State Credit Union St, Charleston

This has to be the most inconvenient CU ever. It was setup for the employees of the State of WV, BUT unless you work on the Capitol grounds the "open" times are ridiculous. Most state employees don't get off until 4 and the lobby closes well before this. Today, my wife attempted to deposit CASH, US Legal Tender for ALL DEBTS public and private, in a small account I have. She was refused service because she wasn't on the account. Reason given..... to deter money laundering. It was $110.... good grief. I work for the State of WV, not the cartel. 2 stars only because when I can get in the folks are friendly.

Tried to get a loan here. I called and got no answer so I did an online application. Say someone will contact you within 24 hours. Called several times and left several messages. Nine days later somebody called me. I had already gone elsewhere and borrowed money plus borrowed extra to pay off a loan I had there after this experience. I paid off PNC Bank and WV Credit Union. One week later and PNC has received my payoff mailed from a bank in Fairmont, WV. Yep you guessed it, credit Union says they haven’t received anything in Charleston, WV. This used to be a great place to do business but has went straight down the tubes. Avoid the hassle and go somewhere else!!!!!!!!!!!

I have had nothing but the best of service and support from the State Credit Union. I have been banking with them for 35 years now and I have never had a complaint.

Doesn't know how keep running for computer maintenance. Evidently the IT department only works during bank hours. No other bank completely shuts down for computer work

I appreciate my state credit union and it's employees. They are knowledgeable, polite and their customer service is top notch.

What financial institutions ever close for 5 days to upgrade computer systems?? Well apparently this one does and then takes money that you don’t owe them for mistakes they made. Will be closing ALL accounts on the next business day. I’m done with PECU

I have always bank with the Credit Union and they are always nice and polite. Greeting you with a smile whenever you go to the office and that makes you feel welcome! So, I really love my State Credit Union❤

They steal your money by charging insufficient funds when you actually have money. They also use shady banking practices. Good faith banking, you're supposed to add deposits before withdrawals & also take out smaller amounts first. They do not practice this. Beware & pay attention! I'm surprised they haven't been audited & sued yet.

If you value your money, don't use the credit union. I have paid my bills... If they decide to not fulfill them, I will sue.

I be closing my account, they close down all form of communication to up date computers. Will not even answer the phone.
