Southern Oregon Credit Services Reviews

You have yet to respond to my letters for legally required documentation of an alleged debt. Failure to do so will result in me being the most annoying, persistent person you have ever had the misfortune to encounter. I have an auto dialer and plenty of time to use for the express purpose of calling your company constantly until I have the information I require mailed to me. You will hate this. I will enjoy it. I am the queen of karens.

This company takes too long to take their money out of my account. The bill will be due one day but this company takes 3 to 7 days after the bill is due to take their money out. I’m pretty sure this company will tell other financing companies that I don’t pay on time because I missed a month of payments in July but I made my payments up in August. Plus I never plan on financing another car again. It is too much of a hassle to pay off. Plus I do not even have the car anymore and I’m still required to pay it off. It’s a waist of my money and time.

Dealt with them for debt I didn't know I had. That's why I knocked one star off. Especially since I only found out about this debt when there was a collection report on my credit report. I feel like something might have happened and there wasn't enough effort to actually reach out to me. HOWEVER the experience itself was pleasant I worked with a lady named Maria and she was super nice and made the process very quick and easy.

I was on automatic payments for an old medical bill. Faithfully mailed in the signature every 6 months for the renewal. Suddenly I am being garnished. They claimed they never received the renewal, but my husbands was mailed at the same time and had no problems. No phone call, no mail, nothing, just straight to garnishment. Called immediately to try and work something out and talked to the rudest woman ever. She basically called me scum for not paying them and refused to even talk to me. There was only 1 payment that didn't go through and it hasn't even been a month? I dont think this is legal.

I called the Dialysis center months after my husband passed away, to find out if any payment was owed, as I was in deep grief and could not handle things immediately. They gave me the phone number to this deplorable, God Forsaken agency, and I then called to find out what could be done of his medical balance. (All of the other places I called either wrote off some of the debt, or forgave it completely after his passing.) This company would not write anything off, except the 6.00 interest they charged. Not only that, but even after I called to tell them I was going to send payment in full right away, they insisted that it is "the LAW" that they send me a collection notice in the mail. If it is "the Law" I am unaware of this. I am the one who notified them I would be paying. I asked to speak with a supervisor who insisted same. After speaking with him, I understand why the place sucks at doing business. They are by the book...they have absolutely lost any humane qualities they could easily use to do a better collection business. So "By the book, that they cannot even hear what you are saying or carry on a normal conversation. SO SAD FOR THEM. ps the girl who first answers the phone is nice...possible their saving grace.

If I could give them 0 stars it would be more of a accurate review, absolutely EVIL company!!! Even during a pandemic do they take money from you , doesn't matter how poor you are , if you have kids, they do not care, absolutely hate this place with a passion!!!!

I’ve called three times now, each time offering to settle the debt for about 90% of their inflated amount. On each call the person tells me the same thing - that they are not authorized to settle a debt for less than the full amount, and that he/she would take my offer to management and get back to me. In all cases, I never heard back. They never called to say yes, no or make a counter offer. Basically their strategy is to assume that because you’re calling you must need your credit cleaned up and so they have no need to negotiate. They assume you’ll pay in full eventually and they’re probably right in most cases.

“Debt recovery as respectful as it is efficient.” Give me a break. Respectful to whom? I was told I owed a debt, I denied it as I had already paid, never heard back. Until I was sued. I called numerous times. Never called me back. I wrote a letter of denial, and was never sent anything. Now I’m fighting because my wages are being garnished. They never proved the validity of the debt I know I paid but I was told it was best to just let the garnishment happen by the incredibly rude woman I finally got to talk to.

While Sabrina is a very nice person and worked with me to pay the debt, overall I despise Southern Oregon Credit in Medford, Oregon. Why? Simple. As soon as they notified me about my debt ($700 or so) I made arrangements to get it paid in payments I could afford. They were OK with that... so for that, that was nice. However, I made it clear I couldn't possibly afford to pay $700 up front or in 3 months as they requested. While Sabrina was understanding, it was obviously clear SOC was not. Not only did I offer to give them all my information so they could easily reach me, I offered to even work/volunteer for them simply so they wouldn't report this debt to the credit agencies. Unfortunately, they reported it despite my pleading for them not to. I've worked hard to clean up my credit so this was the last thing I needed -- a fresh collection. While I will say good things about the person whom is collecting my debt -- I have NOTHING GOOD TO SAY about Southern Oregon Credit. They're in the business of not only ruining your credit but also being proud about doing it. Very sad.

I am currently working with SOC to pay off a debt and they have been very helpful! The first time I called I spoke with a man who would not set me up for payments that were less than $100/month. I then contacted the lady who originally called me and she set me up with an affordable payment plan, which helped me out tremendously! It's been about two years now of paying this off and everytime she calls to set up a new payment plan she is very sympathetic to my financial situation and works with me every time. I think it's funny that many of these other reviews are from people who "don't have the money to pay." Don't rack up a debt if you can't afford it. Thank you SOC for making this experience smooth and painless!
