Excellent customer service at this branch. They blow Bank of America out of the water. The employees go above and beyond to help their customers here -- they have even dropped paperwork off at my office to help save me time. Everybody is friendly and knowledgeable. They give good financial advice if you ask for it. And when you walk in, you are helped immediately (unlike the long lines at some other local banks). Plus they have a great selection of free coffees for customers. Their online banking portal is very well designed, and gives you a comprehensive view of all of your finances -- including accounts at other institutions if you choose to sync them. The free checking account comes with a nice signup bonus. And you can use any Allpoint ATM (which can be found in most pharmacies and many other stores) for free. The main negative is that savings accounts don't have great interest rates when compared to online-only offerings, but that is pretty much standard for a brick-and-mortar bank in this area. Their promo CD rates, however, are definitely competitive. I suggest opening a Sandy Spring checking account for day-to-day expenses and physical cash and check transactions. But pair it with an online-only savings account to get a better APR on your long-term savings. I have been very happy with this branch so far and will be a customer for a long time.
