    Terrible customer service. They don't care about their members and their rules are not consistent. I got charged interest because my payment wasn't posted on my due date which happened to fall on a weekend even though I put the payment through the day before It was due (Friday). So basically if you're due date falls on the weekend you have to make sure you pay it 3days advance because they don't care about when you put the payment through just when its posted. They stated that I was late so that's why the interest was charged on my account but yet they didn't charge me a late fee... Interesting I wonder why they didn't charge me a late fee? Very inconsistent and makes no sense to me at all. When I said I was going to cancel they said "okay no problem, I'll send you the form". Once I pay my balance off no more credit card for me, good riddance. Also this is not the first issue I've had with them this was just the final straw.

    Why oh why are you still closed? I can sit in a theatre audience, schools are open, all other banks are open, but I can’t walk into your lobby for 4 minutes. Ridiculous. Way to make it super hard for customers! Vaccine your employees, don a mask, and open up your credit union. It’s time.

    I have been a member at this bank since 1996. Up until a few years ago, the service was excellent! I had multiple accounts and even referred many family members. Most recently, my son was a victim of fraud. It’s been over 4 months and the investigation has yet to be resolved despite the numerous times that I’ve followed up. The branch manager doesn’t respond to emails or calls. When you speak with a rep, they aren’t able to see or provide any information on the account. I asked to speak to the President of the bank and was mysteriously disconnected. Do not bank here!

    Great branch in my opinion. Very accommodating, friendly, and genuinely helpful staff to provide the best possible service/resolution of service to their members. This is a result of first-hand experience - Working, with good follow-up to get me approved for my car loan, simple/easy going process (with lower APR % than I would have received from the dealership) Opening up my first credit card was fast and simple and they always work with me and provide honest opinions/options rather then just treating me like "just another costumer" Ultimately, I'm very happy with banking with them and continue to do future business because of that.

    Those that work here are very polite and helpful whenever needed. Nice bank. Could use extra cleaning here and there compared to the other banks but overall never had a bad experience doing business with this bank.

    My whole family have been members since the 80’s when it was still HLR. Back then the service was wonderful at no charge. Now, the service is still good but they charge for every little request. I only keep Proponent for sentimental reasons since I’ve been with them for over 30 years… disappointing. Time to move on ….

    Proponent has been a few resource for me throughout the yrs. I just prefer a more sample way on how to bank with them it’s limited locations and more effective website would be great. I not looking for offers they us usps services for that. And the hotline is not great as well

    Save yourself the hassle. They practice poor communication with their customers. One rep will tell you one thing in regards to your account then what they told you doesn't occur so you have to call back. When you call back with the same issue that you previously reported, you will get told something totally different by a different rep. I made a mobile deposit by Ford motor corporation. They gave me credit for the 2 grand only to come back at the end of the 2nd business day to place a secret hold on the funds. Based on my available balance, i paid my rent. After noticing a grand of my money gone, i never saw my rent clear. Instead they bounced my rent payment and charged me overdraft fees. I was furious. I asked the rep what happened to my funds and I was told that the deposit credit was given to me initially but that an extended hold was placed on my deposit for a week because Ford motor company's corporate account flagged for fraudulent activity. Really? Ford makes and sells automotive why would this happen? It took 3 reps and 5 different phonecalls to finally get an answer. My problem with this besides the frustration is the lack of communication. If the extended hold needed to be placed after the deposit was credited to my account permanently, i think that they should have called me, text, or email me of the extended hold. Now, i am going to have to deal with $50/ day late fees with my management company of which the credit union needs to reimburse me. When that decision to pull some of my funds back out of my account, i should have been notified immediately. This is not the first issue that I have had to deal with concerning them. I am going back to Chase bank. At least they have always been informative with me in regards to my account.

    I have been a customer for 20 years. Recently the Montclair branch closed without notification. I had sent, via mail, a very large deposit. It took numerous calls to the service center and Nutley branch to attempt to track down my deposit. I received conflicting information. I eventually had to stop payment on checks. After one month, mail was returned to me. In the meantime, I continued to make deposits via mail. On four separate occasions, receipts were returned to me along with mailing envelopes for the MONTCLAIR branch. Despite my best efforts, the Branch Manager has not resolved this issue.

    The absolute worst bank . They don't have a customer service person after 5 pm weekdays after 2 pm on Saturdays and no one on sundays. They will stop your card from working if they suspect fraud without calling you and you cannot call no one to tell them its you because the bank is closed. They refund no overdraft fees and charge you 10.00 to transfer your money. They ABSOLUTELY do not refund for fraud on your account.. INSANE
