I had the best experience at Subaru of Mobile. All of the staff is attentive and pleasant and really wants to ensure you have a positive experience. My salesman was Chris Forehand and he was awesome. He was never pushy and I never felt pressured. He is a family man, kind, relatable, and very helpful. He is knowledgeable about the inventory, makes sure you are buying a car you try want, and goes above and beyond as a salesperson. My husband and I will 100% buy our next car from Subaru of Mobile and will specifically ask for Chris. 10/10 would recommend.

I was looking at vehicles on their website and a pop up box offered me a $50 Visa card if I went in. A few weeks later I went in to see a car I was interested in. I spoke with Brianna and she said the car I wanted to look at had sold the day before. I decided to look at another car but she did not know anything about it. I was embarrassed for her and disappointed that her manager had not done a better job of training her. When I asked her to validate my $50 Visa card she looked lost. She went to talk to a male manager who essentially blew me off. Then she talked to a woman named Ashley who assured me I would receive my $50 Visa card for coming in. It never happened. I tried calling and emailing the dealership with no response from anyone. I am now going to file formal complaints of fraud to the state attorney general's office and the better business bureau. Subaru of Mobile is a bait and switch operation. I'm sure they will respond with a bogus excuse. Just look at all the bad reviews they have and do yourself a favor and shop/buy elsewhere. (my response on 5/17/22 to their response: First of all look at the enclosed photo, the offer is good until 5/31/22, it has not expired. Next, Ashley copied my driver's license so you have the information you need to redeem my $50 gift card. Finally, if you want to know when I was there you can ask Brianna or Ashley, did you even bother to read my initial review???). Update on 5/30, I finally received my gift card. It should not have taken so long nor so much effort on my part.
Paul- We are sorry to hear that you have experienced issues attempting to redeem the $50 gift card, I recently gained access to do so last week. I've recently become the GM of the store and can't reference to the prior reviews, only remedy them going forward. I've made a few attempts to contact you and ask that your information get resubmitted to redeem as the code expired. I will also need to follow up with the status of the car you inquired on, our system shows that it recently sold on 5/5 and I'm not sure when you arrived to test drive, as it doesn't show in our system. We took our car in for regular maintenance. Everything seemed to check out until on the way home we noticed an airbag sensor going off. When we called back to ask if we could bring it in, we were told they would not be able to see us for a week! Given that this was something that occurred after their service & that it is a safety issue with the airbag, I thought they would be able to work us in right away. We were looking at purchasing a new car with them, but we will be looking elsewhere. Customer service & safety are key and they do not value that at Subaru of Mobile. We were able to call Montgomery Subaru and they were able to work us in the next day! I highly recommend taking your service to Montgomery Subaru! It is worth the drive!

Chris was my sales person My first visit was excellent although they did not have the exact Outback I wanted. I actually "built" my Outback online with Subaru and Chris was most helpful in the process. It came in missing two items and within a week Chris and the team had me scheduled to bring my car in and have those items added. So far so good!

Skyler was our sales rep and I would highly recommend. He wasn’t pushy and very polite. I usually can’t stand the car buying process but it went very smooth here. Only downside is the dealership taking on unnecessary fees on top of the sticker price to make you think you’re getting a good deal when they come back to you at list price. I felt like that was a jab at my intelligence but luckily they have Skylar or I would have walked out.

My car died while on a road trip. I got it to the closest Subaru dealership- this one. Everyone was so nice and attentive. I was fully expecting to cancel my trip, but they had the problem nailed down and me out the door to finish my trip in a loaner car in about 30 minutes. Jill even came in on her off day so I could pick up my car on the way back through Alabama. This crew is amazing.

There are 3 things I want to mention....... The first is that, in general, the employees aren't very interactive anymore. There are few smiles or spontaneous greetings. The second is that there were no snacks available, but the sign indicating complimentary refreshments was still up, and the basket for them was still on the refrigerator, and empty. Your flyer also touts refreshments for customers. I was told you were "out". Not a deal breaker, but frustrating. Also, my restroom stall had no paper. Both spools were empty. This is also very bothersome. It was too early in the day to have had a rush of customers depleting both rolls. The third is that my multi-point inspection form was not with my paperwork when I was called into the office to check out. When I pointed it out, my service advisor went to get it. When he came back with it, he pointed out yellow for the tire tread depth, but there were no numbers for the tread depth, the brake pads or psi in the tires. There have been before, the last one being on 10-26-21. All that leads me to wonder if it was even done.

I can’t thank Jill, Brandon, and Skylar enough for taking such great care of me and my car! I needed a hub cap liner that was an after market part and me being hopelessly uneducated in cars, they went the extra mile (pun definitely intended) to order them especially for me when two other car repair shops had failed me. Even took a look at my rotors and checked my oil just to put my mind at ease when driving. I’ll definitely be going back to see them all!

Our 2019 Subaru Outback was serviced in a timely mannered and the work explained prior to the service was done accordingly (I hope). My issue/frustration was with scheduling the appointment. First, I tried using the online scheduling to no avail. The only day 'open' was a Saturday and for us that is a 'no go'. All other days of the week were grayed out. I called the service phone number several times and no-one ever answered the phone. I then called and left a voice mail. This call was never returned. I gave it one last try and got a service rep who set up my day and time. No problems with this. I next received an email 4 days BEFORE my appointment indicating that I had an appointment on the day, and time, of the email. Come on, the service department needs to step up their game.

I took my car here for service recently because it is still relatively new and I paid for an extended warranty. The dealership failed to diagnose the problem and told me to come back another time. I took the car to a local garage that diagnosed and fixed the problem within an hour. Fast forward a few months later the car is low on oil and leaking all over. I attempt to get a Saturday appointment at the dealership but the first available is four weeks away. So I take my car back the the local garage that tells me the dealership failed to properly tighten the oil pan screw at the last oil change, causing the leak. It’s hard to trust the service department when even routine maintenance seems to be an issue for them. I’ll be make the 90 minute drive to another dealership in the future as I don’t want to waste time or money here anymore.

I do not recommend bringing your Subaru to their service center for anything but a recall issue. They will overcharge and suggest getting work done on the vehicle that is often unnecessary! The staff is very friendly and professional, but they use that as a cover to get the most money out of you for services that your car probably does not need.

I was extremely excited to receive my 2022 Subaru Acsent. My first brand new car purchased. The amount of disappointment is unparalleled. They detailed my car before pickup and it’s scratched beyond normal repair. After three times of dropping my car off I finally gave up and decided that I need a car to drive and that they just wanted me to go away. So now I have a brand new scratched on the entire surface 2022 Subaru. I put down $6000 and have a rather pricey car payment for a car that doesn’t look new at all! I waited 5 months for this and I honestly wish I would have never went here. At least I know where not to go.

Service work was great. However, I had a 10:00 appointment for an oil change and tire rotation. It was 11:45 before they were finished with my car. This has not been my experience in the past with Koby. I suspect they failed to put me on the schedule.

I visited the dealership for the Trade Up event and ended up trading in my CrossTrek for an Ascent. Breanna Ricks was very patient during the buying process and showed me every car I was interested in. The whole staff worked really hard to get me the deal I needed to be able to make the trade and now I have the Suburu of my dreams. This is my fourth Suburu and I love them! This was my first experience with Subaru. This was probably the smoothest car buying experience I've had. Chris was our salesman and was a very nice and laid back kind of guy. Helpful, knowledgeable, but did not have the pushy "salesman" attitude. I highly recommend asking for Chris when you visit Subaru! Thanks again!

-EDIT2- I'd like to further edit, to call out the hollow gesture made by Subaru of Mobile. They responded to this review in an attempt to save face but didn't respond to my voicemail or email sent to the contact information they provided. -EDIT- I reduced the number of stars. I got under the car today to see for myself, and it was very obvious what the problem was. There is no way their mechanic spent more than 30 seconds identifying the issue. The heat shield was indeed rusted and loose around the top of the exhaust pipe. As far as the OEM parts go, you can replace this for ~$55. What kind of outrageous markup on labor is included to make this a $700+ repair?! I didn't even need a tool, it twisted right off. I applied $20 worth of heat wrap. I also got to looking more carefully at the receipt. No where does it say Koby, so I'm inclined to believe that they are under new management. It now says Lithia/Subaru of Mobile. I'm sad to see Koby go. The receipt also shows the diagnostic fee of $155, but also includes a complimentary hand car wash line item at $0 for some reason. It was not performed. -Original Review- I'd like to start with the good. We only interacted with the service department. He was fantastic. Very polite and felt genuinely interested & concerned about the mechanical issue our car was experiencing. With labor shortages going on, he was very busy but still took the time to talk to us and make us feel that our vehicle was in good hands. For the bad, I have to start a little earlier in the story before we visited the dealership in person. Our Subaru has been making a loud rattling noise. I speculated it to be a loose heat shield on the exhaust system. My wife called to make an appointment and we were told at that point the diagnostic was $100. Upon arrival, we were told the diagnostic fee is $169. We decided the piece of mind was worth it. We wanted to make sure it was only a loose heat shield, and not something more serious. We begrudgingly agreed. The next morning we received a call from the same fantastic service manager and he explained that the issue is indeed a heat shield, and that a replacement was $500+. I declined to have the repair done. We arrived the next day to pick the car up and we were only charged ~$150. (The diagnostic fee changed 3 times! No explanation. If that isn't a red flag, what is?!) I'd also like to add, I was outraged by the $500+ price tag to replace a heat shield. I know mechanic labor rates are high, but no way that takes more than an hour to do. We won't be back.

Updated 3/2/2022: When the new owners took over the old Koby Subaru, there was some concern that the new company would do things differently...and that quality would suffer. While there were a few bobbles during the transition, and overall customer care DID seem to decline in the first couple of months, I can happily say that the new ownership is doing a fantastic job of doing things RIGHT. Quality in every aspect, from sales to parts and service. I've been extremely pleased by my recent interactions with Subaru of Mobile and will continue to patronize them. I always get treated like family here...great customer service and a very nice showroom/customer area. I do wish my service bills were cheaper, though ;) New Outback Wilderness edition in stock...totally droolworthy! Only gripe is that there is never a loaner vehicle available when my car is being serviced.

Update. spoke with the General Manager Mr. Fadi ,he got me in touch with a Mr. Robert , I was able to get a quote and brought my Forester in even with me being late for the appointment and it is getting repaired as we speak. Robert has been very accommodating and has really turned my view on the level of service here. It was just a breakdown In Communication and with the current spam call protection technologies out there was to blame for the drop in communication. Top notch service —————————————————————————— Original post Called to get a quote on getting my door fixed as it won’t open from the inside and to get the window motors replaced on my driver door and passenger right rear door and tire pressure sensor replaced on my right rear tire and spoke to a guy in parts or service , I don’t recall his name but I even provided him with parts numbers that was needed and he said they would call me back that same day. Haven’t heard a thing.

NEW OWNERSHIP & MANAGEMENT IS AWFUL. We got a recall notice and immediately scheduled service. Day of they called to cancel, saying they didn't have the parts, they would call us back. No call back. Three months later we happened by Anderson Subaru in Pensacola and asked about the part - 3 available and they immediately scheduled us. Tried Mobile back one more time to see if they could get us in - stuck in a phone loop three times only to be disconnected each time, voice mail not an option. Wondering if Roger Koby could be convinced to buy back his dealership? Love my Subaru and will be going to Anderson from this point forward.

Beyond disappointed with this place. I just spent my whole lunch break on hold with the service department trying to make an appointment for my 6,000 miles. Subaru of Mobile, if your department is too busy to make appointments, you need to make it so your customers can make their own appointments online. This is ridiculous. And no, by the way, I never made the appointment because the service department placed me on hold and never came back. I think I am starting to see why people return the cars. Not only is the 6,000 appointment unnecessarily pricey, but you can't even get in to make the appointment in the first place. When I got my subaru, I told myself I would never get another vehicle, but now? Honda isn't looking too bad right now. Get it together, Subaru of Mobile.

A few months ago, my wife was involved in an accident in Gulfport, MS which caused several warning lights to come on. I called Mobile Subaru and was put in contact with Jill Marchetti, a Service Advisor. After describing the lights on the instrument panel that were on, she and a service technician advised to not drive the vehicle but to have it brought to the dealership. We did that and the next day Jill called and said my Outback was safe to drive and the cause of the lights was due to the damage to the vehicle. We drove home and made arrangements to have repairs made at a body shop. After the repairs were made, we were going to have Mobile Subaru service the vehicle and check to make sure everything was good. Now, here is where things really get good! I called Jill and asked if they had a shuttle that could take us somewhere and pick us up afterwards. I told her my wife and I were going on a cruise out of Mobile leaving on a Saturday and returning on a Thursday. Jill told me they did not, but she would take us herself! She checked back with us a few days before we were to leave and arranged a time for us to be at the dealership. I then found out this was her DAY OFF! She was doing this on her own time! She dropped us at the cruise terminal and when we returned, she picked us up and brought us back to get our vehicle. Try to find another Service Advisor anywhere that will go the extra mile like that for their customers! If I could give more than five stars, I certainly would.

I hope this reaches other buyers and they don’t have the same experience with Subaru Mobile Alabama that I did. I found an Outback Wilderness set to arrive on the 8th of May at this dealership. I reached out online to see if it was available. The pricing and window sticker are marked clearly on their website. (Total Bait and Switch). I received a text at 8:16am from Hunter to do what I thought was the buying process, nope. Apparently the internet manager Mark is the only one capable of selling a car at their dealership. I was told he was in a meeting. At 10:34am I still hadn’t heard from anyone. I reached out to Hunter asking for an eta for a call. He said the manager is still in a meeting. I then told him don’t worry about calling me back. I’ll take my business elsewhere. He persisted so I was straight up and let him know 2 hours have passed with no call so I’ll go elsewhere to a dealership that wants to sell a car. An hour later Mike a manager called. I let Mike know I was interested in the wilderness and he proceeded to tell me there is a MANDATORY charge at their dealership. LoJac and an upholstery warranty has to be purchased at a cost of over $2,000. It’s to offset an MSRP markup. Subaru does not mark their cars up over MSRP. I’ve had 5 Subies and have never dealt with such a bait and switch tactic from Subaru. (I used to sell cars so I am very familiar with how the game works). This is why I’ve chose to own Subies. Subarus already have alarm systems and they all have Starlink. No need for an after LoJac system and upholstery protection. $200 ceramic coat or $25 scotch guard protects the upholstery fine. I contacted Subaru North America and filed a formal complaint against this stealership. Subaru NA was great as always and apologize for Subaru Mobile Alabamas deceiving and dishonest behavior taking advantage of customers.

Extremely dissatisfied with the customer service I’ve received as of late, I bought a car from them back in February, love the car, salesman was great, I bought a service payment plan (extended warranty) with my car and quickly realized I really didn’t need/ want it. I canceled it back at the end of March there was lots of confusion as to where the refund would come from, the dealership or the service plan people, both ends seemed confused after further investigation it was supposed to be the dealership, fast forward to now June, I have yet to receive a refund or hear anything back, the finance manager never returns any of my phone calls, And no one else seems to want to help me. I am extremely annoyed and irritated, so if your looking for a dealership who could care less about you/ your issues after you’ve drove off in your new car this is the place for you! :-)
