    Picatinny Federal Credit Union Reviews

Credit Union is lacking but I can deal with it for the financial perks. The Credit Card is the absolute worst! If you are late on a payment(yes, sometimes life happens) and you make your payment, they take the money out of your account , credit your card account, but you still cannot use your credit card for an entire week! How ridiculous is that, I actually made a payment of 75% of the total balance, not the minimum, but was still unable to use my credit card for an entire week. I called and guess what, this is the actual policy!?! What do they do with my money for an entire week? Don't waste you time, go to another bank.

Unprofessional and unethical. I had opened my account with picatinny about 2 months back with a very seemingly inexperienced Ms. Jessica Torres. She directed me as to what I needed And I opened my account. I was very satisfied for the time and was excited to move my funds from the big corporate banks to support the local credit union. That was until I received a call from Ms. Torres telling me that there was a problem with my account and they needed to close it. Mind you I had a good standing, plenty of money and I never overdrew. I had all my direct deposits as well as my bills coming out of this account including my IRS tax return which was set up to deposit there. So you can imagine how confused I was. I told her to wait I will be there in 20 minutes. Apparently Ms. Torres does not value her clients more than her lunch. She was conveniently gone by the time I arrived. I spoke to another Bank representative, presented my paperwork and was assured that this issue would be escalated internally before anything would happen. later that day I received a text from my banking app notifying me that my funds had been transferred ( over 900$!). I checked online to find my funds were transferred into my savings and my checking account was gone. I had to leave from work again for the second time that day to pull my money out. No one there had any idea what was going on and again the person who was representing my account was gone. I still have not received an explanation, a letter, an email, nor did I have ample time to even move all of my exchanges before my account was shut off. I have several checking accounts with other banks all in perfect standing. I feel Picatinny has treated me like i was some sort of cash criminal. I am very disappointed that the bank for Morris county has little regard for their clientele. Do yourself a favor don’t bank here! And if you must, don’t deal with Ms. Torres.. if she screws up she will not resolve it she will just screw your over to save her self. Sad sad sad.

Racial profiling.I am a paving contractor, I did a job for a customer who went to this bank to get money to pay me. Kathy the employee advised the customer not to pay me. I paved a 4.000 square feet driveway and didn’t get paid because of The employee Kathy. Unbelievable Response to owner : Fraudulent activity? Paving a driveway is considered fraudulent activity? I am a licensed contractor. The only fraudulent activity is your employee Kathy telling my customer that I worked for to cheat me and not pay me. My lawyer will be in contact.

    Response from the owner

Joe, We know this is not a genuine review as you never actually came into the credit union, and this is based on fraudulent activity. We respectfully ask you reconsider and remove your fabricated review as a retaliation for our Representative doing their job. Harassment of our members and employees will not be tolerated under any circumstances.

Deposited $27,000.00 bank check into my account. Was told it would clear in 10 days, I questioned why a bank check would take so long and the wait was changed to 2 days. Seven days later and still no money in my account. I was directed to Leslie who identified as the manager, now it's 7 days.....not available until 12/6. Leslie also informed me that he and Barbara are in charge of everything, no CEO....news for you Leslie Mr. ALBRECHT I is the acting CEO. Should also mention my sister closed two accounts last week due to incompetent staff.

I have had a number of inconveniences working with Picatinny over the year from an outdated and difficult mobile and web app to requiring me to be there in person for things like travel notifications. It is not a convenient bank and recently I faced trouble with fraudulent charges in my account. While they can help if your card gets skimmed, larger issues can be more difficult. They really do nit-pick their deadlines so if you're a day late there is no empathy. My claim got rejected and not only was I not notified. When I asked about the sudden charge on my account I was only told that I ordered the charge was ordered by me and that they "got no response" or they could not accept my claim. I was not told who did not respond nor was there any explanation given for why this would justify rejecting it. I also called and left a message for the person who handled my case, but did not receive a response. Even if the rejection was justified I did not feel like I was a person in this interaction at all. That being said, I can't give a one star rating because I really have only had wonderful experiences with the tellers at this location. They are always outstandingly helpful and even went to the trouble to learn my name and remember me despite me spending 80% of my time out of state.

I tried opening an account today. Got through the whole process but denied a debit card because I didnt have $5 in cash to deposit in a savings account I'll never use. I have my paycheck to deposit but that wasn't enough. Gotta have that $5 in cash or no debit card. The issue is a debit card is essential for my job being that I'm on the road all the time for work.

    Response from the owner

Hi Jessica. Thank you for visiting our Denville branch on Saturday. I apologize that you weren't able to open your account and receive a debit card. In order to be a member and receive all the benefits associated with membership, you are required to open a savings account with a minimum deposit of $5. The savings account is the starting point of your membership. If you would like to discuss this in more detail, please contact us at [email protected].
