Picasso Pawn NC, Durham

Had a wonderful experience at this pawn shop. Derek and Esther made my time here just an all around good time. They were very fair with me in pricing and also went above and beyond when I thought I lost an item in the store. Would recommend everyone to take their business to this location. If you want to get paid or just get an all around great deal, this is the place!

Derek was really nice and patient with me. He was helpful when I called in to check the estimate of my ps4. He took the time to walk me through the process, great customer experience.

Great experience. The staff was very friendly and courteous. Worked with Ted for over 45 minutes, he was very knowledgeable and professional in our transaction. Would definitely recommend this store, had a great variety of jewelry, electronics, music instruments and a large selection of construction tools.

I recently went to this location and I had an amazing experience. I have been to other pawn shops that were definitely not as nice and have felt pressured and haggled. The customer service I received from Derrick made me feel like I was actually walking away with an amazing deal. I will most definitely be going back! 5 stars!

Spent less than ten minutes in there between two visits. First visit I was handled with respect and patience by a team member. After getting a dinky SS necklace appraised, I asked this gentleman if they had a diamond tester because I was curious about a gifted micropave SS ring I had, and I was told bring it by. Again, this was for curiosity sake; not to sell. I come back 5 minutes later with said ring and the first gentleman I spoke with was busy. So after taking a look around for a few moments, I had the pleasure of listening to a flustered [presumably] owner, childishly berate one of his staff members for a simple blunder, repeating himself over and over. A different associate came by to help me out after that escapade, who I then asked to test the ring, also explaining that I didn't want to sell it. This guy brings it over to the huffy puffy, rude owner, who picks my ring up and immediately says 'it's probably not real, and not worth much', speculating while the individual he was berating moments before, stood behind the counter with a diamond tester in his hand. After a closer look through a monocle the huffy puffy and extra fluffy guy continues to speculate, finally saying 'they're real' by glancing at them, and then tells me to pay $10 just to have them press their tester against a few stones. GET REAL. I feel bad for the guys working there. I hope this Chubby loud mouth guy is just having a particularly bad day and ordinarily treats his staff/clients with more compassion and respect, because if this is the norm, how the heck is this place still in business? I'm just glad I quietly left instead of saying what was coming to mind. It's very telling about people, how they treat others when they stand to gain nothing. This Chubby owner or whatever acts like a clown. Can't say I'll ever do business with a Picasso pawn shop, especially considering these other reviews.

Love everyone here, excellent customer service and always willing to help even if your behind on payments. Recently went here and my past experiences in other pawn shops were horrible but this location is exceptional and amazing. Kind staff and and friendly environment. A huge shout out to Esther who helped me get rid of my things quick and easy. She’s was honest, humble, and super friendly.

Customer service is A1 here and they are always willing to assist in anyway possible and give you the most or save you the most… Esther and Derek always make you feel welcome…You can’t miss them.. she’s the tiny one 🥰 and he’s the tall chocolate one..😜

I honestly never have a good experience with this pawn shop. Customer service is terrible, they low ball you and honestly the energy in general is just extremely off putting. They always look at you as if it’s an inconvenience for them to help you. I’m not a fan.

Esther looked me dead in my face when i walked in and stood around for 5 minutes not doing anything before she asked me if i needed help. She ain’t even greet me and she was the only person who wasn’t helping anyone at the time. I was gonna walk out and go to the other one by Durham chapel hill blvd Because i know for a fact they’re nicer. Thought I’d try this one Bc it was closest where i was. NEVER AGAAAAAIN

I went to Picasso pawn shop in Durham store 9. I had several items that I was looking to sell. Esther and Angel was of great assistance. They where very respectful and polite. I bought a guitar from here for a really great price. I also got rid of some earrings I didn’t care about for some cash. The customer service was great. I would definitely recommend and go again.

In the past year of covid. It has been extremely hard on my wife and i. I brought my ps4 in the 1st of many times lol and i met Derrick. He was super understanding to our situation and gave us a solid deal. Over time we also befriended Carlos. Another guy that just gets customer service and how to take care of people. The staff as a whole is amazing. This store has come so far from what it once was. Great job!!

First of all let me say I love pawn shops. I love thrift stores. I love any place I can get a great deal new or this particular Picasso Pawn is no different. The people that work here are truly awesome. They give you great service, they give you a friendly warm environment, and the best part of all if they give you a great deal. Ive purchased camera equipment here, electronics, and anything else that I find a value for that I just like. What more can I am very happy with the overall service that I receive. I'll continue to come back as long as I keep up the great work. And I do not see that going down anytime soon. Thank you guys.

Picasso pawn in Durham on Highway 55 has the best prices and coolest staff around. Due to COVID-19/being out of work for some time, and a newborn, money has been tight this year. The staff is extremely friendly and take care of their customers. Unfortunately, I haven’t had the opportunity to learn everyone’s name but I did wanna recognize the guys that have helped me in the past year. Derek and George big thanks for all the speedy service that you guys have provided me with this year. It’s been unbelievably fast service compared to the competitors that I used in the past. Picasso pawn on Highway 55 in Durham is the only store I want to give my business. Thanks Again guys.

I was in the store recently this shop on Hwy 55 in Durham and spoke with Derek McGil. He was really nice and helpful, excellent customer service and answered all my questions about the item I was looking at with ease. Awesome experience overall and I would go back and ask for him personally based on that experience.

I went in because I saw their post about the ps5 console they had. The man I asked about the price first wouldn't even tell me the price and instead just gave me layaway options. He then proceeded to talk down to me about how their is a chip shortage and "they aren't making anymore until 2022" which is a lie. There is a chip shortage but they are still making the consoles. They are charging 1,075 for a USED ps5. You can buy a new one off of someone on Facebook for 800 😐
