After being worked over by a local bank who botched one of our IRA roll-overs, Karen Alvarez at the Ammon branch of MACU is highly competent, friendly, and efficient. It was very late in the day and I need to get some cash out. I drove up and started to send my information, but I was a little to far away. So I opened my door so I could reach the cylinder and a cup fell out and my dog wanted to go out. I finally got the device, put my information in and sent it back. I looked up and the nicest young woman was watching all the chaos. She helped me through my withdrawals, never mentioned any problems. It was terrific!!

The people were nice and friendly and the atmosphere was pleasant and different then my old Credit Union. I love the layout of the Credit Union also.

Absolutely the worst Credit Union I've ever dealt with. There is always excessive wait times to talk to an actual person. On average, it takes about 20 minutes on hold, an additional 20 minutes to resolve a problem. This place is a basically a broker who passes off many tasks to a "third party". We recently refinanced our home here. We figured that would be best considering because they are a local credit union and we bank with them. Boy were we wrong. They have main offices in both UTAH and TEXAS! The whole point in dealing with a credit union is to get better service, rates, and spend money locally. They have one person handling the mortgage loan applications. So getting a call back from that person takes 2-3 days on average. That person is so overwhelmed with work, they often don't recall the conversation they had with you previously, or even fully understand why they are calling you. Once our loan was processed and papers signed at the title company, they then sold our loan to another Mortgage Company before we had even made our first payment. Then that mortgage company sold our mortgage again! We still haven't made our first payment. That was confusing enough trying to figure who we're supposed to make out first payment to. Another specific issue was calling to check on the status of a bill pay setup online. We sent a payment to a medical company, that payment was sent on the 8th of FEB and was supposed to be received on the 12 of FEB. Imagine our surprise when we got a collections notice in the mail from the medical company dated the 14th of FEB! We called the company and they stated they had in fact not received payment. We called MACU. They could not provide the check number issued for payment to provide to the medical company. The MACU rep stated they did not have that information as the payment is issued through a "third party!" What the hell? You're sending my money out via a "third party" and you can't even tell me what the check number issued was to track it? Are you kidding me? We then cancelled the payment through MACU as we paid the medical company directly because nobody knows where in the hell the check is! Well guess what, that's a $20 charge to cancel the payment! They stated the could issue a refund on that charge but, we'd have to call back in 2 days to 2 weeks to get the refund issued once everything is cancelled. This Credit Union is a joke!

The facility is a 10! The staff was friendly and present. I went in for a new debit card and was out of there in 10 minutes. This CU overall is wonderful. We have had savings, mortgage, car loan, credit card, and never had a complaint. They are good local and in HQ. Thanks for a good regional CU.
