Planters Bank Reviews

Well here's the story I live in Ogden, Utah and my mother grew up in Princeton, Kentucky and wanted to go thru my Uncle Bob to setup a trust for all her children. I advised her to get some local independent Trustee and Bank since she had since moved to Bountiful, Utah and all her children live in Utah now. It has been nothing but trouble because of the cultural differences between the two places. Now I have to deal with Scott Hancock since my Uncle is now deceased and him and I do not work well since the beginning. Scott keeps on communicating with the local Trustee Celeste Canning, whom I despise, for advice on everything about me. In conclusion all I can recommend is not to go with Planters Bank at any cost.

Adrian Bruce came down to Sisk Nissan to talk with us about our options for our HSA. She was super sweet, friendly, and helpful.

Can't say enough about the terrific team of people at Planter's Bank. Thankful to have such a professional and progressive community bank in our town.

Planters bank is by far the worst I have ever done business with. There is no 24 hour support line like what is provided at every other bank I have ever held an account with & they are stingy with money that doesn't belong to them. For instance, I have 6k in my savings account & wish to transfer $100 to checking, it takes DAYS TO GET YOUR OWN MONEY! (At banks I've used in the past, transfers between your own checking & savings accounts are available immediately..because, after all, your simply accessing your own funds) Same with cash ATM deposits. If I deposit CASH into an ATM on a Monday, I'm lucky to have access to those funds on Thursday. It's absolutely ridiculous. And God forbid anyone should actually question why it takes 3 DAYS to transfer money from my OWN ACCOUNTS because the employees don't have a clue. I also find it incredibly ridiculous that I have to alert the bank if I have weekend plans! There have been multiple occasions where I have tried to shop over the weekend at a mall not in my home town..only to be embarrassed at a checkout lane when my transaction is denied because the Bank decided I wasnt shopping where they wan ted me to & I didnt get 'permission' prior to walking into a store. And of course, there is no customer support whatsoever on Saturday/Sunday so I can't even call them and request that they GIVE ME MY OWN MONEY!! So any last minute shopping plans or spur of the moment dinner plans outside of my hometown are not even an option. They claim this is for 'fraud protection' but that is a joke! When I'm in a store 20 minutes from my hometown trying to make a $15 purchase & the transaction is declined, that is NOT so called 'fraud protection', it's simply attempting to hold onto to customer money by denying access to their funds. If a charge comes through from somewhere hundreds or thousands of miles away, I can see why they'd question that, but that isn't what this place does & there is no option to pass on their so called fraud protection. Banking with them is akin to giving your funds to a warden who'll do everything they can to make sure you can't access your money. As soon as the banks open on Monday, I am removing every penny of money from this bank. I would prefer stashing it under a mattress than the constant struggle to access my own funds. Planters bank needs to get with the times & stop going out of their way to prevent customers from accessing their own money, or they should close their doors immediately & permanently!!!
