Riverside Bank TX, Huntsville

Deposited an employer retirement check opening a new checking account last Monday. I was told it would be a 5 day waiting period, which at the time seemed okay but turned out to be a big mistake. Then, i decided it was best to close the acct after it cleared 5 days later only to be told I could not close the acct for another 3 days to check for fraud and other checks that might clear. I haven't been able to use this acct so how can checks "clrar"? This put me in severe financial difficulty. I was also told I had to pay $10 to close the acct after the 3 additional days of "clearing ". Has anyone else had this problem with this bank? I am very stressed about this and can't pay bills because they won't release the money.
