’s unfortunate that I even have to give them one star because no stars is not a option. These people put 3 families upside down! Approved a loan then one day before closing at 3pm find a mistake putting all of us in a horrible spot. My family being the sellers. All of utilities were shut off, house was packed up, ready to move with less then 24 hour notice. We have to put our home back on the market and pay the mans mortgage that we are buying from because he already moved out. With this all being said; once they delivered the news knowone has been able to get in touch with them. They don’t know what they doing!
