    Best houses I have ever stayed in very clean and beautiful. Location was wonderful. The company makes you feel at home and leaves a gift in each home for you which makes you feel important. very reasonable priced as well get the family together and split the cost a lot cheaper than a hotel for a week. I can not brag on this company enough because you just have to be there to see it with your own eyes.

    My group of six rented a house in Corolla for our first visit to the Outer Banks through Seaside Vacations. We could not have been more pleased with the company. Not only do they have lots of properties to choose from but the search function online makes it easy to narrow down choices and get closer to what you are looking for. A feature on the site allows you to view great pictures of the property, look at a layout of all floors, and then “walk” through the property. As a result we had no surprises when we actually arrived at the house we selected. I also appreciated the frequent communication prior to the rental date to keep me informed of key deadlines as well as what to expect when it was time to arrive at depart from the property. We were also able to take advantage of some of the perks they offer with food, equipment, and activity vendors. I was very pleased to receive an email the morning after our arrival asking if we found the house to be clean and if there was anything we needed. The house was very clean! I responded with a few minor requests like, not enough hangers in the closets and we were unable to locate a corkscrew. Both items were brought to us within a few hours! I will happily recommend Seaside Vacations to anyone looking to rent a house on the Outer Banks!!

    The house we rented was perfect. It was clean and ready when we arrived. A gift package of starter things like trash bags and paper towels was sitting on the table. There was some normal wear and tear on the house itself, but overall it was very well kept. In better shape than my own home. Beds were comfy. Outdoor furniture was awesome. I really have no complaints.

    We loved the location of Sound Side Out. It was peaceful. The house was beautiful and very clean. The only suggestion I would have would be to have more deck furniture. Our family loves the evenings out on the deck sitting around having a good time. The community pool was great, not crowded and very clean. Our family would love to come back for another vacation next year.

    We stayed at Poolside Paradise, for a family of 14 people. Overall, the house was great. There were a few minor issues with the hardwood decks outside; loose boards. The rooms were exactly like the pictures online. The house was very spacious and clean. The check in and checkout process was easy, however it would have been convenient for an earlier check in time. Other than that, the house was great and the experience was great.

    Location location location!! This home was walking distance to the beach. It took less than 5 minutes to walk to the Ocean. I currently have a broken foot so I took advantage of the elevator. It also came in handy bringing items from the car to the 2nd and third floor. We had a group of 12+ with plenty of space to spread out. The house was fully stocked with kitchen items - plates, cups, utensils, pots, pans and even a crock pot. We had 6 children ranging from 5 mos. to 7 years old. There was a huge fenced in grassy area that allowed the kids to run and get their energy out. The customer service was outstanding!!!

    I gave this place one star only because the rental home I stayed in was not great at all. The place smelled old and musty. The cabinets were dirty. My husband got his hands smashed just trying to open a window. Three of the windows did not even have blinds. There was a bench on the porch that you could not even sit on without getting splinters. The property was so close to the road that you could hear every car that drove by. The first night staying in the property I heard someone arguing outside at like 3:00 a.m. . I can't say that I would not recommend seaside vacations but I would say that I would not recommend the place that I stayed. The pictures I have posted are the views of my front porch. I had views of a main road, a car dealership, and a house with lots of vehicles out front. I also found dirty knives in the knife container.

    We had a great experience. The vacation rental was very spacious and homely. The management team was super responsive. Seaside vacations surpassed our expectations. We drove 8 hours to go there and if we didn't have such nice rental, it would have been a letdown. Tip: Book directly with them and don't go via Airnb and Vrbo. We will go again!

    The home we stayed in was old and well-worn. The pictures online have not updated in several years. Every bedroom had a window unit ac, most faucets were leaky, the hot water smelled foul from the faucet, the decks were deteriorating, and the wood siding was in desperate need of a paint job, and the pool was more green than blue. I seriously wished I had booked our vacation with airbnb or vrbo. I spend a small fortune for a family vacation and ended up leaving early due to disappointment.

    We had a wonderful vacation! The place was clean and seaside vacations helped us when needed. There were a few minor things that needed done, they offered to send someone over, but i asked that they just take care of it after we left. It was very minor. I would highly recommend seaside vacations.

    Shake Shack in Kitty Hawk: House is very well set up. Kitchen has most everything you would need to cook with. Nice location to the beach. Rooms are very nice. Just be aware because this is a pet friendly home, that those pictures online of the stairs inside are actually green wooden stairs, not green carpet. For those whose pets do not like stairs, you have 2 flights of steep, kind of narrow, slick wooden stairs you have to get them up and down. Once you get to that top level tho, was very nice and relaxing. And the location is not ideal to take your dogs on a walk. There is no space for bike path or walking path this far north. So our dogs were kind of isolated and stuck in the house if weather didn't permit us to go to beach. The burger joint, was great! Good burgers and shakes!

    This was our first time staying at one of your locations andwe was very pleased!! Nice location, very clean and roomy! Every morning and throughout the day we could see Dolphins jumping and swimming around!! Will definitely be going back to stay again!!

    The booking process was easy. I got all the information I needed prior to arrival as well. While the house was really cute I feel that it isn't maintained the way that it should be. Upon arrival, which I purchased early check-in for, we weren't able to get in immediately and spent some time on the phone after an 11 hour drive to get into the house because the keypad wasn't working correctly. Then once we got settled we found that we had no Wi-Fi, and the cable box in the bedroom was malfunctioning so we had to make a call again to get that repaired. Then we dealt with people the next day in and out while we could have been relaxing and not worrying about anything. They were able to fix the cable box so we can at least watch TV in the evening however our Wi-Fi was down the entire time which means my son was unable to do his class work while away. The exterior pictures of the property are outdated. The sand was so high up off the back porch that instead of 5 steps up it was only two steps up to the deck in the back which means that the Sand dune obstructed the view to the beach while sitting when according to the photos you could see the beach and the surf from the porch. While we made the best of our time there, especially since it was my husband's 40th birthday, we will not be staying with seaside in the future and would not recommend. The staff is very informative and friendly which is the only reason I gave more than 1 star.

    This is a beautiful house with lots of space. The kitchen was well supplied with dishes and cookware. The pool and hot tub were excellent. The only con for this property is that there is only one road to travel and there is a lot of construction so you absolutely need to plan for travel time.

    My family rented the QCB5 Shell House Condo in Nags Head and we experienced a lot of issues with maintenance and cleanliness. Additionally, customer service was unresponsive and didn't care to contact me back after I had reached out several times. First of all, the location of the condo is good. You get really good access to the beautiful beach with access to an outdoor shower and a nice outdoor pool. It's also very close to a lot of Nags Head amenities. However, we encountered several problems with cleanliness, maintenance and customer service. I created a list of the issues below. 2 Large Cockroaches/Palmetto Bugs in Wet Bar / Dining Area The kitchen had dirty dishes with food scraps when we arrived The kitchen had dirty utensils drawer with food scraps and dirt when we arrived Wheel was broken off of dining chair leg when we arrived in dining area The Master Bedroom had corroded sliding door handles on patio The Master Bedroom had a broken outlet cover on patio The Master Bedroom had sunken outlets on the floor, therefore, we could not use them The Master Bedroom had a broken screen door handle The Master Bathroom had a ripped shower curtain liner - Only covered half Master Bathroom - water damage on tile/tub area with cracking tiles 2nd Bedroom Top Floor - Some kind of animal droppings by bed 3rd Bedroom on 2nd Floor - Significant water damage on ceiling There were lots of carpet stains throughout the condo Worst of all, Seaside Vacations offered a free cleaning mid-week, so we adjusted our plans to make sure we were out of the condo for the cleaners. They never showed up and when I called and emailed Seaside Vacations to follow up, no one ever returned my voicemail or email. Had the cleaners showed up or had they returned my follow-up calls or emails, we could have overlooked some of the items listed. However, Seaside Vacations showed us no concern and became unresponsive after our initial communication with them. I would not recommend this company to anyone.

    Just a five minute walk to the beach! Very comfortable and dog friendly. Lots of great restaurants nearby, and the donuts on a stick sundae in Duck was quite an adventure.

    Wonderful vacation home and when we ran out of propane they came that day and replaced. The only complaint I had was that the surfing competition decided to set up right in front of our beach access, so close to it that we almost couldn't get on beach. We had to use the public access path instead. But that wasn't Seaside's fault. Stayed at the Casa De Romance.

    We had an amazing time at the beach in this wonderful house. It was sparkling clean and comfortable with everything we needed and brand new appliances . The location is perfect- an easy 5 minute walk to the beach on quiet streets. It is a delightful dead end street with friendly neighbors. We were close to everything- shopping, mini golf, Wright brothers; jockeys ridge, nags wood preserve and hiking. We enjoyed the deck with an ocean view at dawn and dusk. A great experience and we will stay in this house again. This house was anchors aweigh on soble drive in kill devil hills.

    I stayed at Lighthouse Pointe with a large group of 12. We stayed during the week of 8/21/21 - 8/28/21. Myself and one other were sharing the large master room on the 3rd floor. The place was poorly cleaned prior to arrival but we overlooked all that for the large home and views. Upon waking up after our first night we noticed several bed bugs crawling in the bed. Blood was also observed on the sheets. Upon further inspection, a very large infestation was found under the mattress, and around the box springs. This cluster was large enough that it was most likely there for several weeks. From that point on it was very difficult dealing with Seaside as everyone kept blaming the owner of the home. They refused to move us due to us possibly contaminating another property. It took 1/2 the day before an inspector came out to verify our complaint. The inspector observed more bed bugs in other rooms and in a living room. They made us spend one night on air mattresses until a treatment could be done on the 3rd day of our vacation. Even after the treatment they refused to move us. During the treatment several personal pillows were missing and never brought back to the home. One elderly mother decided to avoid the trip entirely because of the situation and did not want to risk bringing anything home. When we brought up compensation for the extremely terrible experience we were faced with, Seaside wanted to push off the discussion till we returned home. Seaside then gave us a joke of a refund that they said was up to the owner of the home. The refund is a small fraction to what we payed for in total for the entire week. This incident doomed our vacation from the start and was 110% avoidable. It took nearly 2 minutes of moving the mattress to notice the large infestation. It is disgusting to think the poor family who stayed before us probably never knew what they were sleeping in and most likely brought something home. I'm sure Seaside has not notified the previous vacationers. Whether the blame falls on Seaside, the owner, or cleaning service; in my opinion everyone is at fault and someone should take responsibility for the vacation we lost.

As rare and unfortunate a case of bed bugs is, it does happen and very specific protocol performed in order to treat it and ensure nothing is transferred when leaving. The pest control company that assisted with the treatment are experts - an "all clear" was received from them during the post-treatment inspections, your personal items treated and returned, and fair compensation equivalent to the time impacted was provided to the satisfaction of the leaseholder (which isn't you).  We'd love the opportunity to host your family again in the future under better circumstances!     Having used Seaside two years in a row, I have found them to be professional, responsive, and willing to make whatever is wrong correct. The house we used this year was 700 feet from Avalon Pier and public access to the beach. There were no major issues with the home, and the one problem we encountered was quickly remedied by Seaside. I will certainly use them again next year for our annual vacation!

    We just got back from our stay at Oceans Away. Overall, we had a nice stay. The house was close enough to the beach to walk and it had everything we needed for the week. However, the house could of been cleaned better. There were tons of spiderwebs and smashed bugs on the walls throughout the house. The downstairs basement had black mold on the shower ceiling. There were items under the dressers as if it hadn’t been swept. The grill was filthy with grease all over it and all over the propane tank. It wasn’t worth it for us to clean and use, we had to just make our food inside on the stove. We paid an awful lot of money for this place and even the beds were extremely uncomfortable. We also had issues with the door keypad. We locked the door when we left one day and forgot to grab something, so we went back to get it and couldn’t get the door to unlock. Luckily when we came back later in the day, we were able to get the door unlocked. We had the same issues when we checked out. It seemed that some of the keys were worn out and didn’t respond to being pushed.

    So, our home overall, the Ferrari II worked. The space was good and of course we loved having a bathroom in each room. We liked how the linens came wrapped in Saran Wrap. However, the home needs updating.the carpet was creepy, the sofa’s- especially the sofa on the middle level needs to be replaced. There were no chairs/seating/ lack of furniture for the decks which made it very strange to go out there. Also, the air on the middle floor needs to be checked- the 4 rooms were hotter than all the other rooms in the house. Finally, the pool area needs updating, it was very cringy out there, low to no maintenance.

    The property was clean, welcoming and thoughtfully appointed. A welcome kit was provided including some non perishable food items such as seasonings, sugar, salt etc. Bed sheets and towels were individually laundered and shrink wrapped. There was sufficient silverware and plates for everybody. The pool was wonderful. In short Seaside Vacations has done a wonderful job.

    I would first like to say that this has nothing to do with seaside vacations but the property “Betcha like It” being rented out through them. We arrived at our house and we were super excited because we’ve never been to the outer banks and the location was great right across from the beach. We couldn’t wait for our vacation to start. We inquired about a earlier check in they said it was too late but let us know when it was ready. We got in the house and things looked nice but what we saw in the pictures online were different they made changes to the property and didn’t update the pictures. We also had plumbing issues that I took care of myself because I didn’t want to wait for maintenance to come fix it because I didn’t want my family to have to wait to shower because of clogged drains. The dishwasher was leaking half the time we used it and the refrigerator didn’t close unless you pushed it closed hard. The thing that really made us upset was the fact the place was infested with cockroaches. We called and complained and all that was done was the came an put glue traps out. We called again and a pest control company came and sprayed but not until the day we left. The beds were adequate but the pillows that were in there were stained from other people that visited before us. I just feel if you are owner of a property renting it out to traveling families or local families it should be met to the same standards as a hotel that has guild lines to follow. I understand it’s a private home being rented out but I would not recommend staying here if it isn’t kept clean and up to date as it should be for the price they are charging for a week. We will not be staying at that location again. I also think unless they fix the bug issue they shouldn’t be allowed to rent the property because it is just wrong to possibly cause health issues to traveling guests.

    I was so very unhappy with the cleanliness of the house upon arrival. Multiple rooms were dirty with dirty dishes left in the dishwasher, food and beverage containers, dirty underwear and more! The dryer did not work the entire stay. We were told to vacate while the repairman came to service the dryer (totally unacceptable). Even worse, the repairman failed to show! and we received no return call to say we could return to the home! We in actuality lost an entire day we paid for!! No toilet paper??? Even hotels give you toilet paper! On a positive note; plenty of hot water for everyone. LOVED the outside shower! My suggestions: have brochures/menus available in the home. Let people know the outer banks is basically closed on Sunday except for shopping. (Had we known this, we would have planned our days differently). I would not recommend this place!

    A great stay. Place was perfect. Super clean, great location near the sound with short trip to the ocean side. The parking pass was awesome. Owners have thoughtfully considered a lot of things a visiting family might need. Would definitely stay again. Seaside Vacations was also great. Very responsive, clear directions.

    We have been booking our outer banks stays through Seaside Vacations for at least the last 8 years or more. We have tried other companies before but now only use Seaside Vacations, their layaway plan makes staying in a nice unit much easier. We are looking forward to our next stay in a few weeks. I only hope that they go back to a 4:00 pm check in time in the future.

    We had a wonderful vacation at “Surfer’s Watch”. It was our first trip in a long time after the COVID-19 pandemic, and our first time visiting the Outer Banks. Our condo was beautiful, updated, and perfect for our family. The Seaside Vacations staff were very helpful when we needed to contact them. We called to inquire weather parking passes were needed and were told that while they typically aren’t necessary at our property they would check into it and drop them off the next morning if needed. Less than half an hour later there was a knock at the door and the passes were there! Amazing customer service! We hope to visit again soon!

    Seaside has great perks when you rent with them. Lots of discounts at various businesses in the area. And with the house I rented, YMCA access as well. Only issue was that the lawn had not been mowed when we arrived and didn’t get mowed until the end of our week. Our house had various yard games to play but the calf-high grass made it difficult.

    Working with Seaside vacations has been a pleasure. Everyone has been very professional and quick to respond to any questions or issues while making us feel like family. But our favorite Staff Member is Maple who came by to our rental Home "Mint Julep 5201" to help out with setting up for our first renters of the season. She said the pool, and being able to walk to the beach were her favorite features!

    Do NOT stay at Sammy’s Sandbox!! I spent my entire summer looking forward to this vacation with my husband and our three little kids, and the house was an absolute disaster. I posted a very long review, but Google wouldn’t post it. I also posted a review on their site, and they refuse to post it. Extremely dishonest. Worst vacation I have ever had. Check out the pictures!!!! They like to think roaches are totally normal. When these things start crawling the walls and counters at night it’s not so fun. And interestingly enough when we called they said the owner refused to spray Bc they had just sprayed two weeks before our stay. So instead they sprayed themselves. I specifically asked them to spray outside only since I had three very little children in the house. They happen to come when we weren’t home and sprayed the inside anyway. And I’m sorry, but every lawn around me was nice. I shouldn’t have to call you. Take care of your properties.

Landscaping was performed and kitchen inventory replaced, among other services. Unfortunately there was nothing we could do to make you happy. Our listing accurately depicts the cottage you rented and, due to our remote location surrounded preserved wildlife areas, guests may encounter critters and pests that they are not used to seeing. We do educate our guests on the nature of our local area and pest control is not an effective treatment for some of the critters, like water bugs. They live in the grasses and marsh surrounding the home. We hope to have the opportunity of hosting you under better circumstances.     We had a fantastic time at our Seaside Vacation rental. The booking process was completely digital and seamless. We received reminder emails about the property and about partnerships, even how to and what to prep for our trip. The packing tips and recommendations were super helpful. Once there, the property was perfect, clean, linens and towels nicely wrapped and ready for use, and a nice welcome kit. They were also very responsive - one of the doors to the console table fell apart as we opened it, we reported it, and they responded immediately. We can’t wait for our next stay with Seaside Vacations.

    We love the Outer Banks and were looking forward to our trip with Seaside Vacations for a blissful week by the sea. Unfortunately, we had to cancel last minute. Although this was beyond disappointing, Seaside kindly helped me submit my insurance claim, and answered all my questions in a courteous manner. My previous dealings while planning the trip were equally pleasant. They are also extremely well organized. We definitely plan on rescheduling and on booking with Seaside again.

    Had a wonderful vacation. Perfect weather. Home was situated just right. A block away from the beach,restaurants, stores. Great area. The best thing about our home was the bottom porch or breezeway. Constant breeze all the time. Had an out door shower that was perfect after coming from the beach.

    The house was plenty big enough with 7 br and we enjoyed the kitchen and many bedrooms. It was close to the beach and the roads we were able to do some biking on the many streets in the area. The hot tub was nice to have. This was our second time staying at this home.

    Dolfin’s Folly house location is fantastic for access to the sound for a nice walk in the water, exploring by kayak in the marsh waterway or kiting in the shallow sound! We loved the red deck furniture! Loved the pool for kids and adults. Overall we had a blast! The staff we interacted with to do the rental were very professional and the house is maintained very well. Thanks!

    I had a great experience with Seaside Vacations. My husband and I had booked another place through a different company for our vacation in the Outer Banks, and unfortunately the listing was grossly misrepresented and we had to find another place to salvage our weeklong getaway. I saw a listing that fit what we were looking for on the Seaside website, and within 30 minutes of calling and speaking to Melinda, we had signed a lease and had move in instructions for that day. Their customer service is top-notch as well as their communication. One morning the internet went down at our rental - they reached out to us proactively, letting us know that a tech would be out that morning. Everything was easy peasy, and the listing was well priced and represented accurately in the listing. We will definitely be using Seaside Vacations for any future rentals in the Outer Banks!!

    We had a great stay at Shellous 8/29-9/5. The house was a great fit for our family. Pool was clean and hot tub was serviced while we were there. Walking distance to the beach. When we notified Seaside regarding anything they responded promptly. The cleaning needs to be better but since we were there already we cleaned ourselves. The furniture needs to be updated and a good power wash to help. Definitely will book through them again. It was a good vacation . Will definitely book through Seaside again.

    ***I'm editing this post to give full disclosure about this company. Their response to me after me writing this google review was "we will only refund $100 for the broken hot tub and dirty upper floor since you left a bad google review." To promise a clean home with certain amenities - take 100% of my money and then refund me less than 4% of my rental fee after I spent close to $50 on cleaning supplies alone - is insane. Not to mention, they said I didn't give them enough time to rectify the situation. I gave them 9 days. Thanks property owner and property coordinator. You are thieves.*** We arrived on Saturday before Easter at Fairways & Seaspray, and the top floor had not been cleaned of our rental. There was blood and urine on the toilets and the floor had not been mopped. I had to go out and buy cleaning supplies to mop and clean the toilets since there were none in the house. And, since it was a holiday weekend and it wasn’t an emergency maintenance issue, we would have to wait until Monday to get the place cleaned. The floor was literally black and sticky with some sort of candy from the previous guests. Also, the hot tub NEVER worked. So we paid full price for a dirty house with an amenity we couldn’t use, which wasn’t ideal considering it was chilly and we specifically chose this house for the hot tub. I called and texted every single day we were there to try and get some sort of update on the hot tub and then by the end of the week, to request some sort of reimbursement for the broken hot tub and dirty top floor. We left this past Saturday and no one has returned any of my calls, and it’s Monday. Do not rent from this company unless you want to get ripped off. Rent from Twiddy.

    Well I guess Seaside conveniently forgot about us, and it doesn't surprise me. Let me explain. During our visit (June 3-10 2022) our seaside home started to have plumbing/septic issues on Wednesday June 8th. We notified seaside and in response they sent a plumber who concluded that it was a septic tank issue which he could not fix. So we waited for the first septic tank company that evening. He decided that he could not attempt to fix it that night and told us that he would probably be back early the next morning. He never came. I'll spare you the details of our bathroom situation during this time. Meanwhile, seaside offered to "try" to find us another home to move to which we declined because it was the last 2 days of our stay. I didn't want to spend a whole day of my family vacation moving houses the day before we leave. So we eventually met a second septic tank company at the house and we stayed with him helping him, talking with him explaining the situation, and flushing the toilets at his request. One of the property management employees asked me to try and find a bathroom nearby for our... uh uhm... number 2 needs... which was unsuccessful. The property manager finally found out that the guests across the street from our home had checked out early and offered that home to us to walk to and use the bathroom there when we needed to. We were satisfied with that because frankly it was our best option. But after taking time out of our vacation and meeting and helping a plumber, 2 septic tank companies, walking the neighborhood to try and find a bathroom, taking full blown showers in the outside shower meant for rinsing off because sewage was coming up in the tub and the plumber told us that was the best thing to do due to it being separate lines.... I felt we should be compensated for our time and troubles. To which I was told by seaside that "we offered to move you to a different house and you didn't want to so I'm not sure what you're gonna get out of it." When I told the property manager what I was told his response was "no, we will definitely discuss compensation." Then 1 week after our stay and I had not heard from him (June 17th) I text him and he responded... "Hey! We have been working with the owner on this, I will see what I can find out before the end of the weekend!" It is now July 9th and I haven't heard from anyone at seaside other than their repeated request for me to review my stay so I decided to do just that. It is my opinion that seaside does not appreciate the time and inconvenience I spent on my vacation. If I had ever gotten the chance to talk with them after the incident I was simply going to ask for a percentage off of a repeat stay next year but now I'm not sure that I would ever be interested in staying with them again. The home was nice but for the price we paid we should not have had to worry about where our party of 6 were going to.... poop!!

    We had a good experience with Seaside Vacations! We used Sun Realty for a few years and while we never had any huge issues, it was nice to see how another rental company worked. I felt the communication regarding check in and check out procedure was timely and thorough and they even contacted us to make sure the property was in good shape on arrival and to tell us that midges may be in the area. We did have one issue with a dirty vent that I noted in my correspondence and while they said someone would come check it out, no one did. That's the only complaint I have. We will definitely consider using them for next year's vacation rental!

    We had a great experience using Seaside Vacations. There was a lot of communication prior to our vacation so we knew what to expect when we arrived at our home. Both of our showers were backed up on the 1st day. We called and they immediately sent someone over and we did not have another problem for the rest of our stay. (Seems that there was a lot of seaweed the week prior to our visit). We had clear directions on what to do when we checked out that had been emailed to us prior to our vacation and as a reminder during our vacation. I will definitely use Seaside Vacations again.

    This was my family's second time staying in Kill Devil Hills. We booked this house with another family so we were 4 adults and 4 children in total. We booked with seaside vacations through airbnb. The pictures on airbnb were misleading. The house was listed as "Indebted by the Sea" We were all very nervous to travel during the pandemic but felt better after reading the rental companies cleaning standards. Unfortunately the condition of the house was not at all what we were hoping to find for our family vacation. Upon arriving we noticed layers of dirt and dust on all fans in the rooms and air vents. Air filter in the hallway was visibly covered with dirt. All AC units were leaking. The carpet didn't appear to have been cleaned. There was hair in the shower upon arrival. No drain in kitchen sink which made it very difficult doing dishes. Odd numbers of kitchen items such as 1 margarita glass, 3 wine glasses,a blender with missing parts.. There were old pots and pans with loose handles for cooking. The handle on the oven is also broken..Hot tub area smelled of urine so it could not be used. Electric conduit to hot tub broken. Pool gate and shower door didn't function properly. This made it very difficult for our children as well. There is a central air unit but it does not work. Small ac units did not work optimally to cool down the house. There was blue tape to seal the ac. One bedroom did not even have a unit and was always warm. One bedroom did not have a dresser and therefore those guests had nowhere to store their clothes. Front storm door closes so hard it catches your leg. There were a few injuries from that door Pool leaks so you need to add water daily with the hose. There is a game room across from the pool area, however it does not connect to the house at all. There is not a bathroom to use on that level either when using the pool. There is a fridge/freezer in the game room however the fridge is not working. The best thing about this house was the location to the beach. It truly is about a 5 minute walk. It would be much more convenient for guests renting to have chairs, umbrella, beach cart, etc at the house to use. For 2 families in our thirties with small children this house did not come close to our expectations. The pictures make it look like it is in much better shape than what it is. I will not use this rental company again. Update 9/8/20 Still have not heard anything from owner after a leaving a message. The are obviously not interested in making things right. So glad we booked our 2021 vacation with Twiddy!

    We stayed at the Makai property in Duck, NC. It was soundfront compared to the oceanfront that we are used to so I was worried we wouldn't be as happy... boy! I was wrong! We enjoyed every second of being there. The house layout was nice and fit the 4 families we travel with comfortably. The pool was large and the kiddie pool was a hit with the little ones. We checked in on the Sunday after Hurricane Florence hit so we were a little worried we wouldn't be able to get to the house due to mandatory evacuations but the rental company kept in touch with us and kept us up to date on everything going on. Couple things about this specific property: the rooms with bunks are best suited for children or small women.. large men found the beds uncomfortable. There is an infestation of crickets on the lower level... you're feet from the Sound and insects are going to make it in but there was over 10 of them. The sound is not swimable from this property. The ocean is a little bit of a trek away but not awful. There are no baking dishes/pans but lots of pots. There are two coffee pots as well as a Kuerig! The dock was amazing and we spent a most of our time out there. We caught sooo many sea creatures! Really really enjoyed this property... the sunset views are out of this world AMAZING!

    The condo was in a great location. The front door was super hard to get open. It opened onto the balcony and then you opened a sliding door to get into the condo. The bed in the master bedroom was small. It did not feel like a queen size bed. Also, the master bathroom was very small. No counter space and no place in the shower for shampoo, soap, etc. When we got there, I found a huge hair ball in the master bath sink. The floors were very slippery. The rug in the dining room did not have an adequate pad to stop people from slipping. We all slipped multiple times. The kitchen was nice. I however found a dirty coffee mug in the cupboard. We also had to unload the dishwasher when we got there that had someone else's dishes in it. The laundry area was not good. It was very dirty and the washers and dryers were all rusted. Pool area was very nice. It was located right on the beach which was a huge plus!! Being a corner balcony, we never got direct sunlight. The upper bunk bed had 2 broken boards that hold the mattress up. We loved the convenience of being so close to restaurants and stores. The beach area was so beautiful!! The lightning in both bedrooms were lamps no wall mounted lights so you had to walk across the room to turn a light on.

    What The Duck is beautiful -close to town and the beach. The community has an oceanfront pool too! Seaside Vacations do a great job. House was so comfortable and well appointed. It is a great place to vacation

    As annual visitors to the Outer Banks, we are experienced renters. It just goes to show you cannot judge a place by the online pictures. We rented the Fun In the Sun house in Corolla. Upon arrival, we were unable to get into the upper level of the pool house without going through an unlocked window. None of the keys provided worked in the door. It is a mystery how it was locked in the first place. The pool house rooms reek of mildew and could not be aired out due to the fact none of the windows had screens. Futile attempts resulted in a ceiling full of bugs. We paid $480 to heat the pool. The heat pump was not functioning when we arrived. After calling people out to the house twice to look at it, it was finally warming the pool Wednesday evening.(More than half way through our vacation) When the filter failed, candy bar wrappers and other garbage from previous tenants was found clogging the filter. We were told not to use the waterfall because it leaked (pretty cool function to have) and turning on the pool lights blew the breaker. The hot tub cover is a disgrace- it is coming apart in pieces and leaves little chunks of its innards in the hot tub to stick to inhabitants. As the weather this week was iffy at best, this was an important replacement for days we could not go to the beach. There were several broken finials on the fence. Some had beer cans and drink bottles sticking out of them from previous tenants. The railing outside of the second-floor queen master is broken- fortunately, no one leaned on it hard enough to fall. The house Wi-fi is not good. The signal is weak in the house and pool area and does not reach the pool house. The movie theater is a smart tv and the wi-fi signal is not strong enough to operate any of its functions. There is also broken seats in the theater. Dirty vents and poorly working refrigerators rounded out the experience. The volleyball pit was fun (if the ball did not go in the thorny bushes) and the pool was nice once the heater was working. Unfortunately, it isn’t enough to recommend this place to others.

    Had an excellent vacation with Seaside Vacations. The house we stayed at was super clean, the provided amenities (towels, coffee, etc.) was a appreciated, and the staff was super responsive. We had a slight issue with the door lock not unlocking so we called the office and they helped explain the issue and even unlocked it for us remotely!

    We just got back from our stay in Outer Banks. Our place was called Serendipity and it was above our expectations plus we couldn’t have been in a better spot on the beach. The place was clean, modern, had everything you could need on vacation. The deck is great with a new grill and we stepped off it right in front of the pool. Beach is so close we were able to walk back and forth with no problem. Perfect for a family. Sand like silk, not rocky, and no seaweed. Very , very clean place. We called upon arrival for a set of king sheets and had them within a half hour, delivered by a girl that greeted us with a pleasant attitude and beautiful smile. The phone attendant was so very helpful and kind also. We can’t wait to go back next year. Would definitely stay here again.

    This was our first time using Seaside for our rental home, and I wouldn’t hesitate to use them again or recommend them to others! The home was exactly as advertised, ready earlier than scheduled (and contacted us with the code to get in early), was clean and well appointed (Linens and towels included, welcome bag with some helpful necessities, etc). Anything we needed addressed during our stay was addressed within the same day if not within hours. In a time where everyone is short on staff, and many companies cutting back on the little extras and quality, Seaside excelled and gave our family a great week and experience!

    We were not pleased that our rental agency had not updated their website to show that the pool was still only open with "preseason hours" and thus wouldn't be usable while we were there. The pool was the MAIN reason we had rented that house and we'd have rented elsewhere if we'd known it wouldn't be open (even though we were there the second week of June). When I contacted the rental agency it took several calls before they even offered me any type of compensation. To be fair, they tried to get us passes to the local YMCA and then also told us of a local swimming spot that no one knew about...but none of these worked out. Having a pool we could walk to with our five littles was what we needed. Not something we had to drive to. All that to say, I had to ask for some compensation, b/c like I said, we'd have rented elsewhere. They never said they would or could...but when we got home we had received 3 coupons in the mail valued at $50 each. To be used on a seaside vacations rental within 18 months. We live over 6 hours away and won't be returning to the OBX for several years as my husband's job is taking us overseas next year. I really liked the house and the cleanliness, even the Seaside staff were kind and friendly on the phone. If the website had been accurate and the staff had offered me more suitable compensation I'd have rated this 5 stars.

    We enjoyed booking our vacation stay with Seaside Vacation. It was fast and easy. They have a better idea of home availability compared to other companies . Very responsive agency. Only thing I wish they work on is the $60 hold fee. I found an ocean front house booked it then visited the vacation house for our 2022 year summer stay. Found the house is For Sale and was too close to the public beach access that made the private home beach front too busy. I immediately emailed them about it and looked for another property. The Hold Fee is non refundable even for a 2 day gap. The rental agreement is not even final. Basically be ready to lose your Hold fee if you change your mind even within 2 days. That or join the waitlist with other companies for your next home rental.

    Our experience with Seasode vacations and the Southern Shores property was great. The cleanliness of the property, and amenities were excellent. It was obvious that Seaside employs very good and professional resources to ensure a high quality experience. Although we didn't speak directly with Seaside representative verbally during the process, the electric communications and payment portal were adequate. At no point did the communications and updates leave us with any questions. No issues with the check in or check out processes either. Will use Seaside Vacations again.

    Best family vacation ever! Seaside Vacations is very professional, flexible, knowledgeable, and very responsive! The house my family rented was beautiful, clean, spacious, and right on the beach! We had such a good time that we booked it again for the same time next year!

    Great condo, just steps from the beach. Nice outdoor showers to use to rinse the sand from your feet. 4 flights of stairs to climb to get to the unit, but if you're able to do it, the view provided from the deck is worth the climb. We enjoyed our stay at this condo with our family of 5 for a week. The beach in front of this building is strategically situated exactly in between two public access points, but seemed just a bit too remote for most beachgoers that were using the public access points to walk to. Therefore, we had more beach space to use and the beach felt less crowded right in front of the building than in other areas of the beach.

    Great spacious house with everything we needed for our family and dog! The pool was perfect and we spent a lot of time in it with our granddaughter. It was just a short walk to the beach, and the neighborhood was quiet snd pleasant. Very nicely decorated with convenient amenities.

    Starting with booking the home, setting up payment plans to follow up emails and texts. Always responded to any questions right away. Home was well represented on website and in very good condition. Had a few issues but were resolved very quickly and courteous staff. Would recommend

    house in South Nags Head was well equipped. The view was stunning, to see the sun rise every morning over the ocean was just amazing. Location couldn´t be better. House was very clean, appliances worked all very well. Some little maintenance would be necessary (floor, deck)

    I recently rented an oceanfront house and discovered upon arriving that the only windows that could be opened were in the master bedroom. None of the other windows had screens, had a label “please keep windows closed”, and were disabled so that they would not stay lifted/open. The rental listing did not mention the windows and I would not have rented a house at any time let alone during an airborne pandemic where I could neither hear the ocean nor feel the breeze. When I called to complain about the matter, a property manager was completely unhelpful, taking the position that the windows could be opened they just wouldn’t stay open. The manager explained that the windows had been disabled due to “disrespectful” tenants who opened the windows when it was humid outside. Yuk.
