Members 1st Federal Credit Union Reviews

Great location but alot falls through the cracks. Was told my credit card was approved but over 4 weeks later found out that I would not be receiving a card because by the time my application was processed my drivers license would have been expired but not a word from the staff that I needed to bring in new license. Also it is stupid because they had a second piece of Id from me. It is not a coincidence noticed a trend in how they treat certain customers v. others. It’s just black or white.

Your branch really needs to fix, or replace your ATM machine. Every time I want to deposit money in the morning on the way to work, it always experiences an error and spits my money back out and proceeds to tell me it is out of order right after. I go to this bank specifically because it is conveniently near where I work. I don’t normally have the time to run to the branch near the Weis.

I walk into Simpson Ferry branch to Pay on my mother's credit card.Any Bank asks FIRST have you ever had an account here with us before,They did not ask meThey did not ask me that, They tell me,I owe them $200 and 31.50, And my cash advance of 180.00 Goes through the system without hitch, Then they tell me They're not giving me the moneyAnd it'll take days to receive my money back. Any Bank asks you, Have you ever had an account here first.then tells you not doing Cash Advance. HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE.

I have been a member with members 1st for 2 yrs. They won't even think bout giving me a loan to help build my credit. And when I asked to have a check stop. They neglected to see if it went through before charging me with a stop check fee. Total bull.

Lobby service is fine, but this is at least the second time this year I couldn’t deposit money at the ATM. Tonight there were cones blocking off the lane and a sign up saying the ATM was out of service. Back in April, it couldn’t accept cash deposits. Ridiculous!

I called about getting a new credit/debit card Monday May 3rd and they told me they would send one out... it is now Wednesday May 12th and I still do not have it. I called Saturday May 8th about where it was since all of my subscriptions/reoccurring payments are tied to that and I was told overnighting me a card was too expensive and that it wouldn't be here until May 12th anyways as well as just using my other credit card to 1 time pay multiple subscriptions/utilities... I am unsure if they understand what "overnighting" means since that is 3+ business days. You would think for being a loyal member for 20+ years they would take care of their members but obviously not... 0/10 looking for a new bank, wish I could give less than 1 star for this service. P.S. this is the 2nd time this has happened within 6 months.

1) Terrible policy, terms and conditions, and follow through of written policies from upper management of the branch. (They had all rights to waive any and/or all fees). 2) My account was dinged 59 overdraft fees on 59 $10 transactions. $320 was actually deducted from my account and paid to the merchants on my behalf. So I became responsible for 32 overdraft fees. $1184 in overdraft fees over $320 charged to the members of the credit union. That is roughly a profit to Members 1st of $900. 3) I had deposited funds to cover any and all transactions roughly 10 minutes after they processed through pending activity (I tried to beat the time frame I thought I had which was 11pm and they dinged at 5pm). I was literally 10 minutes too late (5:10pm deposit). My $1200 deposit was basically taken away by fees. $16 of the deposit went towards any of the charges on my plate. 4) Upper management did not honor the mistake of timing. They accepted a $900 profit of my mistakes. 5) Credit Unions are ran and funded by members. Mostly on interest rates. They are tax exempt entities, unlike banks. They claim to be “Not-For-Profit”. They profited $900 on my behalf. I paid back everything to the members of the union 10 minutes after they were “affected”. 6) Almost all other banks and/or credit unions have maximum overdraft fees per business day. Most are 4-5 overdraft fees MAX on any given business day. This “bank”went 8x’s (literally was 14x's to begin with) that rate on me. 7) This whole issue is totally unjust and very inconsiderate on the upper management of the branch. The terms say they have the rights to waive any and/or all fees. They hardly helped me out at all... 8) The First thing they did to fix the issue, is all that they did for the matter! Even after 7 days of waiting for a return phone call. In conclusion, stay far away from this “bank” their policies are unjust and upper management left me high and dry when I was 10 minutes late on my funds being deposited. Look elsewhere to local banks such as PNC bank, or M&T bank because they do have Maximum Overdraft Fees per Day!
We have appreciated the opportunity to discuss this matter with you over the past several days. We have heard your frustrations, and have taken steps to help resolve your issue. If you have further concerns, please use the contact that was previously provided to you.

Fantastic People, Great Location. I thoroughly enjoy banking here - they helped us figure out numerous types of accounts (business and personal checking and savings, as well as Lines of Credit and Credit Cards), are extremely responsive, and very pleasant to work with on a day to day basis.

Very disappointed in this members 1 st. The hours says the lobby is open. I arrived at about 11:30am and the lobby is closed. Nowhere does it say that they are closed on the Internet. Cumberland county is in the yellow phase of Covid-19 which means the lobby should be open!
Hi Mark Hoskinson, we are sorry to hear about your experience. Effective Monday, November 23, our branch lobby access temporarily returned to "by appointment only" as we follow social distancing protocols issued by health officials.
