Provident Bank Central Ave, Riverside

On 4/21/2021 I was issued LOI from the bank to refinance an apartment building I have owned for over 10 years. It was a straight forward transaction and just 50% loan to value. I have been a owner of apartment building for nearly 20 years and have never had a worse experience than with Provident Bank and Kerry Canto. After 4 months of providing every piece of documentation in the end the total number of requests from the bank was over 30 different documents on 22 different days and emails they denied my loan based on what they call "global cash flow". Within one week I was approved at Chase and I closed the loan with Chase very very easily. It was a difficult and stressful time trying to work with Provident Bank and they kept the $2500 "processing fee". It makes zero sense that run a global cash flow at the very end of a painful approval process. This is about my 30th refinance transaction and Provident ranks a clear last.

I walked in to this bank thinking wow another bank. To my surprise he almost welcomed me with open arms because that is how friendly and wonderful this investment leader is. He shook my hand and immediately a female from his team came in and lead me to the appropriate area for further assistance. I never had to wait and I was handed a glass of water. I also could choose coffee if I liked to. All transactions completed and paperwork completed and my friend and I left in a short amount of time. I mean 10 or 15 minutes after all questions answered.

For those of you looking to open a small business checking account, go to Union Bank. Provident does not specialize in small business banking. I highly recommend, Union Bank on Vine Street in downtown Riverside. They are experts in small business banking and will gladly sign you right up, right then and there -- provided you show up with all the necessary legal documents, that is... If you are unsure, call Sara or Max at the Vine Street office in downtown Riverside and ask them, it will save you a lot of time.

Poorest excuse for a bank. This bank has to be the worst experience I've ever had to deal with. They are horrible with small business banking. If you want your account done right, go somewhere else. This isn't worth the time or the hassle. I'm 100% dissatisfied with this bank.

They change tellers like I change my socks. I have been bank at Provident bank for 27 years. The other day I did the drive in window to deposit two checks. On the back of both checks I put for deposit only. The teller who was another new one want. She asked for my ID. I said what for? Oh we want to make sure there were no changes. Huh? That made no sense, plus I was just depositing not withdrawing from the checks. Use to have good people there at one time.
