Shellpoint Mortgage Servicing Reviews
B
Shellpoint is the WORST mortgage company I have ever dealt with. Our mortgage was sold to Shellpoint, and it has been a nightmare since. They didn’t pay our homeowners insurance through escrow (the funds were in it). We were on the phone for hours and hours to get this resolved. They had to “find” the closing docs to show that it is indeed paid through escrow. They then started charging us for hazard insurance stating we were a condo and needed it. We are not a condo and have never had to pay hazard insurance. My house is on an acre of land I own! It’s been two months, and it’s still not resolved. We sent them documentation from the county stating we’re not a condo and are listed as a PUD… Shellpoint is still charging us and can see we’ve sent the documents… but nothing has been done with them! Why would they do anything since they’re making an extra $400 a month on insurance we don’t need. Each time I call I’m on the phone for over and hour and NOTHING gets accomplished! I’m at a loss of what to do. At this point Shellpoint is stealing from me!
L
Is there anything lower than a score of 1 star? Because that’s what this company deserves! I still haven’t heard from anyone about our situation which was clearly their mistake! You can’t talk to anyone and I have sent them a fax, email, certified mail and message on through my account! Will they fix this?? It’s ruining our credit score! Do Not Do Business with this company!!
T
My house was destroyed on May 2020 by a tornado. This company is horrible!! My insurance company paid off right away. I had a very difficult time getting the mortgage company to release the funds so the contractor could be paid. The contractor was three weeks into the job WITHOUT any start up money! I would call the mortgagee company, get a different person each time and there would be no notes in the computer. I finally had to obtain a lawyer. I would love to get my home refinanced somewhere else! Terrible service!!
S
This company purchased my mortgage. I've been trying to call in all morning long hold times and then the phone keeps getting disconnected. When I finally do get a representative on the phone she asked me all these questions as if she's going to help me get my situation taken care of. Then she tells me she has to transfer meet your other department to get it done the commercial side. He tells me that there's no one available in that department to answer the phone to assist me and that I need to call back later. This is unprofessional this is unacceptable because I don't have all day to constantly call back to this company to try to get my situation taken care of. But I'm sure as soon as I do not make a payment they will be hounding me down like a dog. This is ridiculous I hate them and wish they never bought my mortgage
J
Shellpoint is an excellent mortgage servicer, however recently I called about my updated escrow analysis. The lady I spoke with clearly knew her job well. She started off the call reminding me that several years ago I had credit issues. She initially made me want to crawl under a rock. After she and I determined that my statement was mislabeled she then helped me see that the data was accurate so I could move on to something else. In the end she thanked me for being a valued client. I was ready for the sunlight again.

In the words of Charles Barkley "TERR-I-BO". If you can avoid this company, do so at all costs. I fell behind on my mortgage and worked extremely hard to catch up. When I became current, This company (Shellpoint Savages) made 2 attempts to take another payment (extra). I'm still trying to recoup an entire mortgage on payment that was taken out and not refunded back to me. They give you a recorded line that tells you "nothing more needs to be done on this matter". The agent assigned to your account never communicates with you. Just an overall bad company
K
If I could rate it at 0 stars that would be the preference. Their customer service and follow up on mistakes they have made is awful and they show no desire to resolve customer concerns. Since November, I have been in contact with them in regards to an error with my loan that was on their behalf. It is now March 17th and 6 customer service reps and several supervisors later still no resolution. I have to add a slot to my calendar to call each week for an update and each week I get a different response as to the status . This is ridiculous and I would not recommend them to anyone. I have made contact with a few entities at this point to get it resolved because I think 4 months is a reasonable amount of time to resolve a paperwork issue.
M
What a disaster of a company! My loan was sold to them. I have had nothing but problems. I have repeatedly told them I do not understand their statements. Well the staff that I have spoken to does not understand them either. I paid a payment to them through the Money Gram bill pay at Walmart so I would have an immediate payment conformation number. The next day they called me about my payment and they could not tell me how much I had paid. When I asked the lady why she could not tell me how much I had paid and she said she would have to look into it. I have not heard back from them regarding the matter. So the employees do not understand their own statements. Every month is the same story. I pay my payment and they say my payment has not been paid. I call them and ask to speak with a supervisor and they are the same way or one will tell you they are correcting my account and then the next day I get a call from them stating I have not paid my payment. So when I tell them I spoke with them yesterday and the person I spoke with was correcting my account they inform me that nothing has been corrected on my account. So I ask to speak with the person I spoke with the day before and give them the person’s name only to be told they don’t have anyone with that name. So I guess when you call them they give you a false name. So you can never speak to the person that was fixing your account. Does anyone know who and how to report their practices to? Someone that could or would check into their accounts receivable? Anyone know of who I can try…
L
Everyone I have talked to has been so very helpful and understanding never had anyone be rude or disrespect me in any way. They have worked with me during and after the pandemic. They have made my life less stressful
C
Shellpoint is the most inept, unresponsive mortgage servicer in the industry. I have attempted, for months, to resolve an escrow issue that surfaced when I received a delinquent tax notice. Shellpoint neglected to pay taxes and insurance on a portfolio loan of 13 properties. I had to pay taxes and insurance directly to avoid lapse in coverage or lien placement. They continue to hold over $28,000 in my escrow account and will not respond to requests to close the account and reimburse my money. This saga started Dec 9, 2021 and remains unresolved with no end in sight. Finally reported the matter to Consumer Financial Protection Bureau. Hoping they can elicit a response so I won’t have to incur the additional expense of an attorney.
J
This company is a scam. My parents mortgage was sold to this company and have refused payment ever since. Both of my parents have worked very hard to purchase this home for my siblings and I to grow up in and just like that it’s in foreclosure. To also mention refuse phone payments and turned off online payments… also tried to pay off the loan and shell point said no. Customer service is awful. They will lie straight to your face or hang up on you which ever is easiest for them. Having a loan through shell point I can guarantee that your credit will either be tanked from refusal of payment or your house will go into foreclosure. How does this company keep getting away with this?!
S
Never responded to multiple escalations and follow ups over the course of 3.5 months and likely around 10 calls with many hours wasted on the phone. Escalation team also failed to communicate - I called in each time for updates and was given incorrect misleading information. I was hung up on in my final attempt to resolve the issue 45 minutes into the call. Filed official BBB complaint for misleading, lack of communication, and requested a fee refund. Hopefully BBB helps convince Shellpoint to do the right thing.
M
Very polite and helpful. We couldn't solve the problem on the phone because I did not have all the info he needed ready. So he took the time to explain another way for me to get this done
C
This is the worst friggin mortgage company ever!!! They bought our mortgage from another company, and all was fine until we paid off our house in Nov 2021. Its now the middle of May and we are STILL waitin on the title. Call after call after call after call. Transfered here and there. The staff seem to be just as nice as they can be but NOTHIN EVER gets done!! We have sold our house but cannot collect money until transfer of title!!! And cant get the title until they send the paperwork sayin its been paid off!!!! This company is so incompetent!
C
Worst mortgage company! Our previous mortgage was was bought by Shellpoint and they screwed up on our property insurance when the transfer was complete. My amazing Farmers agent sent multiple emails and called them to fix our home insurance but Shellpoints staff failed to fix this issue. Our property was exposed with no coverage because shelpoint never paid for the insurance. I have emails and emails warning them of the issue. Shellpoint still charged me two months on insurance even though it was their fault. HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE!
C
I rue the day that Shellpoint was sold my mortgage! They are absolutely the utter worst ever in the 18 years I have been paying my mortgage. I have NEVER had a single late payment or any trouble. But it appears that Shellpoint has it their mission statement to be hands-down, the worst loan servicer EVER. They are unable to reconcile payments, they are calling even though I have OVERPAID on loan what I actually owed. They won't credit the extra payments according to some random policy they have--they call it "unapplied payments." I PRAY every day that my loan will get sold to someone who is actually a competent loan servicer! They are the pits.
B
The regular customer service is great but other departments have horrible rude people. I've been trying to pay them for 45 minutes, talked to 7 different people and had to hang up on rude people twice. For anyone looking for a new loan or to transfer, ROCKET MORTGAGE IS AWESOME. .
W
You don't do as you say. I've requested something more than once now and you refuse to fix it. You send out mortgage statements late so if I'm late sending it I pay a late fee even though you sent payment statement late. Wow. You bought my mortgage and you botched up the transfer of that. You get a one star rating from me because there is no zero rating Can't even get my name right on statement.
S
Please please please do not deal with Shellpoint mortgage company. Our loan was sold to them and they are the WORST mortgage company to deal with. Their disservice is awful as well as the agents in compliance, one by the name on Latina J. Whim instead of listening to my complaint you can hear her putting the phone down each time I attempted to speak with her. I am hoping and praying my loan is sold again or I can refinance with another servicer.
V
This should be a ZER0 star reviewe. We had an assumable VA loan at a great rate. Relocated out of state and sold the house. This company had no idea how to handle the assumption. There is no one you can speak to directly. You have to start at ground zero every time you call because "the assumption department has no phones!!" We almost lost our house buyers due to the ineptitude of NewRez dba Shellpoint. Borrower beware!!!
o
They are absolutely the worst. I have a commercial loan and they have reported it under my personal name instead of the corporation that owns the property and that is on the deed. Customer service is unable to answer questions and cannot transfer to a different department. They are actually worse than a one star rating. Stay away.
T
Working with Shellpoint has been challenging and frustrating. They rely on snail mail communication and are unresponsive to documentation sent. Update: We own a condo in a 180 unit complex. We have home owners insurance. The condo association also has insurance for the entire complex. The association policy lists the range of addresses. Shellpoint continues sending letters and adding fees since our unit # is not individually listed on the condo association policy. Our unit # is within the range of addresses and no specific unit # is listed in the association policy. Maybe Shellpoint is fine if you're in a single family home, but Shellpoint's inability to use common sense for our condo is discouraging.
L
Worst. Company. Ever. And I mean ever. I’m dying to have my mortgage sold off. Begging for it to be sold off. They are constantly going around in circles with excuse after excuse. I finally called an attorney.
M
Can I give this company 0 stars. I was a victim of hurricane Ida. Completely destroyed my home and surrounding area. I have never had a late payment in 23 years since I bought the house. Reached out to customer service when I was finally able to get to through to them ( my town had no electricity, running water, internet acces for 2 months following the storm) they told me well we are sorry about your situation but we still have to report the payment as delinquent. Not only did they do that, but they added an extra late payment that was not late. Destroyed my A1 credit. If you can avoid this company, PLEASE do.
A
One of the worst companies I have dealt with. I had my mortgage on forbearance due to COVID, and I started making payments after that. They reported to the credit bureau as missing payments. Based on the agent I talked with, they redistributed the payment to the previous months instead of the current one, without my permission or even informing me. In the next month, my monthly payment went higher than it should be; I called to find out they added two insurance policies on my account at the time my insurance policies are current and active. I had to call my insurance company to send them to Shell Point fax number, which either does not work or nobody gets the documents from, so whenever you call to follow up, they would say they have not received any document. When you talk with them, they would never admit their mistake, instead, you have to be held responsible for their mistakes.
W
Wow. Stunningly bad policy. During the loan modification process (covid shut our business down) I made 3 "trial" payments as requested by Shellpoint. They STILL REPORTED ME LATE during that time!! BEWARE because they won't tell you that even when you ask them directly. So I now have late payments on my credit even though they cashed my check for the payments. Unbelievable!! And the supervisors have zero understanding or empathy as to why I'm so upset. Just robots unable to process anything except for what they are told.
L
New Rez services the mortgages for three of our rental properties. When New Rez got the insurance bill for all three homes, they paid the total on one house and the correct amount on the other two, causing our mortgage payment to go up almost $400 a month. They refused to fix the problem for three months! We even escalated the case and nobody wanted to do what was necessary to enter the correct information. Even after they corrected the info, they did not do an escrow analysis to get our payment back where it belonged. These people only care about one thing - taking advantage of their customers and holding as much money as possible. We are so displeased with this company that we are refinancing all three mortgages with Bank of America.
Q
Worst mortgage company I've dealt with. 1% of my mortgage payment was late because the amount I had to pay went up slightly. I paid the amount I missed the following month as well as a $115 late fee and they still reported me to the credit bureau and damaged my credit. Jesus, if this is how you treat your customers, I'd hate to be an enemy. Please don't refinance or buy a house with this nightmare company.
C
Had a home loan through this company that I paid off 10 years early. 2 years later I still have not received the paperwork for my house. I've called several times only to be promised they would snail mail it still nothing. Called back and raised a commotion finally after an hour on the phone was promised the info would be e-mailed to me within 72 hours that was 6 months ago still no email !!! DO NOT I REPEAT DO NOT trust this place !!!
C
I contact them and i get responses . They removed my PMI ( Principal Mortgage Insurance ) , Although my PMI could have been removed sooner , after jumping a few hoops it was removed and I thought they could have made it even more difficult to remove - so iam happy that PMI is finally over . WISCONSIN Go Packers Go !
A
Shellpoint is trying to collect on a supposed debt concerning a property that was sold eight years ago. They are threatening to turn it in to the IRS as unreported "income." They need to speak with the title company about why the original mortgage holder did not receive funds, not me. However, their threats hold no water. My sole source of income is Social Security Retirement. My current home and property is valued at under $150,000, therefore it falls under my state's homestead law and cannot be touched.
A
This company, as other reviewers have stated, is filled with incompetent employees, but I suspect that may be the company's ethos. They have not paid our home insurance premium from our escrow account, despite three phone calls in which I was assured it would be taken care of within 48 hours. Two months later, my insurance company has still not been paid and they are preparing to drop my insurance. This shell of a company is completely worthless and should be avoided at all costs.
t
IN MY Opinion, This company is no good. Better have all your ducks in a row dealing with this money hungry company. Small company looking to put people out of their homes and think they can resale and gain a profit off of your exspense.
R
My insurance company and also myself have sent proof of insurance 6 times over three months. I even called and confirmed receipt once, but now they claim they haven't received it. They continue to threaten me with forcing me to pay for the most expensive insurance they can find if I don't provide proof of insurance. At this point I almost think someone is just playing a joke on me. Lenders, brokers and borrowers should avoid them if they value customer service at all.
B
Terrible company! It’s always something and the communication is terrible. My loan was sold to this company and I’ve tried refinancing multiple times but their underwriter is unfamiliar with travel nursing as an occupation. They continuously come up with a reason to why I cannot refinance. Customer service people don’t understand me when I do call, it’s like talking to a toddler.
o
Trilby Randall was my assign primary of contact and throughout my experience with her she was so patient and always respond back on time, thank you for all you do, I’m more than satisfied for the service she provided.
H
Insurance department is slow and has no respect for customers. They hold people’s money for unreasonable amounts of time and make them beg to access their own funds. Shameful!
D
The service is okay until you really need assistance in correcting errors. I was on the telephone 50 minutes with the escrow and then Kristie wants to transfer me - Ring around the Rosie passing the buck - UNBELIEVABLE!!!
L
I was assisted kindly by a representative of Shellpoint Mortgage Servicing who helped me locate my mortgage interest statement so I could complete my taxes. She provided excellent service in a professional manner.
P
Crook mortgage company. They were the cause of late fees and would not refund us for their error. CS is just awful for us.
D
Shell Point mortgage company has got to be the absolute worst mortgage company around I started with countrywide which was wonderful which went to Bank of America which was bad to rGeen tree that was worse& Ditechwas even worse However Shell Point is absolutely horrific they refuse to email you when you make an mortgage payment which at least the other mortgage companies would do I have an adjustable rate they can never justify why when the interest rate is higher my mortgage rate interest rate goes down and whenwhen the interest rates are lower my mortgage interest rate goes up when you talk to a supervisor and you ask for numbers he doesn't have them he says he has to go and request them they don't give you straight answers basically basically they are in such bad financial shape that they're checking it out on their customers more people should Sue Shell Point mortgage and they have a mass of amount of losses against them thank you very much
J
Paid off 30 year variable loan in 20 years. Told there was no prepayment penalty ( though there were hidden fees not explain to me,, we saved by paying off 10 years early, less than $800, though it was a subprime loan. Sorry company , do ur research, stay away from these money hungry uncaring people
G
Absolutely horrible. The worst company I have ever had to deal with. Expect the worst. I don't even know where to begin.
E
Absolutely horrible. My father's mortgage was sent to them for collections after he passed away but before we could sell his property to satisfy the mortgage. They were extremely rude, and badgered me week after week with threats of foreclosure, despite this being an Estate situation. Horrible company.
J
Shellpoint is less than responsive when attempting to get to a person with any authority. No corporate phone number listed.
R
Customer service is excellent with easy and quick contact via phone as needed Overall my interactions have been APLUS
J
The absolute worst mortgage company I have ever dealt with. They took over from Ditech and have messed up mutiple times every month. Terrible customer service that is mostly debt collection without any debt or owed payments. Insurance charges for failure on their part to constantly acknowledge the receipt of proof 3 times this year.. Then apologize after they find the proof. DON'T USE THIS COMPANY. THEY ARE SCAM ARTISTS.
K
The absolute worst mortgage company you will ever find. They are incompetent. As others have stated, you'll never find anyone's supervisor. They sent the wrong payoff amount to my title company during a refinance. Then charged me bogus fees for still having an outstanding balance. Terrible communicators and completely unprofessional. I hope I NEVER have to deal with these people and this company ever again. Also, they pay "bot" companies for the five star reviews you read. There is absolutely no way these folks have accurate ratings when it comes to positive remarks. AWFUL.
B
I hate these ppl. If you're looking for BAD ATTITUDE, UNPROFESSIONAL just all around JACKED UP... She'll point is where you need to go. This place Ain't worth a dag-gone-dime. They must hire all their employees from WITCHES-ARE-US😡🤬🤬
J
They are the worst mortgage company to deal with. They acted like they were really concerned and compassionate during the “Pandemic” which was a big fact lie!!! I started a repayment plan back in July and now they are reporting my account as late payment on my credit report. My credit score has taken a significant decrease because of this action placed against my account. The purpose of the “Forbearance” was to avoid this same issue while I was out of work. I have other family members who have their mortgages with well known mortgage companies and they to are also on a repayment plan right now. Their credit has not been affected at all because of their repayment plan. I wasn’t made aware of this action would’ve taken place if I was put on a repayment plan. I have never asked them for anything before and when I really needed them they failed me! I saw the reviews earlier this year about them not being so helpful with other consumers trying to get their mortgages back on track, but I didn’t think this was going to happen. I even asked if I could put the balance at the end of my loan like other mortgage companies were doing and they told me no I couldn’t do it and a repayment plan was the only option! They are just liars and crooks in my book!
K
My dad passed away and they took over the mortgage during the process of selling the house. They are a debt collector making me jump through hoops to get the information needed for settlement when I’m listed on the account. A debt collector who doesn’t seem to want to collect a debt???
J
Has to be one of the worst companies to deal with. I had a forbearance in motion during the pandemic. Once I requested to start making my payments I was put into a trial period to show I can make my payments. I made all three payments during the trial period on time and now they have reported to my credit company as all late payments. I have proof that all payments are on time and they are reporting all my payments as late. My credit has dropped significantly because of my late payments. I have done nothing wrong. I wrote an email to the department because that’s what I was told to do. No one has responded and my credit is going down the gutter for doing absolutely nothing wrong. Chase and every other major bank does not do it like this. Horrible company and highly would not suggest. They will not take care of you!
J
Customer service is horrible. I can never get into my account. I always have to talk to someone. In today day of computer opportunities, why do they insist on making wait for two hours to talk to someone. I can’t even check my account. It took almost two weeks to have them respond to a request for 1099 tax form. That is unacceptable.
T
If I could give these incapable Shellpoint employees a quarter of a star, which would be giving them the benefit of the doubt, I would. Everyone I have worked with at Shellpoint, particularly the Insurance Claims Dept in Troy, Michigan, have performed at a less than acceptable standard. Nobody seems to care about returning phone calls or emails, and everyone seems to have the "better than God banker attitude" that most of us have dealt with at some point.
R
I am a very satisfied customer. They were able to refinance my home at a lower interest rate and made my monthly payments alot lower than my previous mortgage company. They are very helpful and understanding. This Mortgage Company is like no other. 5 Stars and I would highly recommend them to others.
G
Each time I had the opportunity to require the service of Shellpoint Mortage, the representatives have always been attentive, and it reflect in their tone of voice the concern of my account. I can truly say, the focus is entirely on me and my account.
S
They purchased my mortgage from my original lender. I did not sign up with them. They are AWFUL. My payments are automatically sent via electronic transfer from my bank each month. However, for 2 MONTHS IN A ROW now, Shellpoint states they did not receive the payment and for 2 MONTHS IN A ROW, I am now forced to spend countless hours on hold, working my way to speaking with a Payment Supervisor, not to mention the time spent involving my bank for proof of the payment. And for 2 MONTHS IN A ROW, I've proven that they received the payment, but didn't apply it to the account. This is 2021. I shouldn't have to spend time babysitting them to make sure my payments are applied. And FYI, while working your way, begging to speak with a Supervisor, they get frustrated and disconnect the call.
A
Thieves!!!!They want to do business with my money. My monthly scrow payment (insurance & taxes) is $400,but They charge me $926.,for a extra $6000 /year.I’ve been asking to change to not available.I’m taking the matter to court;my money should be in my bank account, not Shellpoint bank account.Terrible mortgage company, can’t wait to payoff the loan.
N
Absolutely horrible company. I will never refer anyone to this company. I have a client with a perfect record with Shellpoint and a perfect credit history until Shellpoint raised her mortgage without earning her verbally and she was an automatic withdrawal so she didn't see the $20 Change and the minute she found out it was fixed but had a perfect history with Shellpoint and they are making it so she can't buy a hone now. They will destroy your credit and there is no one who cares and no one to talk to. NEVER USE SHELLPOINT.
D
Shellpoint has been so helpful throughout the pandemic crisis. I wish I had gotten the mans name who recently assisted me with my call. As he should be commended for his kindness! I know this sounds to good to be true but it is the truth!
R
My experience with Shellpoint Mortgage Service has been by far better than any of the other companies I have dealt with in the past.It is easy to use their online service to get the information regarding my loan. When talking to them by phone, I found that the different agents I talked with were courteous and professional. Whenever There was a delay in returning phone calls I always received a warm apology.
T
Horrible - customer service is awful, they collect money and don't pay taxes , which adds penalties. After a calling them every other day for a month They continued to string me along, saying they were taking care of the taxes, that the processing was taking a long time with the county, to just hold tight and it would be taken care of. Only to pass my loan and the late fees incurred to a different company. The other reviews have the same issues. They are scamming people. Customer service always said there was no one that they could escalate to. At the end, they blamed it on the previous mortgage company and we’re not responsible for any fees. This company is a scam! AVOID AT ALL COSTS.
B
Shellpoint's recent website updates seemed to not have affected my ability to get to my statements and various other points of my mortgage account with them. That was until my last attempt to download my monthly mortgage statement (I thought)! I simply could not sign-in. After multiple attempts and following the on-screen prompts, I relented and contacted Shellpoint's customer service. The young lady that helped me was professional, knowledgeable and seemed willing to keep working to get my situation corrected. She made many suggestions for me to try, and even though she could see my account and could not find anything amiss that would thwart my signing-in, I still couldn't get in! That was until she asked if I was sure I was using the correct user name and password. Like most everyone else, I let my browser supply the magic words without thinking and just hit "enter." When she asked me about the sign-in info it made me take a close look at what the browser was showing, and that's when I found that my browser was actually showing two usernames, and the first one had two letters in it transposed. The two user names, one sitting above the other, at a quick glance appeared alike, but that wasn't true and I was simply hitting "enter" without looking closely. I deleted the first entry and immediately signed-in. The entire problem was my fault, but the Shellpoint representative sounded genuinely happy to have spent the time helping me work through something I should have seen myself. I can't say enough about how pleasant, understanding and patient she was. I wish all company representatives could be more like her. Thank you my dear!
J
WORST MORTGAGE COMPANY EVER. This company recent purchased my mortgage and it has been the worst experience I’ve ever had with a lender. This company has “lost” my mortgage payment not once, not twice, but FIVE TIMES!!! Even with proof from my bank that they cashed all my checks they still don’t acknowledge the fact that they screwed up. They charge insane amount of fees for anything and everything. I wouldn’t be surprised to see their lunch order charged to my mortgage and show up on my statement. I would never reccomened this mortgage company to anyone out there. STAY AWAY
B
Most Representatives, that I have dealt with, have always been Courteous, knowledgeable and Respectable. Not many issues at all with them. Shellpoint Reps. , are always on Point. They Have always been able to resolve all of My issues, so far.
S
This is a horrible company. My husband & I have owned a mobile home brokerage business for over 27 yrs & pay off loans for our sellers frequently when we close on their sale. We pd this co off over 5 mo ago & they still haven't signed off the lien or sent us titles. We were informed when we called that they only send titles to the customer on the loan even though our company has a notarized authorization for them to send them directly to us & they cashed "our company check". When we said to them then "it seems we are pretty much screwed" the SUPERVISOR said "yes you are"! The customers also has contacted them several times and they still haven't sent the lien release or titles. Worst we have ever dealt with for sure!!!
D
Very positive experience overall. I received regular phone calls updating me on the status of my documents and what to expect next. My designated customer service rep was very professional and knowledgeable during the entire process.
K
Shellpoint Mortgage seems NOT to care about the homeowner. They have nice customer service reps that are NOT informed about how to handle mortgage loans. I am still waiting on a escrow analyze for my home that by laws of my state should have automatically generated in February 2021..we are in the last week of March 2021.(Still NOTHING) Called several times for a resolution to be told everything other than what is correct information. Looks like I will have to seek legal counsel in order for things to get accomplished. They are not within legal rights of withholding this information from the homeowner!!!
J
Very helpful, answer all my questions in a way I could understand. Thanks. Pictured, my Pride & Joy 1973 Mach-one.
M
They do a great job and they answer my questions with clarity and kindness.
W
Shellpoint is a great company I never have a problem with any of the customer service representatives. They are always super nice and help me take care of every situation that I’ve had. great company and awesome people working here!
T
I decided to increase my payments to Shellpoint Mortgage to build up escrow to cover additional expenses as may occur. The Agents were professional, through, polite, knowledgeable, and listened. Super people, super place to have a mortgage. I am very pleased of my decision to go with Shellpoint Mortgage.
J
Shellpoint has been so great with all my Mortgage needs. During the pandemic I got behind and they helped me with some deferred payments. After things got better for me with my income situation I was able to pay the back payment and get all up to date on my Mortgage. The person in charge of my account was so amazing and understanding, I never felt like a failure for being in temporary trouble.
J
Great Customer Service! They had all the right facts and were very upbeat to work with.

For some reason I received mail from Shellpoint regarding who actually owns my loan (Citi). Nothing changed on my end but I called to verify everything was okay. The person that took my call was professional and did a great job.
B
This company bought our mortgage from failing Ditech. Ditech misplaced funds from our mortgage payments and sold our mortgage to shellpoint. Shellpoint then reported our mortgage 180 days past due due to ditechs clerical errors. Ditech paid the misrouted amount and assumed fault for the error. Shellpoint now refuses to remove our PMI even though we are well below the 80% our mortgage. This is a rip off company thatwill rob y ou as soon as they get the opportunity.
R
The person I talked with was very friendly and provided the information I asked for, but I was disappointed in the additional requirements to pay off my 2nd mortgage. Though I have been having payments drafted from my account for years, I could not have them draft the payoff payment from my account. They would not take a phone payment either. They required that I get a certified check, which my bank doesn't provide. I got a cashier's check instead, which cost me an additional $10, and I mailed it Priority Mail, which cost me another $7.65. So on top of the additional $10.35 they charged me to pay off the loan, I had to pay an additional $17.65. They could have had their money the day I called and I wouldn't have been out any additional money. They need to think about offering that option to customers in the future.
P
They all lie and nobody knows what their job is they steal your moneyevery chance they get. I am so sick
A
Customer service employee was friendly, clear and concise; no wasted time.
H
I am in a two year battle with shell point. After my husband passed away our home loan was only signed by him, but we added me to the deed a week later. Shellpoint would Not let me take over payments(long story) even though I had a will and probate on my side. To date I am still fighting with them . I strongly recommend you NOT use this company.
P
Terrible company. I have a place they hold the mortgage on that flooded. (they didn't request that I have flood insurance, but I purchased it anyway). The place flooded and insurance company paid out right away. It took Shellpoint almost 6 months to release any of the funds back to me. Since they were listed as the mortgage holder it required they sign the check too. The place just flooded again and the same run around with them. That mixed on top of them requiring that I pay escrow, then they forget to pay the insurance payment causing a lapse for another place. This went from a great company 3-4 years ago to a very sorry one. I have already refied out of 4 of my mortgages from them to much better lenders and have just a few more to go then I am done with this pathetic crook of a company. I highly recommend that you do not use Shell Point aka New Rez
E
Called me, asked me to verify my own identity, and then hung up on me. Can't get information about paying my mortgage, and love telling me they are a debt collection company. Yeah, it's a f'ing mortgage, don't treat me like a deadbeat.
S
Shellpoint’s employees go beyond to help resolve your issues. Thank you.
J
Since having my mortgage moved from Ditech in Dec. 2019, I have had a pleasant experience with Shellpoint. I have had to call in and talk to someone on several occasions about things from escrow, to payment details and cancelling out my PMI. I have never had any issues and have been taken care of very quickly and the team is very knowledgeable. So far I am quite pleased with how my mortgage is being serviced.
M
Horrible outfit. I closed on the sale of my home and my escrow money hasn't been returned 3 weeks later. Its funny they charge for money on a daily basis...but when they are holding my money and making interest. They don't pay anything. What a horrible outfit
a
Uninformed staff/customer service. Although sometimes I am able to get someone who knows what they're talking about while most of the time they are in or misinformed. No cohesiveness or transparency in this company. While my original mortgage company was very easy to work with and professional, I had had nothing but problems since my mortgage got sold to S P.
N
On March 23rd I called because I accidentally scheduled a phone payment without knowingly it would post that day. I thought I would have the option of scheduling my own date. Needless to say I did not. After several attempts and a few hang ups giving them the benefit of the doubt, I found later on that they were having phone problems. After finally speaking to a live person. I received nothing but professionalism and kindness. The first woman I spoke to was Jillian who was the best. She saw that my payment was there to process that night and could not help me cancel it. She would have to transfer me to someone that could. My first thought was don't transfer me because I might be disconnected. I was wrong. She stayed with me on the line checking in on me every few minutes to keep me informed that she still trying to get a hold of someone who could help me. How thoughtful, kind and sympathetic she was She then transferred me to Barbara who was also kind, professional and did the job. She reassured me that the payment had been canceled and scheduled for another day. I thank both of them from the bottom of my heart.❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ !!!!!! Shellpoint Servicing should commend them and be grateful that they are compassionate people. Thank you again , Nancy
K
Shellpoint has been the worst thing to happen to my finances, ever! After taking over the loan from my previous servicer, they do not reach out to me about anything related to my account. I did not even know they had the account until after the first payment was already late. Their customer service is no help. I have tried reaching out to them through their website, but they never get back to me. If they are your new servicer, refinance asap. I would give this company no stars, but unfortunately that is not an option.
C
I have never ever had a bad moment with Shellpoint. We have been stuck here and there for a mortgage payment we couldn’t make in a timely manner. The customer service really is outstanding. Never have I had to speak to a rude person. Actually I like that they are just down to earth people doing their job and have treated me kindly. I receive paperwork in a timely manner and I have never been told they haven’t received anything from me. Good job Shellpoint!
a
representative was able to answer most of my questions, but not all.
R
Rep was extremely nice but my mortgage pmt. was taken out of my checking acct. twice and is still not back in my acct. Which is causing me hardship on me paying my other bills.
A
Their privacy policy is horrible, they sell your personal information to multiple other companies and they make it very difficult to opt out. It shows a complete lack of respect for their customers.
D
Found they put on my credit several payments they said was late and I went and found where they were on time through my bank. So called and was on phone several hours and talked to multiple agents and they found were they made mistake and they tell me there is nothing can do and give us email address for lose litigation and we have emailed them several times over 2 months and no response at all and have records of everything what do I do this is ridiculous I guess a lawyer next.
J
Bought my mortgage from my previous lender. I was with them for 18 months and I applied for a refinance. They lead me to believe that I was approved and drug me out for 6 months only to inform me that they were unable to get the loan done. 😡😡 I was not happy with them at all....I applied with another lender and closed the loan in 30 days .
D
After finalizing my Loan Modification Agreement, the moment I complete another 6 payments, I will promptly find a new mortgage company to refinance with, making sure to NEVER work with your HORRIBLE company again. I will even make sure the company I refinance with agrees to never transfer or sell my loan to New Rez/Shellpoint. If they will not agree to this, I will find another mortgage company who will. Dealing with your company throughout this process has been one of the most stressful, frustrating, infuriating experiences of my life. I acted in good faith the whole way through - including exiting the Covid-forbearance after 3 months (when I could've continued for 3 more months), paying the "trial payments", and constantly calling and trying to get things moving forward, while your employees tried everything they could to confuse the situation repeatedly, refused to allow me to speak to anyone at a higher level, and, after MONTHS of trying, when I finally coerced my point-of-contact to have a manager call me back - he didn't know the first thing about the four page letter I uploaded to your escalations department through your web portal (and I asked my point-of-contact to make sure he did). All the while, you continued to make the process about as difficult and unforgiving as possible. Most of your employees whom I spoke with have poor communication skills, limited-and-often-incorrect information, and seem intent on ensuring I had neither the information I need, nor any feeling of customer satisfaction. Also, from the information I found, there seems to be no legal requirement that I hear that a call is an attempt to collect a debt and any information obtained will be used for that purpose; however, I understand wanting to tell that fact to customers, but NOT THREE TIMES ON ONE CALL (once by the recording that answers, once by a recording when transferred, then again when a person finally answers). Furthermore, if I have heard that on a dozen or more calls to you previously, and on the 20th call, TO THE SAME PERSON WHO KNOWS WHO I AM, AND KNOWS THAT I HEARD IT, AND KNOWS MY FRUSTRATION IN HEARING IT AGAIN, and I ask to skip hearing it again - sometimes even saying it to THEM to you that I know, then there IS ZERO NEED and ZERO REQUIREMENT under the law (or from the perspective of a reasonable person) to say it again to me. I was FORCED to work with your company when my mortgage loan was sold to you by United Wholesale Mortgage... so the LEAST you all could've done is been helpful. HORRIBLE, HORRIBLE company. Cannot wait for 6 payments to post so I can leave you in the dust forever.
d
I like working with Shellpoint. The servicing department has been very helpful to me. I especially like that they do not outsource their call center reps. I can’t stand it when I call a company for help and get a rep that clearly sounds very far away, there is usually a pause in the line giving you the impression no one is there ... not to mention having to deal with and comprehend the broken English making the reps quite difficult to understand! Their reps have been very informative, kind and polite! And I just love that South Carolina accent! My mortgage was transferred from PHH Mortgage, I’m glad to be DONE with PHH. I’m in good hands. People need to be patient when calling, these are tough times and they are quite busy I’m sure!
A
"Their system was updated" and thus marked a payment from 3 months ago as late, only we find out about it 3 months later from a credit report. It also doesn't update to show the current payments made. You know how fun it is to be a middleman between a credit reporting agency and a mortgage company that tells you something different every time (every day) you call to check on the status of your account that THEIR system made an error on? So fun. So timely. It's 2020 and we are still waiting on letters to be mailed? Has Shellpount heard of email? Absolutely ridiculous and stress levels for days and days.
D
They must pay for fake reviews because there is no way people can have such good experiences with Shellpoint/NewRez. Stay away! Terrible company with poor ethics. We had the unfortunate experience of having our mortgage bought by this greedy company. They charge you a fee to make payments. When it came time to sell our house this company fought me on giving me a mortgage payoff. Then when it came time to paying off mortgage they rejected my payment because of their own "policies" that no one can quote me or repeat twice. Different story from every person. I feel bad if you have to work with these sharks.
C
Shellpoint has given nothing but the best service. I can monitor my loan activities, statements. Shellpoint pays my property taxes and insurance on time and as for me it's a great company especially during this pandemic. I hope they continue to service my loan. They have a great customer service team. Keep up the good work. Thank you.
C
Any time I have called or emailed with a question or an issue, it has been addressed and rectified within a reasonable amount of time. I have never had a problem with any of the agents or reps that we have spoken to. My hubby and I are both on disability and only receive our checks once a month on the second Wednesday. An agent was able to set up auto payments on different days of the month for the next 6 months. This has made our lives easier and enabled us to stay current.
K
Our mortgage was being serviced by B of A for over 10 years and it was horrible. Always a nightmare dealing with any of the mortgage representatives! We are so grateful that B of A sold our mortgage to Shellpoint! We no longer have any issues with getting a hold of a representative and every single representative has been knowledgeable, able to resolve/ answer problems/ questions. We give them an A+ Customer Service rating!
J
My wife and I are in our sixties, the majority of our dealings with Shellpoint mortgage have been positive. They were very accommodating with us at the start of the pandemic and recently because of a suggestion from one of their representatives! VERY IMPORTANT!! I spoke to a man named James, and after he told me several times that he was proud of me calling for help, he told me that most people would not try. He shared with me how a man told him and his wife that if they used bi-weekly payments they would save thousands of dollars in interest and they did! We only have 5 years left on our mortgage, but, we're on bi-weekly payments now. Anyone who wants to save tens of thousands of dollars in interest! Needs BI-WEEKLY!
B
My biggest complaint with Shellpoint is that it is nearly impossible to reach a representative to make a payment when I want to use two bank accounts or pay additional principal as I usually do. I would estimate that the last 12-15 attempts have led to a recording stating that we are unable to complete the call at this time. At first I thought it was the current COVID surge. Now after several months I see it is standard practice. Finally was able to select an option other than make a payment and found someone willing to work. So I end up mailing a check with the extra principal. Looking forward to paying you off and not having to deal with this anymore.
D
This company is awful. Our mortgage was sold to them from Dietech. We haven't had a late payment since 1998. I tried to pay a payment on our account for months. They would set it up and then it wouldn't come out of our bank account. No one knows what is going on. It cost us dearly , because they reported our payment late we were ready to close on another home and our financing fell through because they reported us late when they would not except payment. This company has destroyed our hopes and dreams.
A
I’m giving 4 stars for fact that this Mortage company has so many bad reviews I thought they never really done me bad. I was with them for several years after my mortgage was sold to them from ditech. My payments were always on time they reported all of them on time. They actually helped my credit score enough for me to refi through a different company for a much lower rate. I had no problems getting my escrow back or anything. If u make your payments on time u won’t have any problems whatsoever out this company. My experience with shell point was a good experience
D
This company took over my 20 year loan March of 2020 and placed insurance on my home when I have my own insurance and has double charged me .post my account to show delinquent and reported it to the credit bureau. I have tried since March of 2020 to get them to correct the records but no one will help me. My insurance company and myself both have repeatedly sent the insurance information to them and I continue to pay their insurance but they still show me delinquent no one will help rectify the situation in fact they are quite rude when you call in like I committed a criminal action or something I've never missed a payment on my loan in 20 years and have all the bank records as well. They're trying to charge me $3,500 that I don't owe them. They have their only email blocked so you cannot send emails, the fax# is always busy, no one will help. This company should be shut down. Curious how this company still has 4.4 stars when most of the reviews are 1s.
K
I highly recommend if this is your mortgage lender to forgo an escrow account. They incorrectly paid my neighbors property taxes in addition to my own in December 2021. I’ve spent over 3 months trying to get them to request a refund on behalf of my escrow. My town tax collector has been so helpful but Shellpoint has been corrupt, unresponsive, giving me the run around that they are taking care of it whenever I get through to a human being. And yet months later my town tax collector says no one from shellpoint has yet to reach out. I’ve filed better business bureau complaints and just receive formal generic email responses back. I’ve honestly never seen anything like it.
J
customer service is polite and tries to be helpful as they can. My experience with this company though, feels like they don't have their stuff together. Multiple errors on my mortgage statement and difficult to get to the bottom of it. Not great follow through in communication, except for asking me to review their company.
J
I would not recommend doing any business with them what so ever. They refuse to do what they are legally obligated to do when it comes to releasing Certificates of Title. They then request that you jump thru hoops before they will help and once you've done all they ask, they then say they cannot assist. They prefer to only communicate via email with no names or positions just a random anonymous email address and will not provide information on where to send legal notices to either. Stay as far away from them as possible unless you want a headache and to work with a company that lacks integrity all together.
S
I don't recommend this company to anyone. They are crooked and try to make you pay for escrow insurance and it makes your payment go up. We've been through burning fire with this company. We have our own insurance but they'll pay it up for a year without your consent and that's when your payment goes up. We have provided proof after proof and they still find away to screw you over.
R
Shellpoint took our $300 payment to Recast our mortgage loan but never did it. They basically stole our $300 and I cannot get anyone to resolve this issue. We mailed the Recast paperwork and the checks in the same envelope. Interesting how they were able to cash our checks but somehow misplaced our paperwork so here we sit with the same loan payment and no recast. What a scam of a company.
Y
Horrible company. I've been trying to remove my PMI for over 3 months now after doing a renovation and increasing the house value. They took the payment to process an appraisal but they never contacted me back. I tried reaching out to them frequently and they say they will get back to me but they never do so. It's very frustrating to have to pay for something that I should not be paying for and they are not willing to help. Sucks that I am stuck with this horrible company that does not care about their customers.
C
I would give them a zero stars if that was an option. It can take months for Shellpoint to respond if you have any issues with your PMI. We requested the PMI to be removed and that request was automatically denied. I had to call literally for months to get them to agree to do any kind of an appraisal on the property in order to show that the value had increased enough to drop the PMI. I was told I had to mail a check which I did. I waited several more weeks, no response. I called again and was told that the check must have been lost in the mail so I should pay the appraisal fee over the phone, which I did. Then several weeks later, as I obviously had to pay to put a stop payment on the said lost check, Shellpoint tried to charge me late fees for the check They trying to cash after already having paid for the appraisal over the phone. There was nothing but confusion and hassle to finally get Shellpoint to do an appraisal. after that the PMI was finally canceled . But from the original request to drop the PMI I paid months of the PMI and Shellpoint denied our request to Appraise the property to see if that all you had increased as much as we knew it had. Not to mention the hassle of trying to talk to representatives who can’t do anything and Shellpoint will not allow you to talk to the PMI department directly. So nothing was ever resolved with my understanding of what was happening. The customer service was atrocious and we lost a lot of money to Shellpoint being forced to pay PMI that we should not have had to pay. Not to mention the hours of time trying to work this out and get them to even be willing to do an appraisal in the first place.
R
The worst mortgage company ever. They work against their clients. Non of they say is true, they take money from the government to provide help to their clients, but in reality they lie to their customers and provide terrible customer service, nothing of the government help go to clients. I have never talked to someone who knows what is he/ she doing? They should be investigated and lawsuited for their corruption.
J
I bought my home 12/13/2014. Never missed a payment, replaced all the windows with top of the line double pain gas permeable ones, added an enclosed sunroom with the same windows threwout, also had gutters installed. The last appraisal showed my home more then doubled what it was when I bought it. Hurricane Ida hit and destroyed my home. Insurance paid the maximum allowed on my claim. The check was written to Shellpoint and myself. The last adjuster rated my home at 90% completed. I am self repairing my home. I have over $30k I've spent on materials yet Shellpoint wants to see all paid receipts AND my statements to prove I've paid my bills! I could understand (somewhat) wanting my credit card statement but to ask for my bank statement to make sure my debit went threw?? Im at 90% completed and only have my bedroom to texture and paint and floorboards to install. That's the only things left to complete yet when I asked for an advance on the money the insurance company has paid to complete my home I was told NO! They are sitting on almost $40k and collecting interest on my money yet they will not help me. Instead they sent a letter AND several e mail asking if I would like for them to pay off my mortgage with the money they are holding!! If I were to agree then sll they needed was my signature. But since I need the money to replace the funds I've already spent for materials I said no. Now they want another copy of the adjusters report, (already sent this several times) signed and accepted contractors proposal, (even thought im a self repair and on record of such for months now), another inspection, waiver of Lien, IRS Form W-9 (for a contractor I don't have) endorsement on claim check ( that they have had for over 4 months and deposited into their account and collecting interest) and last but not least paid receipts for self repairs completed. I have received NO help from Shellpoint as of today. They have made this as hard as possible to collect any of the funds MY insurance company has paid to put my home back together. I will be refinancing my home with another company very soon, I don't care if their interest is very high. Any company would be better then Shellpoint! They want their "investment " repaired but refuse to relinquish any of the funds. Instead they ask for more documentation, more "policies " and a big fat "sorry about your luck" to me. Per their policy when my home is 95% or better they release the remaining funds. Until then I have to rob Peter to pay Paul in order to buy the paint, texture and floorboards. My disability check is a whopping $1228.00 a month. After I pay my bills what little I have remaining is used to buy materials. I must be a Super Hero to pull this off and keep my Daughter, Grandson and myself from starving! Thanks Shellpoint for your total disregard! I really needed to be kicked while I was already down. I will NEVER do buisness with your company again and I Pray others will read this and decide to finance elsewhere. Your very Unsatisfied Customer
T
Avoid this company at all cost!!! Over paid our escrow account in the tune of $2400.00 has been fighting with them now for almost a month. Mailed out a supposed check on the 18th of May. We are now June 13th and still no check talked with 8 different reps received 8 different excuses as why we haven't received it yet! Spoke with a rep on June 8th who stopped the check and was sending a ACH! Which we were supposed to get today but still hasn't came called again today and was told a differenstory yet again. I asked when this was to be completed but was told they don't know when as it's up to the treasury department. Just stay away from this company nothing but bad news!
C
A great mortgage company! Shellpoint is always willing to help in any way they can to assist me with my mortgage. I have truly appreciated their help and support.
J
Shellpoint is the worst company, this company should be audited and be penalized. They just want to steal your money, they always calculate you monthly payment wrong just adding money to them but not to your taxes and escrow, every year they increase your monthly payment. Also if you request your pay off your are going to notice that you need to pay even more of what original loan was. STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY.
T
Since I been with Shellpoint, what is an estimate escrow for the next year. Last year they became my Mortgage company so my mortgage went up for estimate escrow, in August it suppose to go back to normal. I received a letter today it going up even more. Out of 14 years of being in my home I never had this issue until 2021 when Shellpoint bought out ditech. I pay my mortgage on time every month. This is crazy and yet you can nev.er reach anyone that know what they are doing
M
For the most part customer service was good. I did have to call a couple of times due to misinformation. One of the times I called the rep was either unable or unwilling to transfer me to the department I needed to speak with and she gave me the number and said goodbye. Customers do not want to be given numbers to call. Whenever possible always try to forward the call to the needed dept.
E
This Shellpoint NewRez isn’t for their customers . They even over charged me at my closing. I decided to sell my home because I hate this company. I praying that Yah bankruptcies this company and it shall never be no more.
T
Absolutely terrible. Avoid this company like the plague. They unfortunately bought my loan from my previous provider. Its virtually impossible to get a living, breathing, human being to help if you have any sort of issue. Avoid if you like your sanity.
J
Every time I call Shellpoint with a question the team goes above and beyond to help me and answer all my questions. They are professional and the nicest people.
C
This company should be rated at zero but that is not an option. Whatever you can think of as an unpleasant experience applies to this company. They hold your money so that they can apply a late fee and then they list your account as delinquent. They are no better than a person that enters your house without permission and removes items. They are classified as a their and this company should be too.
M
Predatory and deceptive tactics by company; great employees and customer service though (which is so odd). They bought my mortgage, notified me, but their database hadn't updated so I could set up payments. Kept trying, never worked. Finally got delinquent notices, and WOW it worked! But can you set up recurring payments? NOOOO! Not until your current payment clears! The employees know it and hate it too. Company tries to inquire late fees and other BS rather than focussing on efficiencies and automation. Planning on refinancing solely to get away from this horrible mismanagement.
L
Completely inept at handling tax payments through escrow. Only after filing a Consumer Protection Bureau complaint, did they share relevant information about how poorly they handled our property tax payments. Terrible customer service. Be prepared to spend hours on the phone if you have literally anything to discuss with them.
M
I have lost a significant portion of my income and was assured that this mortgage company has opportunities to sustain mortgage holders and my goo standing Nevertheless, I did not get the service promised. I have an email stating that my deferment will last through December 2021. Calling and emailing this company seems to fall on deaf ears. I hate to be negative but here it goes. Every where I go I see signs stating that they are hiring. I guess human capital is all that is needed here. Folks of quality and integrity isn’t a requirement!
R
I have never dealt with a more incompetent mortgage company. One word: RUN. FAR AWAY. I will present their incompetence with a nice numbered list for your viewing ease. 1) when they bought one of my mortgages, they sent notice of the purchase to an old address from which I had moved 2.5 years earlier. 2) when I finally found out, I had made three payments to the old company and Shellpoint magically found my new address to send letters that I was now in default for the loan. First indication there was an issue. 3) Shellpoint advised me that THEY would go get the funds for the old mortgage and I had to wait 90 days for that process to occur. Found out this was incorrect. 4) I had immediately began paying the new mortgage payments to Shellpoint who applied them to the oldest payments (the ones I had paid to the previous company) so now they are adding late fees. 5) I was most concerned about my credit rating, which was over 800, and Shellpoint assured me that since it was their fault, they would not be reporting to the credit bureaus. 6) of course they reported it, now my credit has dropped 80 points and can’t get a Refi. Called, was told to dispute, I had to write a letter. Not email. A snail mail letter. Fine. 7) three weeks after letter sent, found out I can email it instead “not sure why you were told that”. I have been told that line at least 4 times in the last four months. Oh and even though certified letter was signed for, “we can’t find the letter.” And here we Stand. Employees have no idea what the hell is happening in their own place of business.
M
Like the other one star reviews, my experience with Shellpoint was unworldly bad and unprofessional. Perhaps of equal interest, I posted my original Google review ~1 year ago. At the time I was amazed that a company with almost exclusive 1-star reviews could survive. When I looked back for my review earlier today, not only is it now deleted, the multiple hundreds of similar 1-star reviews are gone now as well. Everything about this company is amiss.
e
In 2021 during COVID, I fell behind on my loan payment for 4 months, then I started working & tried to make payment again they refused to accept my payments & told me pay the full amount owed for the last 4 months before they will accept payment. This went on for 9 months without paying my mortgage, then they did mortgage forbearance and made 3 months of payments, & they're still reporting to the credit bureau as missing payments.
K
This is a horrible company!! If you want a great Loan Company - Call Calbier Home Loans. GREAT service and they dont lie to you. As my forberance was ending I was selling my home and had communicated this to Shellpoint. I asked them POINT BLANK, multiple times, on RECORDED calls - "this wont negatively impact my credit right?" and they said OVER AND OVER - "no it will not, I'll make a note" Guess what - they reported on my credit anyways. Tanked it over 200 points. Despite my perfect credit, despite my communication, despite their reassurance, despite their "oh we support our veterans" (23yr US veteran family here), THEY LIED I have had multiple calls with them to correct this and despite everything being "in notes" and on recorded calls - THEY DO NOTHING TO CORRECT THEIR MISTAKE. SHELLPOINT CONTINUES TO LIE and NOT OWN UP TO THEIR MISTAKE. guess they dont care about completely tanking anyones credit. SCREW this company.... I'll never open another loan with them and I'll make sure to tell all my real estate friends and anyone I know buying a house to AVOID THIS COMPANY. all they do it LIE!
B
Absolutely the worst company I have ever dealt with. Expect to waste over over hour of your time every month on hold to deal with whatever issue they've created that month. Every statement since they bought my loan from Ditech (over a year ago) has been wrong or delivered after the due date. Currently trying to make a payment and it's taken me 3 days to get thru to anyone. Can't use their online or pay by phone options because they have my loan payment due amounts all messed up. It's a nightmare every month trying to get them paid. Once I'm able we will be moving our mortgage....
L
I accidently made 2 payments instead of one, I was freaking out! (I didn't have enough money for 2 payments). I called in right away and was very happy with the service and the confidence in the customer service agent that helped me! Thank you!
L
I received a call from shellpoint asking me for S.S. number , Address . Well first of all with all the scams i wasnt sure if this was a legit call . Trying to find out details i was treated rude . I was trying to be sure they were who they said they were . Didnt like it
A
They've had my mortgage for years now, but their insurable department has had trouble deciphering Dr from Drive, so I get a letter EVERY YEAR and have to call both agencies to deal with their rediculous confusion ... Very annoying.
R
The rating of this place is only so high because of false reviews I’m sure. I set up automatic payments years ago and everything was smooth. Then covid hit and all of a sudden they have no record of it. Believe me when I say this company will wreck your credit! And good luck getting ahold of someone you can understand on the phone… furthermore that can help. It’s all my fault, they have no record of my automatic payments. Last time I talked to them they were supposed to send me something in the mail to fill out again. Never got it. Do not do buisness with them in my opinion!
D
Loan was sold to them and held responsible for failures as a result of their own system setup. Would not recommend to anyone, run while you can.
J
They were very helpful when I had to go through a forbearance and in refinancing my home. Everyone was super friendly and quick to answers my questions.
A
Just know that you will go into foreclosure and 10 years could pass and you will probably still be waiting for an answer to a question, a “ supervisor “ to call you. This place is a joke, you would honestly think it is a “ company “ run out of someone’s mommas basement
B
Very unprofessional, from customers service, insurance department, they have no idea About taking care customers needs, our needs our money, "we the customers" MAKE YOUR PAYCHECKS !!!!!! They take over accounts no knowing what type of property is... A house, townhouse etc, They had place insurance on my property twice in 1YEAR... 😡 , After provide prove of insurance twice from my insurance company, still now they haven't give me/apply credit to my scrow, And that's showing that I own the $$$$$ And that I'm behind on my acct..... It have been more then a year..... I have to call them every month to discuss the same problem... I had send them emails, fax,, spend time on The phone and still now nothing had been solve
R
God awful company. Avoid at all costs. Once you realize your mortgage was sold to Shellpoint it’s to late
A
Horrible company tried to do right thing about morgage and screwed me around till last moment noone would give an answer to my questions gave me the run around
S
The customer service is amazing. Kind, knowledgeable service. From beginning of purchasing our home to anything today our experience with Shellpoint has been an absolute blessing.
K
We paid our mortgage off early and can't get them to send us our escrow balance. Have talked to 4 different people on the phone and get a different story every time. I would definitely not recommend this company. This has been going on for 3 months and still don't have our money!
P
I am disappointed at the performance of this company. Each year I receive letters that they are placing hazard insurance on my loan. There has been no change in my carrier, policy number, loan number or anything. I finally was told because my insurance agent listed my name differently that they have me listed is why they don't accept my existing insurance that they accepted the year before. Nevermind that my insurance has the loan number and address of the existing home and mortgage... Representatives of this company are not allowed to use basic common sense and resolve the issue.
T
My loan was bought by Shellpoint in July of 2018. Longer story short, my ex husband filed for bankruptcy during our divorce illegally so Shellpoint wasn't allowed to talk to me nor take any payments from me. It made me so far behind I ended up having to do a modification. The program I went through stated it would make my interest cheaper and my payment cheaper. 14 months of dealing with this modification has been completed. On the modification I HAD TO SIGN AND GET NOTARIZED TWICE, it stated that ALL negative P&I AND ESCROW Would be moved to the Ned of my loan, my interest rate and payments are now higher than before and I kept telling them that the numbers listed on the modification wasn't correct. It didn't show my insurance premium that was NOT EVEN PAID yet for this year. They kept assuring me that everything was right and an analysis would be done on the escrow and it would be at zero. As of today, 10/14/2021, my escrow is now showing negative $2260 so my payments are even more than its suppose to be. This company is a joke! They don't honor their word, they make you sign legal paperwork that they refuse to change and now I'm screwed. I didnt ask for this company and I sure as hwll would not recommend them to anyone!!
C
This company has been charging me for insurance since June and I already have and had insurance. My policy renewed in April. Me and progressive have faxed the proof but I still am being charged more on my monthly payments. I'm left with no other option but to get an attorney. It's against the law to carry two policies on the same property. This company has not even tried to fix the issue.
Z
Shellpoint transfered my mortgage to another company however they never transferred my monthly payment they had and it's been 2 months.
E
RUN don't walk away! I don't understand how this shady company has a license to service mortgages. Right after the closing, my mortgage was transferred/bought by this company and suddenly hell broke loose. They started to charge me $13 per month for property inspection fee, and that is EVERY single month. I live in a gated community, and there is no record of anyone coming here to inspect the property. After many calls and hours spent on the phone and emails, they basically told me it is in their rights to charge these fees and my house seems to be empty/vacant!! Such a big claim without any proof. Anyways, that was not the end. When taxes were due 6 months later, they forgot to pay it from the escrow account, and I got penalized by the county. Again, many hours on the phone until they fixed the problem by paying the late taxes. I was happy they covered the late charges until I got a letter that escrow account is low, so I have to pay an astronomical payment or increase $1500 per month until it balances out. I also got a letter from them stating that any additional payoff statement other than the first one is going to be $300 per statement!!! Who charges for payoff statements?? It was then that I said to myself enough is enough. I contacted Chase Bank and refinanced in 4 weeks. Best decision of my life. Sometimes it's better to pay $7,000 and walk away from such shysters before you lose your sanity or credit scrore.
V
The information I requested was provided immediately with dates and numbers. I could not have asked for better service. Thank you.
G
I'm only giving Shellpoint 1 star because I have to. This company doesn't deserve a star. They stole my family home! Since March of 2020 we have battled this company trying to save our home. My Mom is dying of cancer and while she was in the hospital, they served us and forced us out. I watched as my life fell apart. I am now staying with family and my Mom is in a nursing home. Shellpoint can go straight to hell. I hope karma comes for everyone involved in this mess.
T
Shellpoint Mortgage representatives have always treated me with respect. I am totally please with the service.
J
They keep increasing morgage payments, also they send your payment coupon out around the12 of the month , and expect to receive in by the 15th. Of the month, therefore your payment is late when they receive it. Then they tack on a late payment.!!
F
Customer service agents have been very nice and have made many attempts to get my mortgage statement to me earlier in the month. For some reason this has not happened. However, I did receive the August '21 statement on the 3rd of August even though the website did not show it had been generated and I had not received an email saying the statement was viewable on line. I like to send my check payment by the 3rd so it has a week to get there by the due date of the 10th. I have received statements in the past as late as the 12th which is past the due date. I realize I have a grace period before it is late but I don't take risks with the USPS these days.
M
The person that I spoke with was very polite and helpful and took time to answer all of my questions.
B
Whenever I have questions, they never fail to give me the right answer. Their response is always quick and to the point, and I am never left hanging on the phone.
B
Excellent knowledge by person who picked up the phone without being passed around from agent to agent. Refreshing.
S
SHELLPOINT Mortgage is the most unethical mortgage SCAMMERS MORTGAGE COMPANY in existence. THEY ARE Scammers!!! My mortgage was sold to them after I purchased my home. Soon after I realized the horror of the schemes they carry out in order to add unwarranted fees. Even sending falsely reporting me to the credit bureaus in the highest point of a pandemic. I didn;t owe them a penny. They LIE and I had to battle it out with them and they still refused to remove it. The credit bureau informed me to make a note on my report. I did. Another way they scam you is adding late fee even when you are not late. Most people don't listen to reviews and some are so happy to get a mortgage and I understand, but I assure you that if you can get a mortgage from these people you can get it from someone else. Please... I am pleading with you, DO NOT GET A MORTGAGE WITH THIS COMPANY!! YOU WILL REGRET IT!!! THEY ARE SCAMMERS!!! Go to your bank and try there and if you go with another company, find out if they will sell your mortgage to SHELLPOINT MORTGAGE. Have them put it in writing that they will not do so. THEY ARE ATROCIUOUS. They don't even deserve 1 star.
C
Communication with servicer has been terrible. They placed forced place insurance on our policy when they manage our escrow account and have it fully funded without calling us for informationon the policy that was already in the file when the loan was originated. We have been paying the insurance every month and recently foud out we are also paying forced place insurance which means we have been paying insurance premiuim twice. At what point do they decide to pick up the phone and call their customers? Unfortunately we dont get to pick our servicers after the loans are originated, but if given the option I would not choose Shellpoint.
j
The process of taking advantage of a recast offer has been horrible. We sent in the required signed document, $300 fee, and the amount we wanted to lay down which exceed the dollar amount required. The funds have since posted to our checking account and our last statement failed to reflect the new payment. We contacted Shellpoint on numerous occasions and was not given a reason as to why the recast don’t showing up even tho the funds were applied to our principal balance. Last week called and advised we wanted escalate the issue to their voice of the customer to file a complaint. Per Respa they are required to respond. As of today we have heard back. I called again today asking about the status of the recast and the complaint we filed. The rep stated she had no record. I again indicated I wanted to file a complaint. Her relay e was is there anything else she could help with. She didn’t ask for and email address for them to respond ot the complaint. At this point they are surely in violation of steels guidelines and I am now filing a CFPB complaint and reaching out to my state attorney general.
F
Would rate lower but won't let me. Refuse to work with us. Straight up said , Sell your house and find more affordable housing. Trying to lower Interest rate and they basically say nope , sorry can't help ya.
P
Shellpoint customer service has been exemplary for me! I had lost my job due to Covid cutbacks and they worked with me to keep me in my home and I am now back on track and current due to understanding and ability to customize my loan requirements based on my needs. I would highly recommend them to anyone.
M
My mortgage was transferred to this place after about a year and a half with the company that originally closed my deal. I make one new payment with Shellpoint and next I get a notice that my mortgage rate is going up by 400. They say this is due to a shortage in the Escrow, implying that these price hikes are just some payment arrangement until I get the shortage paid off. When I called their so-called customer service to confirm this, they told me the price increase was in spite of the shortage. I was then transferred to someone I was told was an account specialist who could resolve this problem in one call. After 20 minutes of being given the runaround about how Shellpoint determines Escrow payments, I find out this person is not an account specialist, only another customer service rep. I am instead told to send a letter to an address, which will take between 5-7 days for them to process, and then up to a month to determine if they made an error or not. Given I have a payment due in that time and I am disputing that payment, this puts me in a situation of hurting my credit by either not paying the full amount or by paying it at great personal expense as I was only given less than a month's notice. The excuse they repeated over and over again was an increase in Homeowner's Insurance Premiums and/or state/local property taxes. I checked and neither of these had gone up since I closed on the house last year. That leaves the Private Mortgage Insurance as I did not make a full 20% down payment on the house (first-time buyer). In short, after much research, this went from about 50/month to 400/month. That's nearly as much as the principal and well above the 2% of the loan total that PMI is typically capped at. I contacted the PMI provider only to be told they could not locate my loan and that I needed to get with my Mortgage company (in this case, Shellpoint) to work out how that figure was determined. That's where matters are at as I write this today. This is pure extortion.
M
Very helpful customer service solving an issue that came up on my loan.
Y
This is the worst mortgage company ever They shamelessly rob you. They don’t care about their clients. They tell you something and then they do what ever I I could do zero stars that’s what I will give to them.
M
I was originally with DITECH and thought they were the most incompetent , unprofessional, crooked Mortgage lending institution around. I was wrong, Shell Point purchased my loan and I now have a new winner. They failed to credit one of my monthly payments on 11/19/2019 and since then have destroyed my credit and continue to have one of the phone operators call me every 2 days and this person does not have the ability to help in anyway. I asked to speak to a Manager, Suoerviser, anyone who help. NO LUCK!!!!!! The online webpage is worthless as well. I will continue to put in a daily review until this issue is resolved.
J
I have two properties and Shellpoint services one of the mortgages. I wish they did both! I had to contact our state's attorney general about the other servicer for unfair practices. Shellpoint is the complete opposite. They are so helpful and proactive. They called me to warn me that I missed a mailed notification and did it in time to keep it from dinging my credit.
J
I called the Customer Service number with questions about my escrow account that was very important and was connected with a gentleman that was very knowledgeable who answered my questions. He was very polite and professional. If I coud remember his name I would tell you to make sure he was identified as your capable employee but hopefully you'll be able to discover who served my needds so well. Sincerely, James Moravec
J
These people are the worst. If your payment is one day late they start hounding you with multiple phone calls. There is supposed to be a two week grace period but that doesn't matter. They are vultures. We have never missed a payment in 12 years but that doesn't matter.
Y
I am a retired, disabled senior who is experiencing grief on behalf of this company’s negligence.
L
My loan was sold to them 3 years ago. Point of contact doesn’t keep his word.
P
I got help by phone paying off my escrow shortage so that I could keep my monthly payment lower for the next year. Thank you!

Having a vindictive Condo Board President and an attorney who has issues with me, they attempted to foreclose on me, adding legal fees to my account that they had no business adding. Desperate because they chose to "foreclose" on the lien 2 days before Christmas with a sheriff's sale on Feb 4th, I was in a tailspin. I have leukemia and they know it. The additional assessment was not voted on, which clearly goes against our by-laws. I let them know what they were doing was not right and that I knew why. The attorney claims that they didn't reach out to people who do personal attacks. That is not what I did, I called them out on their blatant lies and not following protocol. I will say this, my profession was Forensic Accountant, they placed me as Secretary when I was on the board. Shenanigans did and still continue to happen with the current Attorney's blessing. Shellpoint heard my desperate need for a resolution. When they were reaching out to the Attorney', the legal fees escalated retro-actively to an exorbitant amount, which I call extortion. Shellpoint came to my rescue anyways, yet the Attorney never mentioned it. I am forever grateful to Shellpoint Mortgage Servicing for helping me out of this dire (maybe criminal) situation. Time will tell. The Attorney's office continues with their misinformation and I am unable to get an accurate balance of my account. These people are not accountants by any means of the imagination and their practice seems a bit corrupt.
H
The folks took time to go over my concerns whenever I called. They were very polite every time
T
DO NOT BELIEVE ALL THE 5 STAR REVIEWS!!! This company had nothing but bad reviews and then all of a sudden they are flooded by 5 star reviews. I have done business with a lot of companies over the years and everything from making a simple payment with these people is a hassle. We didn’t have a choice, If you have one think long and hard about it.
R
My mortgage payment was due on 12/1/21 my wife and I have been calling for the past 3 days to get this matter taken care of and no one answers the phone or respond to our messages.now they have reported a non payment against our credit. Today is 12/3/21 and still no response.
M
I asked ti send me a statement of my screw. I noticed that I was paying for ridiculous hazard insurance... my HOA covers my hazard insurance. I have faxed them over and over, including emails .... still have not fix the problem. The latest to laugh is that they go the office once a week... therefore since May 16 until now, no resolution while I continue to pay scrow.
B
My problem was with the Shellpoint website not the customer service representative on the phone. The website has locked me out the last few months, denying my password and stating I was incorrect answering all of my security questions. The customer service rep was professional and helpful with resetting my password again. The Human did a great job the website not so much!
D
Worst mortgage company around. I’ve dealt with dozens so I know. Now that I’ve paid off mine, I feel free to write this. Shellpoint seems to be a company that specializes in acquiring loans from other companies, so I don’t think this review will help anyone but if your loan was recently sold to this company, do what you can to move it to another company. They have absolutely no concerns with customer service. I’ve called and sent documents repeatedly in the past two years, only for them lose them and and have no record of my previous calls. Simple stuff like proof of insurance...they “lost” the proof I sent three times and bought a policy for me - I suspect from a sister company of theirs - for double the price. It took my insurance agent hours on multiple calls to get it fixed. This is one example of many...horrible, predatory company that shows why the US mortgage industry is so corrupt and driving young people toward socialism.
L
Shellpoint has been nothing but professional and courtious and a pleasure to work with.
K
While staff was able to help as needed with each call, the overall stern !DEBT COLLECTION! tone was off-putting, as if I was in trouble, doing something wrong, even though I was being responsible and handling a covid-related issue the right way. When I'd call to make payments to get back on track, it was as if I were trying to cheat them, rather than give them money. Individually, most of the agents would lighten up and converse, but the overall tone was a lousy way to treat a responsible customer. Four stars for the actual execution of helping me get through a rough patch, so I could get caught up.
R
Recently had my mortgage absorbed by Shell Point, so they are servicing my loan now. Not impressed at all. They asked for proof of flood insurance which I promptly provided. Weeks later they are sending threatening letters about buying insurance to cover my loan. When I called about this, Shell Point assured me that this was an oversight and, yes, they had received proof of insurance. Ignore the letter. That took about 45 minutes. Today I have received another letter of the same sort with another threat to purchase insurance. To say that I am underwhelmed by my new mortgage service is to understate my opinion.
z
This company is terrible. The county refunded my wife over $20K- to the mortgage company. Over 4 months ago. She's been calling every week, been given the run-around: "we'll call you back", "let me look into that", "I can open a ticket" with NO resolution- no call back, no information other than "Yes, I can see that we CASHED THIS CHECK from your county, it SHOULD have been paid..." No supervisor available. Filing a complaint does nothing. at our wits end. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY, DO NOT DO Business with this company.
J
Shellpoint Mortgage is the worst. I have never dealt with a company with such a poor service. They continually call me and send letters saying that we are delinquent in payment when it is their poor ability to get their paperwork straight
L
The worse company I ever had mortgage with. Charging extra $20 are $30 some month for no reason. Saying we did this are that. And couple of time they reported that I send my mortgage late. And my credit score went down. I never send my monthly mortgage late. Once you try to talk to them. They transfer you to deferent department and no one giving you an answers.
J
Absolutely the worst mortgage company in the world.Only reason I gave them one star is because i had to so i could write this review. Every representative we have spoken to has lied straight to our face. They do not care about customers at all. The wife checked our credit score to refinance but the other company's would not help. Shellpoint had been reporting that we where in foreclosure every other month for a year.
A
The worst mortgage company in history . Very disorganized and placing lender placed Insurance to charge more per month while ignoring the yearly invoice of the insurance you choose. Stay away from this company; it ruins credit scores
R
For 3 years, after refinancing with/Shell Point Mortgage there has been a reoccurring problem with our mortgage 1st, my insurance was canceled due to lack of payment from NewRez. They claimed they didn’t have my insurance information to send payment. My question to them was , how could you not have it? The insurance company was willing to rewrite the policy. Cool no problem except it was $770.00 more then my previous policy. No help from NewRez or Farmers insurance, so I declined them and found a new insurance company Liberty, rather then pay $770 more. Finally, after several days of back and forth and several hours on the phone I got coverage!! Everything good right? NO! I received a refund check from Farmers, I called NewRez and they advised me to send the check to the escrow Dept and have it deposited into my escrow account. We did that. Sent $950.00 check to escrow department and added on check as advised,”for escrow deposit only”. Low and behold, they applied it to our principal instead which leads up to a continuous problem, they have also made 3 disbursement in the last 12 months to the insurance company and 4 in the last 16 months. 6/20/19 $257.00, 10/02/19 $1,491.00, 2/21/20 $2,215.00, and 10/13/20 2,439.00, according to online records. I cannot get a clear answer as to why? We were looking into refinancing again and pulling money out so we was checking our credit scores and my wife’s had dropped 30 points because of late payments, we checked our account and the payments had cleared on time. We contacted NewRez. After speaking with 3 different customer service people and being put on hold and then being cut off and after 2 hours on the phone we find out about the disbursements, I was promised a call back with progress, after 5 days and no call back, I called them again and again( every time I call or speak to someone I have to start all over again what my issue is. EVERYTIME!) after being on hold several times, and being cut off again and having to call back, I start over again. Like before, no answers, no response or call back and no resolution. Today, 2/25/2021 I called back again after reviewing our online account that is was finally able to log onto and it all comes to light. I again called NewRez and got a supervisor/manager and was informed by her that the email I sent last night was a formal complaint ( I sent one to customer advocacy at NewRez) and that’s all my filed showed as complaints. I told her about all the people I’ve spoked with, all the calls and all the hours I have spent on the phone and all the details, she informed me that noting was noted on my account nor was there any complaint. This floored me! I even asked did these people misrepresented (lied) to me and again she said the was the only complaint. WOW! I requested Immediate attention and Resolution and it should be Expedited. She said she would personally keep me informed. I asked for her direct number and she gave me her extension. Since then I have been able to find and uncover after, get this; getting a call back that I tried to call back several times after getting cut off through this process. We both looked at my account and found several errors aside from the disbursements, I was charged for not having insurance during the time they failed to pay my original insurance. It was my understanding and was told, I wouldn’t be charged for that insurance. That was the payment made on 10/2/2019 for $1,491.00 that I mentioned above. Also on 6/28/2019 a surplus disbursements and a check was mailed to me (I never received it thus enforcing the fact that I haven’t been receiving notices or letters from them even though I have always been on electronic and paper notices)
J
I think my most recent experience was just an automated payment by phone, which the process is user-friendly. I'd like to take this opportunity, though, to share how very pleased I am with your customer service and the overall culture at Shellpoint. Your representatives listen - really listen, and either address things satisfactorily or take it to another level/dept. if a situation warrants. A mortgage is very personal to me, so I appreciate you all treating it as such. Keep up the good work :)
R
I've had multiple mortgage companies. This is the only company that will harass you for payment prior to the 15th of the month with phone calls multiple times a day despite being instructed not to. Furthermore if you change your insurance or property tax costs they won't provide a review of your escrow account until the one time of the year they review your escrow statement. If there is an overage good luck actually getting your payment as they will take as long as they can to send it to you. I've never experienced a mortgage servicer that is as sorry.
M
Shellpoint Mortgage Servicing was there in my time of need and I really do appreciate it. They help me keep my little house. :-)
J
I had been paying ditech by mail with a check and had no problems. Shellpoint takes over and we get the bill in the mail on the day it is due, twice! So we send it in, first time no big deal, second time we get a call from their debt collector dept. 3 days after payment is due. The lady was very aggressive and condescending. How can we get them their payment on time by mail if they send out the bill so late that it arrives the day it's due? So now we have to do the online payment thing, which I hate to do since my card has been compromised 3 times from making online purchases. And these other glowing reviews, some sound made up. I know a fake positive review when I read one. Get it together Shellpoint!
A
Always there to give you the most positive experience in owing a home!!

CALL YOUR LOCAL ATTORNEY GENERAL OFFICE FOR REMEDY. They WANT you to foreclose that is their goal. They are unwilling to help even with the current pandemic. Their customer service reps are so rude, don't let you talk, and talk over you constantly. No managers ever call back when you get no where with angry reps who try to dumb you down. They make it very difficult at every step purposefully leaving homeowners helpless. I didn't choose them, they bought my mortgage who I was working with and now SP doesn't want to follow the rules. Call your local Attorney General Office on them. they just got schooled by the Massachusetts AG for their unwillingness to help homeowners say in their homes in a recent lawsuit. They are still at it. Thankfully I live here and will be calling.
K
Hello, I was working with a rep of yours and she has stopped replying to any message. I tried to get you to have them contact me through sending a direct message but no one from your company is giving me any information. Your company messed up my escrow account $14,253 into the negatives. Im in the middle of my refinance and now I've had to pay a lock extension because of your error . She told me that it would be fixed promptly and now we're already over amount trying to fix it and overall this has been going on since January 5th and still no resolutions. Please escalate this to the Escalations manager or director. I have left multiple messages because I have had to pay for a lock extension and Im about incur late charges from you. I need this fixed immediately as Ive done everything on my end to have it completed. This has been such an unacceptable process! Please contact me immediately.
B
Great company. I really appreciate the help you've given me.

As many folks last year, we applied for a forbearance for our home loan due to a lost of our main source of income. The folks at Shellpoint were very helpful and were easy to work with. We got through the forbearance period and Shellpoint helped us with a modification to our loan. We are back on track after a devastating financial year.
R
Criminals. Plain and simple. They sent two packages with letters in them entailing how my grandmother can refinance her mortgage under new terms. In the fine print, it stated that in order to get this new lower payment, she has to sign on for another 40 year mortgage at the same interest rate. Despicable. Taking advantage of an old woman. That, and they have now refused payment on us for no given reason, and when we call and beg for answers we get a different answer every time. When we demanded an itemized list of the charges on our account they still have refused to give it to us more than 2 weeks later. These people are just mad they couldn't make a quick buck off a confused old woman so they are trying to foreclose on the home. Childish. Trust Shellpoint with nothing. They are nothing but sharks, a source of stress and anguish.
