Star One was my local bank for many years until I moved. I still bank with them over the miles. My experience with them has been incredible. They truly live up to their name and I give them 5 stars.

I always have an amazing visit when it comes to StarOne very easy and worry free I also got helped by someone different and even tho it wasn’t my usual agent she helped me complete a loan and some other stuff I need in no time she is awesome definitely recommend her for anyone thanks Monica B

Supervisor rude, i wish this bank was at least a little reliable. Deposit money night before, woke up check the online banking, amount is missing. Called corporate and asked what is going on, they said they have system issue but i can get money from ATM or inside the bank, i went inside and rudely and indirectly got referred to close the account if i don't like it. And they can't release my money because ATM didn't record it. I showed them proof and waiting over an hour to just get my own money back! Hated it. Noway coming back. Bad experience..

I have had an account with Star One since 1995, and NEVER had a bad experience. Professional and friendly.

Do not attempt to open an account here of any kind unless you have an established credit history, they will flatly refuse to give you a checking account.

I like the transparency of the mortgage rates and its term on the website. Also, the flexibility of refinancing without additional closing costs except the processing fees. The customers services at the branch is quite good. They are very respectable and friendly.

I've used all of Star One Credit Union's services during the last 50 years (...signing up as a Lockheed Missiles & Space Company employee, when Star One was a Lockheed institution). The interest-earning rates continue to be fine and high, the interest-owing rates continue to be low, the teller interactions continue to be excellent. But, over the past ten or so years, the quality of performance of the loan department (for housing-related loans) has been very, very poor. Mortgages, refis, and HELOCs used to be processed in a streamline and quick fashion....long-time customers with substantial collateral in the credit union would be treated well. But that no longer appears to be the case. In two loan-seeking instances over the past five years, I experienced lengthy delays, handoffs between four and five representatives, forms I filled in that were inaccurately reproduced/edited by Star One (such that I had to re-do them), and way, way too much red tape and requests for information that was not commensurate with the size of the loan being sought. At first, I thought these unfortunate circumstances at Star One were due to more severe regulations on the finance industry resulting from the 2008 housing crisis. But, disgusted with Star One, I instead sought loans from Wells Fargo Bank and no such onerous problems exist there: the rates and terms are good and comparable, the representatives are very competent and friendly, and I received loans in very short order. My recommendation is to bank at Star One but seek loans elsewhere.

They have gotten to big, I kept getting passed around to find an answer on a loan that had been approved via computer but no one could confirm it, except the auto dealer and even that couldn't get a straight answer. I just wanted to pay it off! I'm pulling my money out and closing my account.

Not to the staff whatsoever, but the consistency with the help they can(or can’t) give you is trash. Multiple times, problems that take most banks minutes to fix, StarOne seems to need days to fix
