Rex, Jon, and Melissa did an amazing job communicating with me throughout the process and helped me out in a real pinch when I was having issues with a different mortgage company. No regrets switching to Sun American, and I wish I would’ve just gone with them in the first place instead of going with a big bank. The application process on their website was very straight forward and easy, and their internal appraisers also made the process very smooth. Highly recommended!

We originally started our refinance with a different mortgage company. They kept raising the interest-rate on us and added fees. Everyone I spoke with on their staff was friendly, professional, and polite. They let me know plenty of time in advance what documents they would need, what the next steps would be, and what I should expect. There was an online portal that allowed me to follow where my loan process was and what was happening. In the very few instances that someone wasn’t available when I called, I received a return call in a timely manner. Overall, there isn’t anything I can say to improve my experience or recommend any changes. I couldn’t be more happy with my experience and I would recommend Sun American to anyone!

My husband and I decided to purchase our "together" home after 2 years of marriage. After consulting with a local mortgage broker, we were very disappointed with their inexperience. Our real estate agent referred us to Tracy McCutchan at Sun American, we called her and within minutes we were good to go. A pre-approval letter was sent to us shortly thereafter. She was with us every step of the way. Her experience and professionalism speaks volumes about her. I would recommend Sun American Mortgage to anyone!

My wife and I had been thinking about buying a house for quite a while, but every time we really started talking with realtors and/or mortgage places, we were turned down very quickly because of our debt to income ratio. In 2020, despite the global pandemic and a ridiculously high housing market in our area, we got the opportunity to try to buy a family members house that was a multi unit dwelling where we could rely on the rent income it would generate to help us get approved. We started trying aggressively, and were met with one disappointment after another as almost every loan officer turned us down. Some approved us, but only if we could bring a higher than traditional down payment. Most just turned us down before we could even get the process going, I suspect because it was a very unusual circumstance and they didn’t want to deal with the headache of it all when they had plenty of traditional loan applicants beating at their doors. Then we were introduced to Matt Corry at Sun American Mortgage. I can be honest when I say I’ve never had a better experience with anyone in any business. Matt was sincere and patient. He listened thoroughly as I explained what we were trying to do, and then he set out to figure out how to make it work. One of the first things I noticed about Matt was that he went above and beyond. While almost all companies that we had talked to up to this point would simply input our info into their system and turn us down when the computer came up with the red screen, Matt didn’t give up. He went and talked to his boss, he went and talked to his underwriter, he researched online, and did everything he could to find out what was needed to get an approval. His attitude was one of “well, you can’t get the loan yet” and then he would find the options and tell us what we needed to do to make it work. For almost a year, he worked tirelessly to get us approved and in such terms that would work for us. He was always quick to respond when I called or texted him, and treated us so well and with such patience even when I knew we were calling at inconvenient times. Eventually he did get us approved and we tried very hard to move forward with the loan, but there were too many roadblocks and obstacles on the seller’s end, and we decided not to go through with it. At around that same time another family member’s home became available and Matt didn’t miss a beat in transitioning and helping us get approved for that one which we ended up closing on last week. I would recommend this company to anyone looking for a mortgage loan. They are professional, efficient, very knowledgeable, but most importantly, I never had to wonder whether they cared about me as a customer.
