BAIT AND SWITCH! Applied and was pre-qualified for 16.99% 12k unsecured loan. Selected the loan on their website and submitted documents. Received call next day stating that after credit report review my rate jumped to 30%. I have an average score of 615-630 and 2 derogatory accounts from 5 years ago other than that clean credit report with highest debt being a student loan in excellent standing and have very few inquiries on my credit reports as well as low balances and utilization. I feel like this is classic bait and switch, I should have went to a credit union...Do not get loans from here, upstart, or lending tree it's all a scam; predatory lending making you think you'll get the loan at a rate you can afford and then switching it to a rate you can not afford. With rates at 30% you diminish the borrower's abilities to repay the loan and it becomes strictly beneficial to the lender. Also be mindful of mile-long fine print during pre-qualification usually hiding at bottom of page or hidden in various links.

I was on the phone with Jessie for 15 minutes on Thursday and she said I was approved for up to $6,000 unsecured. I specifically asked if I needed a co-signer and she said “no”. I told her I would be there first thing Friday morning since I had to be at work by 9:30. She told me she would not be there, but she’d gladly have someone help me. I drove 30 minutes into town and got there at 8:30 only for Travis to tell me I did, in fact, need a co-signer. Jessie was aware of my income and ALL other information when I spoke with her previously. She knew then that getting the loan without a co-signer would not be possible and yet still insisted that I was good to go. Biggest waste of my time. I should have learned my lesson when I paid off my previous loan to never go back.

Used to be a great company and helpful. Customer service has decreased immensely. Called relative to getting additional loan and they advised me a cost and then calls back the next day and states that it is going to be a much higher cost. Then when I called to get the pay off I was told one price and called back the very next day and the cost had gone up $100 dollars. I have been lied to and mislead on several levels within the past 6 months. Wish the company was like it used to be. I don't believe I will work with them anymore. Very sad

My family have dealt with One Main in another locality and have had a wonderful experience. I do not know what it is about Winchester VA and minorities. A family member applied online and had been speaking with Rhonda, who was very nice via phone. All requested documentation was provided within mins after request. The family member came in as the phone kept going to voice mail and the text had stated to call. When the family member arrived, it took a moment and finally Jessica asked what was needed yet she just came across Cold. It just appears that the branch is giving a run around. Disappointed

Absolutely terrible experience, this was my first time applying for a loan and I would strongly recommend going elsewhere. They seem nice and friendly, but as soon as you get there its just a long run around, I was trying to be careful and read everything carefully when I signed up but the lady (whom shall not be named out of generosity on my side) sat there telling me it wasn't important to read this or that, and that doesn't apply to you, etc. Ended up taking a loan because I was already at the end of the computer process and thought I "needed" it. In the end I was pressed into it by a "nice" associate, because I'm young and don't know what im doing. Then I had to sign a sheet saying I wasn't pressured into it. While being pressured into signing that sheet. Will never be back. Will never recommend. If you need a loan go anywhere else. Although, the lady who helped me cancel my loan today was also friendly, idk mightve been trying to get me not to cancel it 😅

Travis and Rhonda were very helpful on the phone each time when speaking with them. Very pleasant and knowledgeable. Took the time to answer all my questions and explained in detail without hesitation. Rhonda was exceptionally helpful when I went in to sign my paperwork. Thank you both for making this a very easy and stress free process.
