Placer Title Company Sierra College Dr, Grass Valley

We went here for an escrow. They were very friendly. First they told us the title looked great then after our officer went on vacation called me back told us that we needed to have some bonds. Understandable. After seemingly no movement for 2 weeks I called to inquire to the manger about what was taking so long. He took the case over. He is semi-retired and only works 3 days a week. After a total 5 weeks of the bond agency and them arguing back and forth a lot, and them not making forward progress we decided to move title companies. Overall a huuuuuge waste of time. I'm sure if you have a perfect sale they would be a great company but any turbulence and it sent them straight in to a tailspin.

Overall did everything a title company should. I personally had some issues here and there; balances not working out, mailing things when we had discussed picking up from them directly. But they were very gracious about it all.

Very nice and knowledgable group. The office is easy to miss tho. The buildings all look the same and it's not obvious where the correct driveway is.

They helped me, FOR FREE, when the Recorders Office couldn't figure out my property lines!

When I sold my home without an agent, having done so in other states, I went to Placer Title in Grass Valley & was specific to the woman who I saw there that the buyer had agreed (with a good old handshake & eye to eye contact) to pay all closing costs. Only weeks after closing did I have time to look at the paperwork which was signed quickly with short explanations. I saw that I had actually paid for half the closing costs & buyer's Insurance. This was a shock. Afterward, I visited the buyer since we had become familiar, with him freely using my garage & puttering around weeks before the exchange. He wrote a check to me for other costs but after confronting him about the closing error, he wrote on the check that it was for closing costs. I did not look at the check until returning home miles away. The Placer agent said on the phone earlier that it is usual for the costs to be split, although I had been very clear & repeated that the buyer was responsible for all when I first saw her. The buyer managed to not remember his word, although he is a very savvy business man who talks a lot about detailed financial exploits & cleverly screwed an Octogenarian on low income, with no qualms. Placer simply made a polite kissoff although they would not recognize that their agent messed up & since my sense of honor did not include the buyer's integrity. Beware to get everything on paper or fall into another trap & read all the small print. (Who does that?) Just sayin'.

They have been a big help in the purchase of my new home. Everyone has been friendly and professional.

We have used them 3 times and every time we have had an awesome experience!

Very helpful and moved right along because we had a time crunch.
