RIP Charter Bank! I had originally posted this review for Charter Bank that doesn’t exist anymore. Same staff those are courteous and helpful in the branch but basically this bank is not good at all. Their app is out dated that’s always down. Mortgage department is a joke. They even never sent me annual mortgage statement to explain my shortfall and raised my monthly mortgage payment. When I called them I was told the reason and I requested to email me the statement and I gave her my email and even then I never received it. Bottom line. I’m considering a few banks in the town to change my bank and refinance the mortgage from the same bank. I changed 5 stars to one and going to leave the review that I posted for the Charter Bank in commas. “They're always very helpful, courteous and professional. You get a free gift when you open up an account with them.”

I miss Charter bank terribly! I have used them for years but am now looking for a new place to bank. Every one of these negative reviews are accurate. Centerstate is horrible, the app is even worse, cant read the transactions/balance. Mobile deposits used to post immediately, now I cant even see my deposits hours later. Bad move Charterbank! Look at the reviews- all 5 stars till the switch. Glad it's not just me.

My bank went from Charter to Center State and everything about it sucks now!!! Especially the app!!! You can't tell what is what now. I have been overdrawn twice now. Money is NOT available right away when you make a deposit. I will be switching banks.

Switch to Regioms Bank...use my name and we will each get $50...this merger was Terrible! Charter Bank was the greatest and along came Center State Bank and ruined everything!! If it ain't broke, dont try to fix it!! You cannot play with people's money, and the least that should've happened was to let all customers know the policy changes...this bank will go bankrupt within the year, smdh..

I'm amending my review because the issue was resolved. Angela was so very helpful and completely understanding of what had happened, and it actually turned out that my daughter gave me back her card instead of mine. Ergo the "invalid pin" problem. Angela was so very professional and courteous and so very understanding when I kept apologizing for my daughters mistake (aka mine also). She even gave us 2 gifts from her "gift bag" which are going to be VERY helpful! Thank you! I pray there are no true errors ever. She also unlocked the problem with accessing my online account. Thank you sooo much Angela! You rock!

Charter bank was great..... until they merged with Center State. I will be changing banks soon! The app used to be so easy to navigate but now its just super confusing. The online site used to be easy to navigate as well...now it's horrible. No one should be confused about their bank account! I'll be withdrawing all my money soon and go to another bank. They are going to lose A LOT of business for this.

Good luck getting them to answer the phone. I need to talk to them about a CD that has matured, but they won't answer. Well...actually the first time I called it was answered and was quickly told they were closed....and they hung up. This was at 4:15pm...well before normal closing time. I tried a few more times....crickets. Been with this bank for many many years. It's not what it used to be....at least that's MY experience. Hope yours is better.

Still has nice tellers but the banking experience online is downright primitive. Can’t pay our mortgage online from our PNC checking account. We could do that with other mortgages. Made a mortgage payment at the teller window before 2 pm, 24 hours later we are not credited and telephone help cannot see the payment either! It has cleared our PNC checking and I even have an image of it. I had to go back to the (one) branch in town to be told pretty much it’s in the works.

If you're looking for a mortgage, this is not the bank to go to. What bank in 2020 does not allow you to make a mortgage payment online, and only accepts payments at their locations or through snail mail? You can't even call to make a payment over the phone. Seems like something small, but when you live in a time when hardly anyone writes checks, it's a big inconvenience. They're definitely in the dark ages as far as technology.

Merging was the worst thing Charter could have done!! CenterState is HORRIBLE.. Debit card is constantly declined, despite me having several k in my account.. Only offer certain services at certain times of the day.. Constantly closed without giving the customers heads up.. Just a complete disaster....
