My wife and I were extremely pleased with the service we received from Brian Beck and the Ed Hoffman team. The process was smooth, quick, and professional. Brian kept us informed throughout the whole process. He was friendly, courteous, and professional. This is the second time we have gone through the refinance process with Ed Hoffman and his team since 2015, and should there be another need for such, we will be back.

We just closed on a home this month and Jeff Baltz was our mortgage loan officer per recommendation from our realtor Anita Kramer-Carlson. We were a bit nervous due to prior bad experiences, but let me tell you, Jeff was phenomenal! We came into this process with nothing prepared, as we were not expecting to find the house of our dreams, and Jeff was able to pull our loan together over 24-36hrs (over Easter weekend I might add [so sorry about that part, Jeff!!!]). Jeff is incredibly knowledgeable and if there is a complicated detail that he doesn’t know, he knows who to contact to figure it out and gets that done asap. His communication is prompt and detailed, and he is so respectful and kind. Overall, Jeff was such a pleasure to work with. He will hands down be the loan officer we choose if we are ever in the market to buy a new home. Carlos far exceeded my expectations as a partner on my home purchase. He got started on processing our loan immediately and within hours had a pre approval letter ready to go. Thanks for the help and making this process a breeze.

I have been in communication with the company and have kept calm and have been respectful. One month of nothing being resolved. To have a company have more than one person involved in a issue with a payment received and signed for from Fedex then deducted from my bank account that has not been funded to my loan account is ridiculous. They promise a date to resolve the issue of payment being signed off and received with emails of attached proof and still nothing is resolved. I would not recommend the company to anyone. But I guess when your home loan is bought by them from another lender you have no choice. Ridiculous! I wish I had been treated the way others have been from previous reviews online.

Customer service is unprofessional. I know its early in the morning to call at 845am but its your job to help people. Linda in the customer service is so unprofessional. She give tou this attitude that shes in a hurry and dont wanna talk to you. Your not even finish with all your question that you wanna ask and she tell you to have a nice day and hang up the phone. How unprofessional is that.

I'd like to say refinancing with PHL has been smooth, but it really hasn't and it's been working at a glacial speed. We started the process in mid June and still have yet to close. Every deadline they have set stating we will have a response by X date, they have missed and I've had to ask for updates when it gets close to that time. Then one week before closing they noticed there were some inquiries in my credit and stated we needed to update them on what it was, even though they've already agreed to refinance. I've updated them on this the day after the request and it's still getting pushed out. We were supposed to be closing tomorrow (September 11th), but the most recent update is we're still looking at two weeks out with no definitive date again. Overall they've been a decent mortgage company, but the refinancing process has not been a great experience.

It was such a pleasure working with Andrew Charron and David Kent. They were so friendly and very knowledgeable. They were there every step of the way and made the process so easy. Toni was amazing from start to finish! She is very knowledgeable about the process, patient, professional, and she took the time to explain each of our loan options thoroughly. In his 15 years of doing loans this is the first time he had ever received a perfect packet from a lender & he wanted to know how we found her! Andrew Charron made my refinancing a breeze. His knowledge of the industry made me very comfortable trusting him. Every step in the process was quick and easy and any calls or emails were answered immediately. Even with the high volume of refinancings I always felt that I was a priority. His coworker, David Kent, would always let me know when something was due or coming up and was truly kind and helpful. I can’t recommend them enough!

I had a very hard time hearing the representatives and they continued to place me on hold. They hung up on me. The supervisor whose name is Chris from the customer service department did not know anything about the taxes for the mortgage. They kept giving me false information saying they never received the documents and it had been received for two hours. Someone from the tax department finally came on and confirmed that the documents were received two hours prior. She confirmed it was the correct form needed even though Chris lied and said that was not the correct document. Not satisfied with this company.

Had the servicing of my mortgage transferred to them with absolutely no information on how to set up recurring payments or even what my loan number was. Called them to try and figure it out but was put on hold for 45 minutes until they finally disconnected the call. Really stellar service *rolls eyes*

What a blessing I was given to have met and worked with a wonderful person in getting my home. Melissa was and is so knowledgeable. She got the ball rolling and had the closing set up within a month. Avoid at all costs! They are about as unprofessional as it comes. We had to spend hours on the phone with 4-5 calls because they didn't pay our taxes and we're overdue by 3 months. Then when that was finally resolved I found out they didn't pay our home owners insurance so then we had a house with no coverage. This is basic stuff for a mortgage company and they can't do it. Find another company!

Working with planet home lending was one of the best experiences of mi life, we were able to be home owners for the first time! The whole process was very smooth Esmeralda Villalon is the best loan processor always very attentive and willing to help, truly caring for her cuatomers , all the team from planet very polite helpful and thorough. We were able close within 21 days! I really recommend planet for mortgage!!!

Really bad experience. I shopped loans and they offered a good price. However, after my first estimate, i got 3 more loan estimates and each time the price/cost of the loan went up $1,000. When i complained i was offered a discount, but the discount did not make up for the significant increases ( the last increase coming 3 days before closing, even though the rate was 'locked in'). Lots of surprises through the process and never felt i got clear communication. Went to closing expecting a check and 2nd to last surprise - no check, we have to wait until rescission period expires. ok, news to me, but just let me know up front. we get to end of rescission - no money. next day (2 days after end of rescission) - no money, now i'm getting worried that i've been scammed. Called the Attorney who closed and they said "sorry, we don't have the money or permission to send to you". Finally i raised it up the escalation chain and later that day the money showed. absolutely the WORST refinancing experience of my life. Never got what i consider satisfactory answers for increased costs or late payment. I had a very serious conversation after the first increase with the broker and said 'i hate surprises, so this is the last time prices will go up, right?'. two more price increases after that, and i can in now way recommend this firm.

Excellent service! Everything was handled by our Loan Officer, David Brink. He was extremely professional and thought of every detail. He explained everything very well and answered all of our questions. The process was virtually painless, and we were approved for our loan MUCH quicker and with less effort than we ever thought it would take. I would highly recommend him to others and will be using him again if needed!

Worst customer service experience! I spent all day on the phone with planet. The reps Kyle, Bill and Chris are nice but I got wrong information the first time I called. Second time I called the supervisor Chris gave me wrong information and brushed me off that my request will be processed and I shouldn't worry about it. After a whole day on the phone more than 10 calls we came to the conclusion with another supervisor Yessica that they could not reply to my simple request to get a letter. They would not transfer me to the manager Ivy. Wish they would have told me the correct information the first time. Looking forward to refinancing with another company! Wish I would have never refinanced with them to begin with. Waste of money and time. Highly recommend going with another company. I know I will. Plus the phone line is full of static in the call center. This company needs to get their act together!

Planet Home Lending and their sales personnel and contacts were of immense assistance in the refinance process we recently completed. Whenever we had any questions about requirements of the refinancing process, they were there to assist us every step of the way. We would not hesitate to recommend them for any mortgage needs you may have.

Working with Mr Shawn Patrick to re-finance our home was great! He easily guided us through the necessary steps and always responded quickly to emails and even phone calls! Not only that, we got a good rate too.

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY FOR YOUR MORTGAGE NEEDS. After contacting this place over 8 times on the phone and trying to resolve an issue with this company, you can notice the lack of communication between departments and the lack of knowledge for the customer. I eventually spoke with a Mr. John Mallaber and he did not empathized with my problem, it definitely shows in the rating trend that whoever is running this company lately has no clue what they are doing. AVOID THIS COMPANY!!!!!!

Planet Home Lending broker Tammy Conner worked diligently and enabled me to close a complicated transaction. Even when roadblocks were thrown up during the process, she figured out a way to get it done. I'd highly recommend to any of my friends and family. Oh, and the rate she was able to get was materially lower than the other broker I was considering.

This was my first time working with Kristin. She was responsive, transparent, had clear communication, and delivered on everything she promised. The process was smooth and easy, plus the rates were very competitive. I would highly recommend Kristin!

STAY FAR AWAY. My experience with the local Planet Home Lending office was great throughout my buying process, but that is where it ended. My experience with Planet Home Lending’s main office and customer support over the last two years of owning my home has been horrendous. I have never dealt with a company that continually hires incompetent people with a different answer for everything depending on the day and does not let you communicate with anyone in management. However, this is ultimately an issue that falls back on management or lack thereof since the employees can only do so much with the information that this company gives them to work with. My first issue was with my homestead exemption in 2021. When I filed, it took several different attempts within two months using the online uploading option that they require to get their software to accept the document so I could rightfully decrease my monthly mortgage payment. None of the emails I was instructed to send with a copy of the document were ever found despite following exact instructions over the phone for how and where to send it. This resulted in months of overpayment on my mortgage. Then there was the issue of property taxes. Planet Home Lending somehow conveniently paid my neighbor’s property taxes instead of mine with my escrow money and then left it to me to fix the situation that they created. Had I not noticed the plot numbers being incorrect when looking at the taxes paid on my account, who knows when that would have been caught and how long my property taxes would have been delinquent. That took several calls to the county tax assessor’s office and over a month of waiting to hear back from Planet about the issue being fixed. As a result of their issues getting my homestead exemption and my escrow money being tied up in my neighbor’s property taxes, I also had to wait to be issued a refund check for what I overpaid on my mortgage. Once the property tax situation was dealt with, it still took well over three months of constant email communication and at least one phone call every week during that period to get anything done. I was constantly told that nothing from the previous conversations was ever made note of on my file and nobody entered any information or filled out the forms required to send out the refund check, despite them going through the forms over the phone with me to submit them on their end every single time I called. The list goes on between loan life modification issues, insurance check issues, and more, and overall, I am completely disgusted with the lack of responsibility, accountability, compassion, and proper action on this company’s part in the last two years of dealing with them. Planet Home Lending is completely non-responsive and does not make note of anything or take any action unless it is regarding money that you owe them. I will be relieved to refinance through another company and have made it my life mission to ensure that none of my family or friends ever go through the headache of borrowing a home loan through this company. Please beware of their tactics and finance through someone else.

Every single time I have called with an issue the representatives tried to help but the way payments or any payoff statements are handled are simply mediocre. Whenever you send a payment, it is never properly recorded into your account it seems there is no understanding when you are trying to pay extra amount to your principle. The payoff statement process it the worst I have ever dealt with: 1. There are no option to get it online (like many other companies) 2. The information in their website is incorrect. 3. The instruction given by the representative is you have to send a sign paper asking for what you need and the turnaround time is three business day. 4. Even after following the directions it is not a guarantee you will get it. The company claimed it was sent two times and I never got it and now guess what I have to wait another business day because no one can get it expedited. It seem like the payoff department is a ghost since no one can contact them. They only go by an email. I would never use this company when given the choice. They are the worst company to deal with!!!!!!! They never sent anything on Friday as they claimed and I just got two emails and a fax. They are in the business of lying!!

Eddie is always punctual and has a very clear communication style. He answered all our questions and helped us navigate the process. I also appreciated how he tried to anticipate and avoid potential problems.

This has been the worst firm I've ever dealt with in my life. The cannot handle Escrow requirements AT ALL! First, my homeowners policy lapsed because of lack of timely payment on their behalf. Three hours worth of discussions, finally resolved. Next, I received $3000+ back from them in April due to an escrow OVERAGE. Nothing has changed with my insurance, nor taxes, whatsoever. Then in September, I receive a letter from them stating there is an escrow SHORTAGE of over $2000 that I need to pay. I send them 6 correspondences demanding an explanation and a call back. NO REPLY! Then is October, I receive an $846 check back from my homeowners insurance policy for an OVERPAYMENT on their behalf. I waited on hold 97 minutes yesterday trying to speak with a manager, only to then be disconnected without any call back. I've spent at least 13 hours on this topic thus far and dread all interaction with them. Beyond frustrated with this company. I am sure someone from their firm will post an email address to contact them which will be simply an empty hole, not a point of real contact. Your email route is useless, the phone system is a nightmare. No one has a full name, nor an extension to reach directly. Hiring an attorney to release the escrow back to me as they are completely inept.

UPDATE 5/22/2021 after I wrote the initial review below an SVP (Adam Spigelman) from the company did call me and tell me that yea, they hired a sub contractor to take over processing and underwriting and they were failing miserably. Straight shooter assured me that my loan would indeed be moved over to the in-house processing team and they would be able to move it along quickly. So here we sit, 15 days AFTER I spoke with him and I am still no closer to closing than I was 2 weeks ago. They in-house team keeps asking me for documents that have already been submitted or do not exist. Yesterday they asked me to sign a document saying that I do not own a home that I sold many years ago even though I have submitted the signed HUD document from when the sale happened. I stand by my earlier assessment of this company-- complete and total incompetence! (why do I persist?) two reasons, my super-low rate has been locked and now it's just a matter of principle. Existing customer submitted a loan application to refinance my mortgage 10/16/2020. Each time they asked for documents I sent them within 2 hrs. Nearly every week they tell me we should be able to close by the end of next week and then nothing; then they tell me next week, and next week and next week. Here we sit on May 7, 2021 (seven months later!) and my loan is STILL NOT CLOSED! This has nothing to do with LTV, credit scores, lack of supporting documents, etc. This only has to do with complete and total incompetence!

I can't say enough great things about the Planet Home Lending team. Nancy Garcia worked to finish our loan everyday until we closed. She stayed in communication with us and was always available. We got an incredible rate on our loan and the process was easy to understand. As first time home buyers we are so happy with our experience. We can't believe our dream has come true! My husband and I needed to refinance our home and had looked at several companies to work with. We finally decided on Planet Home Lending after our first experience with Nicholas Framarini. He understood that we were very nervous about engaging in the decision to refinance and was there for us every single step of the way. We both work full time and Nick made sure that we were able to complete all of the necessary steps online and by phone. He walked us through the process and checked in with us after every step was completed to see if we had any questions. Nick even checked back after our first payment to make sure we were still comfortable. We are older and so the online process was more difficult. Home buying is a tough, arduous process and in order for Paul and his company to achieve the best possible loan for you, you MUST be willing to supply him with all the information he needs!! I met Jerry Castrillo in 2017 when I was first in the market to buy a new home. It wasn't the right time but as I worked on the items he suggested, my buying power doubled and we were able to start the process to design and build our dream home.
