I joined during a loan process which I was never told I had to do when I first began. During the set up I had a typo in my phone number. When I couldn't remember my new password the only option to reset was to send a text. To the wrong number. Calling customer service was useless. The kept saying g it was a block by my carrier until they finally saw the typo. No one could change the number. I would have to make time to go to a branch in MD or wait 3 days for a virtual appointment so they could match my face with my submitted ID. My loan officer finally manually updated the number. I log in and my account funding process had not been completed. A waste of time and energy that wasn't necessary. I'll will leave this institution as soon as possible.

Great bank. The best credit union/ bank to do business with. The bank email me about a package for Healthcare workers. Knowing the heavy schedule of clients, Lauren Dusold, Manager for Frederick branch with her team took care of a-z process to the end. Many other packages for everybody. Selling like hot cake. Call NOW.

I’ve been with them for several years. I used to really love them. They’ve declined service wise. If you need anything from them they’ll just bounce you around on the phone OR just not provide you with what you need. During this year of Covid they’ve been exceptionally worse. It’s like they know that because you have to schedule appointments they can be lackluster because you “need” them. God help you if you need something advanced like closing out an account of a deceased person. Get ready for the pass around! No one listening. Slow communication. Ignoring legal paperwork that should make the process easier. After you submit paperwork asking for the same thing or a variation of the same document. My favorite was we can’t honor this request because it has already been sent to the necessary party. Yeah I KNOW. You sent it to me. So I have to come to you to prove to you that you sent something to me. After you’ve had me confirm my information several times...When all this is over I am seriously considering walking away. I don’t even blame the employees. Obviously it’s how they’re ran.

I have had bad experience with SECU. I bought a check up to SECU and this female teller at Owings Mills SECU tells me on 5/2/2022 because the check has 5/3/2022 on it, I cannot deposit the check into my account until 5/3/2022. And I have to come back up to Owings Mills SECU on 5/3/2022 and deposit the check into my account. That makes no sense whatsoever . Why couldn’t the check be deposit into my checking account on 5/2/2022?

I recently decided to join Secu due. A big waste of time! I am unable to get a satisfactory resolution to a existing issue. I do not recommend this credit union.
