Sarasota Medieval Fair FL, Myakka City

This faire has always been high quality but the new site really takes the whole experience to a new level. There are so many shows to choose from that there's no way you could get bored and the shopping is always wonderful. You can really tell that the cast is happy to be there and that they actually enjoy what they do.

The new location is fantastic! Went opening day with my 11 yr old, and we had a fantastic time. Large amount of vendors, the Henna lady was amazing and talented, and Broon was a highlight. Def don't miss his show!

It's so exciting that this show we've loved for years has a new home! The site is beautiful, and while it's easy to find from the highway, the long driveway really adds to the immersion. On opening day this year, I was greeted by several characters who I later saw in the pubs and in the human combat chess match! The music really sets the atmosphere here, it really feels like a festival. Can't wait to go back this weekend!

Nope. No. Never again. Waste of money. Not worth it - Total Highway Robbery! Been to several Medieval Fairs around the country. Expected to experience a great fair, but only found they nickel dime you every step of the way. You pay a ridiculously expensive entry fee for what? To be charged for everything, with little to no entertainment value. They want to charge for everything - and cash only on most of the things. Charged $10 for camel rides, horse rides, $$ for swing chairs, $$ for slack dragon ride, for rides, charged for escape area or mazes, charged for things you would think they would NOT charge for, even the people playing music have baskets set out for money. Most Medieval fairs either have very low cost or no cost or they charge one fee and you get access to everything, and the shows are included (with exception to the trinket kiosks). But at this one - you will be charged up the wazoo so that you can go in and get charged up the wazoo. No problem with self-expression and people having fun, but note that a surprisingly number of people took this opportunity to show up wearing their most risqué goth or partially exposed outfits, many of which were inappropriate for mixed company.

The Sarasota Medieval Fair's new location is quite beautiful. Tons of shade, many great shows to enjoy, and plenty of vendors to shop with. Bring the family out and spend the day enjoying this great festival.

Oh my goodness the new location is soooo beautiful! Driving there and being there makes it all feel even more authentic. My family has participated and visited this fair for years and we always have the best time! Great vendors, great entertainment, good food. The jousting is exciting but our fav event is the human chess match. The performers are so talented and authentic. Going back again soon!

I visited the Medieval Fair on the last weekend it ran (2021). I love the new location. It is out of the way, but the new venue is so big. There was so much to see and so many vendors. I love seeing the bird show and the jousting. There’s a big maze. Lots of food options, and three different restroom areas. They are portable toilets, but not too bad to use. The weather was just perfect when I went. A cool day and not a cloud in the sky. If you are going on a rainy day, don’t wear a very long dress, I heard it gets muddy

Awesome fair as always, the new grounds look nice, the vendors had a great selection and were friendly people. The jousting group were especially entertaining this year, the announcer was solid and the knights put on a great show. Thank you staff and I hope you have a lot of success at your new place.

Sarasota Medieval Fair has moved to it's new location in Myakka City and the place is incredible. There are tons of great shows, wonderful vendors, and plenty of shade. Definitely worth bringing the family and spending the day.

Was excited to see they got new grounds and had to check it out...Man was I glad I did! The smell of the turkey legs wafting in the air and incense from Wood, Willows, and What Knots. The sounds of Celtic Legacy playing bagpipes. There is something for everyone whether you want to watch full contact jousting, The Wheel of Death, or the wonderful Washing Well Wenches....They have been doing this for 17 years now and it show!
