His team works around the clock to make sure that the process moves quickly, and I can't tell you how much I appreciated their ability to keep the process moving as quickly, thoroughly, and easily as possible. Would not recommend Steve Furlong to anyone, especially a first time home buyer. Communication was horrible between him and his “team”. Multiple red flags right away with this lender, that I overlooked not knowing any better. I was initially denied and then when I called him out about the reason for denial that he listed, suddenly upon further review I’m approved!! He obviously was overworked and didn’t pay attention to the details of my application. He never took anytime to explain the process of my loan, and just assumed I should know all about the different aspects and terms he was using. Then when we hit a bump in closing, he decided to be a complete a-hole and unprofessional! So, I blew up my own closing and went to another lender. In doing so, I saved myself on interest rate and money up front as well, since this company charges tons of extra fees!! First time buyers beware!!!!

Steve and his team made my first home buying experience a breeze. He helped with every step of the process and was very knowledgeable when it came to questions. He was also very understanding and patient as we worked through the process. I never felt like I was in over my head and knew I could contact him with any concerns I had. I learned very fast that you should always pick a local lender. The communication was excellent, the process was quick and smooth, and he answered all my questions (I had a lot!). Steve is very knowledgeable as a mortgage lender and adept at finding and providing a variety of details regarding potential property purchases. His assistant, Bao, is very pleasant to work with as well as being thorough in her approach to her role - an excellent resource.

Steve was superior to other lenders we’ve talked to in resources, communication, and time. When another lender we talked to said we wouldn’t be able to close the type of loan we requested Steve called us 5 minutes after looking and said APPROVED. He had the experience and knew where to go with our loan terms to get us exactly what we were looking for! We appreciated having Steve to explain in as little or as much detail as we wanted for each process of our loan. He also communicated via phone call and email as needed appropriately when he needed to provide more information or send numbers to view in detail. He did a lot of leg work in the background making our offers stronger in a crazy and sometimes defeating market, he knows what he’s doing and gives some great advice and keeps your loan scheduled for an on-time close. The Furlong team is definitely one to have in your corner in any housing market as a first time homebuyer or an experienced one!
