Michigan First Credit Union Gratiot Ave, Eastpointe

I applied for a loan they requested more information and I did not hear from them for three weeks. When I called them they told me that my loan had been denied and somebody should’ve called me weeks ago. I do not recommend them for anything especially if you wish to have a business account. The main thing a business looks for is checks to be cleared quickly so overhead costs can be paid. I deposited a check into the ATM the machine told me half of my money would be available in five days. Now it has been changed to 10 days with no excuse besides we made a mistake.

My family member tried to get a loan through this location. Instead of being told, "I'm sorry you're not able to get a loan at this time. Here are some suggestions or resources for you so you can work on your credit.... etc." No, he's asked "what do you think?", several times and treated poorly. How about MI 1st Credit Union, you learn how to address those less fortunate than you? I have a few select words but will contain myself. Shame on you.

I love this credit union they give the up most respect and very helpful with concerns. Clean and spacious

The lady warring the shirt that was blue red and white with yellow in it first of all that shirt was very tacky. Secondly she tried to embarrass me by stating repetitiously that I owe the bank money I had already talked out a payment arrangement with them over the phone I had a check that they sent to me once they closed my business account out. And she kept stating out loud that they could take that check and put it towards the payment-other than that they couldn’t cash it. Now out of spite I could’ve walked out and opened up a different bank account with a different bank and deposit that check in there but I decided to put the check towards the remaining balance. After I pay the balance off I will be taking my Business elsewhere!

Just saying I'M looking for a new credit union. Not pleased.

Michigan First has become Michigan WORST. I sold my car, and the buyer brought a certified check from a very popular bank. They held it TEN business days!! When I complained they said “it could be a stolen check” gtfoh. What ever happened to CALLING the other bank to verify the certified check is real?? When I mentioned that it was met with a duh duh uh uhhh.. it dumbfounded them. Calling the 365 un-alive call center is probably a peg or two below what I imagine purgatory to be like. RUN RUN RUN away from this place, it’s a credit union in name only - they treat you WORSE than a big bank. Go to a smaller, more personable credit union. Trust me, read the the other reviews.

Went to close out my account and had the rudest teller named Ashley. She was so unprofessional and rude! She didn’t know what she was talking about and charged me fees that she couldn’t explain. I will NEVER bank with Michigan First again and wouldn’t recommend this credit union to my worse enemy!

Hands down the worst bank I have ever dealt with. Will be switching right after the new year. The use a points system to allow for things like getting rid of overdraft fees. Spent over an hour waiting to speak to someone about 3 overdraft fees that occurred in the matter of an hour. I used my points for one and they said they were going to waive the other. Got home and guess what... they "had a system malfunction." and did not end up waiving the second. So yet another hour wasted on online chat to get that resolved. They have no grace periods, some of the lowest interest rates on savings I have ever had and fees for absolutely everything.

Told me i couldn't order checks in branch. Turns out i could. Terrible customer service on phone calls. Long wait times for someone to discuss you and tell you the wrong info. Wait times are underquoted and when you get transferred to a manager they will gaslight as if you wouldn't be upset for getting the wrong info and your card being blocked. Nina is the "manager" i spoke with and she said she didn't have an agent or representative number. I'm sure she doesn't. Terrible! Been wanting to leave this institution for so many years as so many problems have surfaced but this just may have lit the fire under me to take my money and business elsewhere!!!

The wait for the outside ATM is Ridiculous. I should not have to wait an hour to use the atm. Then when I'm done with my transaction, I'm stuck behind the driver in front of me. This doesn't seem safe at all. I'll be leaving this credit union. Horrible experience!
