This National Pawn & Jewelry is the best location in the Triangle (Raleigh-Durham-Chapel-Hill). The customer service is hands down the best of any pawn shop in Durham. Please see Tommy and Stephanie for all of your layaway and pawn needs. They make you feel comfortable and at home.

I had not been to this store in a while. However, I am glad I went in yesterday. The selection was great. The customer service was great. I saw that Darrell had advertised on OfferUp a computer I was interested in. They were busy when I got there so I had to wait a little bit but when I got to check out the computer and decided I wanted to buy it the process went very smoothly. They offer a great return policy and worked with my budget. Overall a great experience!!

I went into National Pawn on 11/13 for a simple transaction and I couldnt ask for a better team of people. Everyone there was light hearted and free and answered all of my questions. If you go in ask for LINCOLN, Carlos or Ana they will take care of you and get you the most money for your items and also give you advice on how to restore an item to mint condition.

Everyone acts just knowledgeable enough for to buy. After 3 days your purchase is void from cash refund. 5 star reviews are fake. Stephanie attempted to forced me to leave a review before I left the store. I can only imagine how many other people the store as a whole as pressured into leaving fake reviews.

I stopped by this location on the way back home from family vacation and found the perfect gold rope bracelet. We were greeted by staff as soon as we entered the establishment which is a huge plus for me. A very pleasant young lady( I’m sorry I didn’t catch her name) assisted me in finding my bracelet, while another employee Shorty greatly assisted my girlfriend in finding a nice camera. I've gone to other pawn shops in the Durham area and never experienced the great service I have at this location. I was recently in a very tight squeeze and needed to sell a few things, I was very apprehensive about going to a pawn shop, however I took a chance. I am very glad that i did. Darrell assisted me, and didn't treat me like a customer. He treated me as a friend and still remained completely professional while doing so. He truly needs to be cloned and scattered to the other locations!!!

I frequent professional sales locations and I must say I'm most impressed with the atmosphere I found there. Kimmie Rae was more than hospital when I asked about the item that interest me. It was on a Sunday morning but she responded anyway, making me feel welcome to come visit their plavce of business. I woke early Monday at 07am to assures her I was coming to find her responses were so orginal and caring. When I got there Kimmie opened the door at 9am as if she was waiting for family. I in my carelessness forgot my mask, and I was asked politely by the manager to get one. I rigged one up that would suffice and make every one feel safe. In the mist of Covid19 we must be careful and caring. Kimmie not only helped with the item I wanted but offered me other options as well. To my amazement they all loved to talk and made me feel welcome. Kim just didn't rush me out the door but showed me other stuff shw and I thought I needed.So I think she is there for more than tstore and sale people things. She'original people and a great business woman. She's there to be supportive. I'm sure as all of her colleagues were smiling and hospital they were troubled as we all are. I'm sure Kim is a consulting, consulting, comforting soul them all. She added a mother's love to my visit and I'm old. Just go visit and trust you'll be received well. They want you to bring stuff so they can buy as well as them selling to you. If you observe life , it will explain love and compassion to you just by listening and allowing people to be people. My 11 year old daughter bought a MacBook Air from Brenda. We were told she would have three days to return it. When she left and loaded up the Macbook, she saw that it hadn't been factory reset and still had all of the previous owner's info and content on it. We followed Apple's directions to factory reset the computer the way that it should have been before it was even sold. After doing what should have been done to begin with, the computer no longer worked, and my daughter would have had to pay another 60 dollars to update the software for it to become functional. Since we were still in the three day timeframe, my daughter went back to return the computer, since it was not sold in the proper condition to her to begin with, and was told she couldn't return it because it wasn't on the original screen. Now my 11 year old is out 300 dollars of her own money that she has saved over the last two years, because she trusted this store and the person who sold it to her. How any shop sells a computer without first ensuring that the previous owner's content was gone is just beyond belief. My daughter's savings are gone and she is absolutely heartbroken. We will never shop at this store or any other National Pawn again.

I went to 5 local pawn shops today looking around for a deal and this was the best one by far. Stacey and Eddie were very helpful and ultimately helped me find what I was looking for. This was also the only shop to offer fair and reasonable prices. I recommend going here anytime!

I bought an xbox 1 from them that had so much dust it wouldn't function sometimes until eventually it stopped working after just a few short months. I took it to ubreakifix and they said it needed the most intensive cleaning they had which was $80 plus tax and that was after I pulled out a handful size of dust and pet dander from inside the console already! They keep their consoles wrapped up so u cant inspect them for a reason! Bc u never know what ur buying and thats how its gonna stay! Nabia was very helpful. I came in looking to sell a device for the need of some extra Christmas money. He was very attentive to my needs and it was a very smooth process. I had a terrible experience with this store. After thinking on it a couple of days im still not feeling good about what i experience at this store. A lady name Melissa not only treated me unfairly but judge me and profiled me! She told me that the manager watched me on camera and said that HE felt that the item wasn't mines. I am not a thief and that's what they made me feel like. Didn't check my record with them or anything! I've never went through this before and never will because i will not be back! Took it to Picasso pawn on Holloway St. They gave me more than what i needed and treated me very well.

I've always had a wonderful time working with the staff at this National Pawn. Everyone is very friendly and fair. At least when I've worked with them in the past, they will call to remind you when it's time to pay for whatever you've pawned, something I know for a fact the other National Pawns do not do. 20 plus yrs of going to this store , always had a positive experience but about 7 months ago I put something on layaway and they sold it to someone else while I had it on layaway currently unhappy about the situation spoke to Tom the district manager and yet to hear back in regards to the issue he last said he would reach out to Bob the owner and still have not heard back ,the last manager also offered me a discount on the necklace I wanted but sadly he was fired and now I'm stuck dealing with sidney the new manager and he won't up hold what the last manager had promised me until he heard back from Tom , I've already spoke to the owner myself but they still will not comply or work with me on the issue , Lincoln and bill at the friendly pawn have always been helpful and never given me a issue - Edward Wilson

I bought 2 Xbox ones and a tv I have one of the xboxs and tv to my brother. My Xbox one had more than a fist size of dust and dead bugs and pet dander in it. I took it apart cleaned it out it started up again. Two days later it’s not turning on again which was the reason I cleaned it in the first place. It came with a faulty power brick that I had to mess with because the first two months the Xbox had days it wouldn’t power on and me messing with the power brick fixed it but now the Xbox is just dead and I have to go get it fixed. Very unhappy because nothing can be done and it’s not even worth calling because it’s been 3 months. Now I gotta invest probably $100 or more to get it fixed or just wait for the new Xbox that will come out in half a year even tho I spent $100 on games. Just a bad situation. But honestly I don’t even think they inspect their electronics for damage only that they function enough for them to pawn it off on an unsuspecting buyer. What’re u gonna do well I know I’m not coming back here again and funny thing is I was going to go back there for games last week but there’s no point now is there. Customer service was good tho but I got sold a busted xbox. From crashes that only happened once a month that lasted a day each to it now being completely unusable and requiring servicing it was honestly a bad investment from buying the product to investing in the products services like I bought months of Xbox live in advance so now I’m forced to fix my xbox so here’s my $100 complaint ooo it feels great well worth fixing my Xbox to be able to come on here and complain that I took apart my Xbox and cleaned out a ton of filth if I would’ve taken pics u would’ve been disgusted and I probably could’ve returned it but I didn’t get a receipt and I didn’t take pics. I will in the future to avoid possible scams like this.

On Monday morning I meet with Dulcy and she had a very pleasant attitude especially for a Monday and it was early. Her energy was one that I feel I will think of throughout my day.

Having never pawned anything before, I wasn't sure what to expect, but the employees were fantastic to work with. They really examined the ring and made sure they knew its history. They knew more about it than we did for sure! If you're looking to either buy or sell a diamond ring, come here because they have the knowledge about the materials and the market.

Ms. Ivelisse is the best. Go see her, you'll be glad you did. She's patient, friendly and was completely willing to work within my budget. I will be back but only when she is there! Update: I'm still very pleased with my purchases but want to give future buyers a heads up: All Transactions Are Final! Even if you don't leave the property, it's a done deal. I noticed some stones were loose in a ring I had purchased not 5 mins before and could not return it for a refund. This fact is printed on their receipt but I've never bought something then discovered it was damaged and not had the store refund my money. Made me feel slightly tricked. To be fair, they will give you store credit for the amount if returned within 3 days of purchase. Even with that unfortunate return policy, I loved Ivelisse, she is wonderful. As long as she works there, I will overlook their return policy. Moment she's gone, I will be too. UPDATE: Visited same location today. There is indeed a return policy. Customers have 3 days to return their purchase for a full refund. Still stand by my go see Ms Ivelissa, she is the best. She really looks out for people. Today she noticed a loose stone on a ring I purchased and sent it in to be repaired at no cost to me. I didnt notice it, so glad she did. If ever you visit this store and Ms Ivelissa isn't there, ask for Ms Patricia, she is good people too.
