OnPoint Community Credit Union Reviews

On my first visit, I had explained to the banker that I was looking to move all of my banking accounts to a new bank because of dissatisfaction with the customer service of my previous bank. I was told that a couple of my new accounts would require me to speak to another banker, so I opened the ones I could and setup and appointment for the following Saturday. When the appointment day arrived, I went into the location and told them about my appointment. I was immediately brought to the banker, who claimed that the only appointment she had was for someone else. I explained that my appointment had been set a week ago, but she insisted that I had no appointment on the schedule. She was extremely rude and short with me, especially considering that I had just moved my accounts from a bank with poor customer service. I promptly closed my remaining accounts with Onpoint and will NOT be doing business with them again. Add them to a growing list of banks that are not the least bit interested in providing any kind of security or customer service.
Nick, Thanks for sharing your feedback. We always strive to provide an excellent member experience and we're sorry that we missed the mark. Please let us know if we can do anything else for you. This is not a typical experience and we hope that you consider OnPoint again in the future. Sincerely, -OnPoint

This branch needs more staff. Today I stood in line for over 20 minutes just to make a deposit. All the staff were with someone, but it still shouldn't take this long. I frequent this branch at least once a week and it's always the same thing. Long wait times and the workers look frazzled. Half the offices are empty with no one there. ATM never works properly. Why not hire more people? Service is good once you can see someone but so slow I'm considering driving to a different branch that is farther away but will be faster. Wait time is always 15 minutes or longer every time I come in.
Susan, Thanks for sharing your concerns. Rest assured that we're actively hiring across the credit union. Thanks for your patience, please let us know if you would like to connect with our team on how best to use digital banking to save time at the branch, or how we can help you with anything else. Sincerely, -OnPoint

I went in for two reasons, to make a deposit and to get my will notarized. While the deposit went fine, I was told by the notary that she couldn't notarize my will because I needed two witnesses. The will stated that they didn't have to know me, so I assumed that an employee or two could be a witness. I was told no because they didn't know me. While I was unhappy that my credit union where I bank couldn't notarize my will, Jasmine was really kind and helpful about it. She looked up some places that could do it for me, wrote down addresses and even made a phone call to a place near my home. Great customer service, Jasmine!
Laura, Thanks for understanding and we apologize that we were unable to provide the notary service. We're happy to hear that Jasmine was able to point you in the right direction. Sincerely, -OnPoint

I called before closing and my call was not answered. The just shut down and did not give me an opportunity to speak with an employee. Also, I went into the bank because I made a mistake at the cash machine and did not want my checking to be overdrawn. I went in, ONE employee, finished with the customers transaction and you could hear the conversation. Not about banking, it was a personal conversation. That employee looked at me and I am sure she could tell by my body language I had an issue. All the while 2 other employees just looked at me and looked away. No one would offer to help. I then loudly said *can I PLEASE get some help. We are looking for another bank. CAN YOU GIVE LESS THAN ONE STAR?
Cheryl, Thank you for sharing your concerns. We understand your frustration. Often our team is working on member requests on their computers and completing documentation between helping members. This credit union is very nice. My husband has an account here and we just paid off our loan in full the other day. They were exceptional to work with. They have a "getter done" attitude

This is the third I have come in to check my accounts recently and have had to leave after waiting too long. After standing in line I knocked on a mangers door and was told someone would be with me soon. I waited in line over 15 minutes. None of the staff were available to help tgose of us standing in line. 2 people sitting at desks in lobby both working with customers, only ONE teller working the front while there's a line. Both doors to the management offices shut. Another person on the other side of bank with her door shut as well. Left after waiting too long and went to use ATM, ATM said not accepting cash to make deposit. Never have this problem at my other branch. Won't return a forth time.
Leslie, Thanks for sharing your concerns. We understand how it may be frustrating when some employees are not helping the Teller row. Please know that all of our employees are diligently working on helping members - this includes tasks that require them to be at their desks. We apologize for the inconvenience. Sincerely, -OnPoint

There are many different reasons to value a bank or credit union. For me it starts with great customer service weather it's over the phone or in person at the branch. OnPoint Mill Plain branch shines very bright in that category! Aside from customer service, OnPoint as a credit union is there to serve it's members, not shareholders, like traditional banks. OnPoint offers very competitive rates on auto financing, credit building programs for young people without a credit history to obtain their first credit card and build credit. And many other services designed to help their customers without feeing them to death like the giant monster megabanks. Every experience that I have had with them has been exceptional from a customer service standpoint. As long as they continue to shine they will continue to get my business. in my 52 years I have had many relationships with various financial institutions and I never thought that I would leave USAA, but OnPoint has won me over. I wish I got the teller's name that patiently helped at the counter on 4/20/2021. The transaction took nearly an hour and a half because my other bank (which no longer has my business) could not do something as simple as letting me withdraw my own money through a debit card cash advance. The teller who helped me at OnPoint was very courteous, friendly and helpful throughout the entire hour and a half that I fought on the phone with my old bank. Whoever you were, thank you!!! You now have a new customer.
Robert, Thanks for taking the time to share your experience! Welcome to the OnPoint family. We'll share your story with our team and ensure that they know you appreciate their efforts. Please let us know if we can help you with anything else. Best, -OnPoint

Well staffed, with professional, kind, friendly, well trained, and competent staff. 1000% better, in terms of customers service, than, say, Wells Fargo, Bank of America, Chase, or any other similar monstrosity that, honestly, is against nature, and exists only thanks to friends in Congress. Incidentally, when I check safety ratings (although I admit that it has been a while), I also find that OnPoint is about the best that one can do in Oregon or Washington. The people at this branch are lovely and do a fantastic job.
Joshua, Thanks for taking the time to leave us your review! We appreciate all of your kind words about our staff, it means a lot to us! Sincerely, -OnPoint

If you want poor customer service and lying branch managers and insane hold time to speak to someone, this is your place. Faulty safeguards of your funds from scamming! Lol now they want me to DM them after I closed my accounts and they were begging me not to close my accounts. Even one of their employees said she works for on point and had to close her personal onpoint accounts because of fraud going on with her own account. She told me she won't be working for them much longer. That's so reassuring!!!!
Grant, Thanks for sharing your concerns. If you still need assistance, please send us a direct message and we can have our team contact you directly. We apologize for any extended hold times that you may have experienced and we understand your concern with vulnerability to fraud and scams. Our team works diligently to help resolve member concerns as efficiently as possible and we apologize the inconvenience. Additionally, we take great measures to ensure that our members have convenient and secure access to their accounts. Good people.... bad systems. I’m giving this company 5* for being smart enough to have Daylon in customer service. Whatever they are paying Daylon is not enough. They need people like Daylon because their on line app is a mess. It took four calls to figure out that you can’t really directly link an outside account to make a car payment. It seems that only one person in the Company knew that. I have no beef with On Point as a whole....but Man. That website needs some work. My suggestion: Put Daylon on it!!!
Jonathan, We're happy to hear that Daylon was able to help. Thanks for your patience in working with our team. We have provided your feedback to our Digital Banking team - please let us know if you need help with anything else. Best, -OnPoint
