Somehow this bank was able to access my credit report without any notice or permission and I received an alert stating that there was an inquiry affecting my score. This is identity theft and fraudulent. Beware! When I contacted Sallie Mae Bank, they wanted all personal information including Social Security Number just so I could obtain a letter for Transunion to remove the inquiry. Why would someone trust them with this information after they already stole it and used it for fraud.

customer service is rude and unknowledgable. My parents work in this field, so I am always kind and understanding of people in this industry. But the representatives told me blatanly incorrect statements about my loans, such as telling me there is no floor to my interest rate (turns out its 1.125%), and that there is no benchmark my interest rate is tied to (obviously lie. I escalated and found out they use 1 month LIBOR). The representatives did not even know what interest rate benchmarks such as LIBOR, SOFR, Fed Funds, etcetera were, which is pretty important when you are selling variable interest rate loans. Also they should know that other countries have negative rates, which could happen in the US too. When I ask if rates go negative, they should not be acting as if my question is stupid.

Predatory loan company that has done nothing to help borrowers during the covid-19 pandemic. Avoid this company and save yourself the trouble. You'll be better in the long run

Sallie Mae is so desperate for loans, they now solicit youth under the age of 18. What will our cities, counties, states, and country do to STOP this foolishness? We're reporting you Sallie Mae

Tried to charge my account twice for a 12,000 dollar charge. What kind of business are you running!

My identity was stolen and a hard credit inquiry has been in my credit for months without this company taking care of what they allowed to happen without my consent, they just said that they wouldn't allow the criminal to proceed with the loan, but they should also remove that inquiry from my credit and they didn't. I will report them to the BBB.

Customer service is a joke. I have tried to get ahold of them regarding my application the last two times and were transferred about 4-6 times each call. My loan was denied per an error on my credit report. I got a copy of my credit reports as well as my existing student loan showing the error. All I was told is that there is nothing they can do they cannot review or override my application. Having a college education would be life changing for not only myself but for my family. It’s heart breaking knowing that I was stopped in my tracks for an error that I cannot control and no one can surpass it.

The customer service is whack and they have employees who have harass me on social media
