This review is long over due. Evelyn helped me close on my house so fast, my life was not prepared for it. I closed on my house a little over a month ago. If you are looking to buy a house and you do not where to start, you need to go to Evelyn! If you don't think you can buy a house, go to Evelyn! I didn't think I was ready to buy a house. I listened to google, I listened to realtors and I listed to my friends who already bought a house. So I was doing everything I thought I needed to do to prepare myself to buy a house. I wasted two years listening to everyone tell me how to buy a house. I thought I would just meet with Evelyn to see if she could recommend a way to get this house faster. I was not prepared for her to PRE-APPROVE ME THE SAME DAY that I met her. I had always been ready and everyone was just giving me the wrong advice. GO TO EVELYN, EVERY ONE ELSE IS LYING TO YOU! LOL I seriously went to Evelyn for almost everything. Everything! My boyfriend joked and would call her my mother/attorney. Because when I had a problem I would call her. She guided me through my whole entire home buying process and although I have closed on my house over a month ago. She is still here for me as much as before. Actually , she is the one that calls me and asks if I need anything. I can not recommend you go to her enough. I happened to have found Evelyn on the RIHousing website. She was on the list of most recommended mortgage loan officers. She was #1. I now see why. :) Evelyn and all her workers are so wonderful to work with. They are so welcoming and professional. Buying a house does get a tad stressful, I feel like they kept my stress to a minimum and when I did lose it with one of the girls there, she did not lose it with me. They never let me down. She's never pushed me to anything I didn't. Never rushed me although I was rushing her. Always kept me informed. Evelyns office works fast and efficient. They made everything convenient for me, evening meeting me after hours last minute when I really couldn't make it during normal business hours. I was in my house within 4 months from the day I was pre-approved. I would of been in there a lot sooner if I had not been so picky with picking my house and also if I had not go and splurged at Christmas time. I am truly blessed to have met Evelyn and her team. Especially during this time. They got me into an amazing home with all this crazy stuff going on, just in time to keep all my babies safe. She is the most, professional, efficient, compassionate and positive person I have ever met in my life. I don't know if Evelyn you read your own reviews. A blessing I do not usually write reviews but try to do my homework before making any significant purchases or decisions that are relevant. However, I do write reviews for Google, and when I feel that someone has gone the extra mile, I share that with others as a good neighbor. We came to Dan because he was the best recommended in this area and when our realtor also recommended him, that was a clear confirmation. Bottom line: After looking at many lenders including our own bank, Rhode Island Housing, other lenders, and even the "best lender" in the country. Dan was by far the most transparent and genuine; I strongly encourage you to ask any question as he is thorough and knowledgeable. We appreciated the fact that his goal was to not only get us the best deal but to make sure we had no questions or worries before the closing (while being fully transparent). I will tell you this, the "top lender" in the nation could not really match what Dan was offering, although for the sake of business they tried coming back with something that was supposedly better; but I just did not trust them and had built a good relationship with then. Yes, it's a business, and yes, Dan is a lender... however, he is not just after the numbers and comes across as someone who truly cares and is concerned. Customers are usually right and just read the other genuine reports. I do know there was one person that complained because they did not lock the rate and it went up before the closing (I sympathize with that person and hope the best for them); however, we actually end up going around the same scenario and end up getting a rate that the "top lender" in the country said take that deal, it's unbelievable, we cannot match it (again their boss reconsidered and made them try to force a deal, but I had an uncomfortable feeling that somewhere those numbers were manipulated and the cost hidden in other areas). We had what I consider a miraculous closing cost and interest rate according to standards, I give all glory to God for this (although if you can help it it's best not to get a loan). However, if you have to get one like ultimately, we decided to (by the grace of God), I cannot underestimate the role that Dan played in helping with this process. Lastly, I am not here to sell Dan to you, but simply letting you know of our experience with Dan and Providence Mortgage as you go through this process yourself (the rest of the team was classy as well). Let me start off by saying, if you want to close on time (or ever) than look elsewhere. Months of delays and terrible support. Rates would constantly go up even though every other broker has them going down. They will even pin something called a desk review on you after you pay for an appraisal. These people will treat you like a criminal and make promises they won’t keep. Better yet ask your seller to hold paper so you don’t have to pay any closing costs or random fees. Trust me if you want a mortgage do not use these folks! They will waste months of your time!
