I read a few of the negative comments, while mistakes happen the borrower is responsible for reviewing and signing off on the mortgage. With that said, Matt and his team went above and beyond. Communication was excellent and answered all questions. A true professional and a pleasure to work with. I highly recommend and we will not be using anyone else in the future!

I am very disappointed at Mathew and carDinal financial. I refinanced my house through them and never asked for any changes to be made from the previous loan that I had. Mathew by not even running by me changed the mortgage loan by making me only borrower when it should have been myself and one of my parents just as the previous loan was . Unfortunately I didn’t notice the mistake until I received the 1098 form . Mathew ignored my phones calls and my emails until I gave him a 1 star review. His answer to me was sorry and that nothing could be changed at this point unless I would like to refinance the house and pay the closing costs which would not be beneficial to me at this point. His mistake would cost me a financial hardship and pay for a mistake made by him. I have emails were I clearly stated that no changes should be made and showed it to him . His apology was not even an apology but very arrogant and didn’t even care . No I would not recommend him and is so unfair that in cases like this nothing can be done to people who take full advantage to borrowers like me. There should repercussions and a solution should be offered instead of just a simple sorry . Disappointed and very dissatisfied.

I feel bad seeing all these positive reviews- but when mistakes are made that cost a customer thousands - consumers should be made aware . Matt and his team seemed to have my mortgage handled - despite the rate creep of over one full percent over the month of closing, but what really prompted me to write this review was an error - which they have admitted in writing but made no attempt to offer any recourse - that cost me over $10,000 ! At closing , I was handed a different final CD (closing disclosure ) that showed a $9970 loan payoff that was not on any other CD’s . It was described to me by my attorney , that in order to close that day ,a vehicle loan which was paid for by my business, was being “paid off” as part of the requirement to close . This was not the case originally —as a 12 month paper trail had been provided to cardinal showing that the vehicle loan was actively paid for by my company . Well, that was fine until - and I quote - “someone must have accidentally checked the wrong box “ before closing and I was liable to pay my company vehicle off the day of closing- or be forced to be in breach of contract with the sellers of my house . Upon my call to Matt at the literal closing itself I was told there was nothing that could be immediately done and that they’d have to go back and make some changes - which would have forced a delay in the closing and put me in breach of contract with my very impatient sellers . As a result , and with pen in hand, I felt forced to close despite the error , and now am forced to make financial compensation to myself Through my business to reimburse this large expense . Matt’s apology was half hearted at best , and actually blamed me in the end , which I felt was extremely disrespectful and inconsiderate. In an attempt to gather facts I tried accessing my Octane account to see where along the mistake was made , only to find my access revoked ! Several attempts to contact cardinal financials customer advocacy line have been met with a run around , and basically I am Left with a $10,000 mistake on an already expensive home closing . Of course people make mistakes but they don’t usually have 4 digits in them, and when they do, you’d think they’d try to make good on it - not a word from Matt or anyone from Cardinal financial since the closing - really disappointing! Needless to say they deserve this 1 star review - they really had to work for this one and they got it . See attached email admitting their mistake with absolutely no resolution offered whatsoever . Hope this review will allow for some sort of contact to be made on behalf of Matt or cardinal financial, with some sort of professional explanation on how this happened and why . A total disappointment!

There are not enough positive words in the world to describe how phenomenal Matt and his team at Cardinal Financial are. We had a very short window to obtain financing and close on my dream home, and his team was just amazing. They helped me lock in an amazing rate, provided me a ton of information so I understand everything, answered all my questions and we are remarkably efficient. I cannot recommend them enough.

The team is very courteous, efficient and professional. You only have to upload your documents one time and they keep the process moving forward and never have to ask 2 or 3 times for the same document. You are informed every step of the way. Matt & team are truly the BEST!!!!!

We worked with Matt the first time we bought our home and recently to refinance. Once again, working with Matt was simple and easy. Matt and his team were great! They always responded quickly to our calls,texts and emails. At the beginning of the pandemic, we reached out to Matt and told him where we stood. We explained our situation and asked his advise. He could have easily fed us some BS, tried to lock us into something, but he didn't. He took his time and explained the pros and cons to everything we asked. Matt and his team are simply the BEST. Matt has been loyal to my husband and me for the last 4 years (you read that right - FOUR years). There were a few times we were seriously ready to buy our first home then a life event happened that put home ownership on the back burner. EVERY time we were ready again, Matt was ready, willing and able to guide us, support us, and help us through the process. Whether it was running numbers on potential houses or informing us on how to better prepare for home ownership, he was there every phone call and email at all hours that worked for US (2 babies under 2.5 years old can make for some pretty weird quiet hours to speak to a professional).
