We just closed on a very, very difficult VA loan. The VA loan was not the issue. The issue was the seller, surprisingly. The NRL Mortgage Team, led by Cody Reid, actually had everything ready to go in about 18 days! They guided us through the process and remotely "held my hands"! They were extraordinarily professional every step of the way. Cody does not get rattled easily and his calming nature and the abilities and professionalism of his team helped us through this home loan. We recommend them 100%. The team at NRL was very helpful and organized throughout the whole loan process. I had questions several times and when I contacted them I got clear answers very quickly. As a first time homebuyer and single buyer, the process of starting to buy a home was overwhelming because of past stories from friends and family. As a person who likes to do as much research before speaking with an expert in a certain field, so that I have a baseline understanding to comfortable speak with this professional and ask the right questions. As everyone suggests it is a good starting point to figure out how much you can buy by shopping around with lenders as minimal as three lenders. I went ahead and put two applications with my current banks. During my research, I came across NRL. The person I first came in contact with was Michelle. I called her that same day and she answered. She was very helpful and honest with me during our conversation. It was so easy to speak with her and she had no issue with all the questions I had. After speaking with her briefly, she provided the info I needed to start my application with NRL. That is when she looped in Cody and his team. At the same time, I was still in the process of submitting applications with my current banks. Despite being a long standing customer with these banks; at the end of the day I decided to go with NRL. The customer service and professionalism was unmatched especially during COVID. To top it off, Cody and team were very responsive, professional and experienced which I greatly value. During the whole process, I did not ever feel in the dark or the need to initiate contact to check the status of my loan application. My overall experience with NRL was pleasant and positive. I had a great experience at NRL Mortgage. They were very communicative and made the process of buying my first home as easy as possible. One thing I really appreciated was that Cody told me on our first phone call to not be afraid to ask for things to be explained multiple times, because he knew how overwhelming everything can be during your first time going through the process.
