Josh is a very pleasant person to talk with. He is cheery, and optimistic. With all of the great reviews, I can believe that he and his team successfully close many loans and leave some clients happy. But for self-employed people, or loans that are not traditional, I don't think his team is set up well to handle them. Relying on a team, when problem after problem came up, it never seemed like Josh took personal accountability to make sure the problems were worked through. It was often just passed off. We ended up needing 4 closing date extensions, and it took them 3 months to close the loan. I had to send over paperwork multiple times to them, the final closing documents were incorrect, they sent my final overpayment check to the wrong address, and when my first mortgage payment was due, they processed the wrong paperwork. The payment ended up being $700 higher than it should have been. Being in the real estate industry myself, I have worked with a number of mortgage brokers. The problem wasn't that there were problems. I expect that sometimes. The problem is when challenge after challenge arises like this, you hope for more personal accountability from the person you hire. My loan took a lot longer than most, and I think Josh got burned out. The best part about this process is, of course, that it eventually closed, and we got our house. For that I'm grateful.

I've utilized Josh's team twice for mortgages in the last 5 years and have been happy both times with the experience. He provides timely responses, his team is great with consistent communication (I saw a significant increase in communication frequency vs. my last mortgage which was nice for staying up-to-date on the latest status of the transaction) and he goes through the effort to walk through the process with you as needed to answer your questions or concerns. I appreciated that his team was willing and able to process a VA loan and were clearly fluent in the process and paperwork requirements. I liked that he was willing to have a conversation around how to use our mortgage plan as a way to manage competitiveness of our offer and help us customize our mortgage solution to set us up for success with our sale. His team clearly takes pride in what they do and the services they provide.
