Rob helped my partner and I with our original home loan and our refinance. He and his team are extremely professional, responsive, and patient while explaining the intricacies of the home loan process. We wanted to use this space to give a special shout out to Rob Mercer from First Home Mortgage! As first time home-buyers, we were very unsure of what to expect when it came to financing options. Considering the amount of money, moving parts, interest rates, etc., we were feeling very overwhelmed and unsure of ourselves. After comparing many different banks, credit unions, internet banks, we scheduled our first call with Rob. Within the first 5 minutes, we knew we had the right guy and company for the job. Rob was very transparent with us throughout the process and didn’t make any promises that he couldn’t keep. He was always available to walk us through a loan estimate, explain every line item, and every document needed for the loan. He'll take the time (even on nights and weekends) to answer every last question you have. His customer service focused approach and professionalism were unparalleled. We truly felt that he had our best interests at heart, and he did everything in his power to make sure we were happy from beginning to end. On top of all that, Rob is a really nice person who will keep you laughing, even at an incredibly stressful time. About six months ago I started the house search and for some reason decided to go with my credit union, which in actuality was just Lending Tree who handed me off to Gateway. They offered me a rate that wasn't all that attractive. So I called Rob, who was confident he could get me a much better rate. But that is not the chief reason I am writing a favorable review. The thing that sets Rob apart is his availability. I've sent him E-mails well into the evening or on the weekend figuring I'd receive responses once business hours resumed, but instead have gotten responses within minutes. He is very attentive. I've now done two purchases and a refinance with him and would gladly go back because of the excellent service.
