You know it's time for a change when wells fargo treats you better than your credit union....rethinking my banking needs.

When I first joined, the staff were friendly and the rates were good. Being able to exchange change in machine for deposits or cash was a nice feature. However, over the years, customer service went downhill. Rude agents, bank errors not taking my ach deposit, and not being able to access account online as only a savings account.

The previous rater is right about the snobby and unfriendly disposition of the employees. In my case, I found the tellers to be unwelcoming, which makes me feel uncomfortable. Fortunately for me, there's a shared banking (Schools Federal Credit Union) near my house in Carson I can go to, so I rarely go to this branch unless I absolutely have to.

Rene in the Downey branch was very helpful in getting me a refinancing quote on a vehicle I recently purchased. The quote he got me will save me over $4,000.00. Thanks Rene. Alex V.

Always courteous and line goes by quick. Outside atm. No bathrooms for customers. About 20 parking spots.

I've been a member since 2015. For the most part I had enjoyed my services with Southland Credit Union but I've come to not like calling for Customer Service when I need something. Most members I have spoken to over the phone are rude and do the bare minimum to offer help especially with issues with accounts or for example disputing charges. It's extremely hard as it is right now with Covid because the branches are open 9 AM to 6 PM Weekdays only and have been closed on Saturdays for sometime now. It makes it hard to actually get things done if you need to see someone. Most things cannot be done over the phone which is frustrating but understandable but most of us work the hours that the branches are open during the weekdays and with the closure on Saturdays it's become very difficult to bank. I tried to do a car loan with Southland recently and the whole process was a complete mess. Mainly for me the customer service is what's become terrible and the fact that they closed branches on Saturday's has made banking so difficult is why I decided to leave this credit union and go to another.

So basically I walked in for a car payment. My payment was declined because they dnt accept credit cards?? It's 2016. They gladly will take your credit card payment over the phone with an additional fee. Which is completely stupid. Not to mention they dnt even take AMEX; ok so w.e. I wanted my car payment changed on a certain date. I did everything I was told to do. I even called and verified if it was done. I got mail sent to my home saying my car payment was due. So I called explain the situation they couldn't do anything. I kindly asked to speak to the MGR DAVID. To whom I left a message. Despite all the negative I have experienced here at SouthLand. David made sure my request was met not only that but nothing effected my credit. As why I was so mad. Credit is everything in this world sadly. You mess with my credit I'm coming for you. Thanks again David for being a real MGR.

Everyone there looks like they hate their job. After my 1st visit I now feel intimidated to ask questions because they reply with a snobby attitude and make you feel dumb. Unfortunately that is the closest one to me so I have no choice but to go there.
