Mariner is decent. It has its pros and cons. To everybody complaining about the collateral and the APR They're not here to do you a favor, they're here to make money. So of course the APR is going to be high and of course they're going to want collateral. If you don't have a car, they will take anything just to fill in the blanks. They literally wrote up my cat tree as collateral ... I am not making that up 🤣LOL. They will work with you and make the whole process pretty easy. The fact is, I had 10 grand in my account within two days... I paid it off early with no problem

This company was great the first time around, I had nothing but rave reviews and recommend them to several people. I pretty much paid my account off early and needed some extra money, Covid has been things a little hard. I received a letter and many emails saying I qualified for new loan, I even received a call from someone who asked if I wanted to refinance my loan. Not understanding who was calling me I asked again who is this, she said she was from Mariner Finance and maybe I don’t remember them because I was so far ahead on my loan. The woman on the other end said I can get you x amount of money today, I said no thanks I’m ok and we hung up. Yesterday I called to talk to someone about the call I had received I think her name was Brittney or Bethany she said she did not know who or why that call was made but it was not true, I was so confused and I asked if I had to run my credit again, she said yes; I responded that I didn’t want to do that I don’t like to run my credit if I don’t have to. Well today I decided that I needed a little help and decided to go through the process again, today it was much different, now they want collateral, you didn’t ask for Collateral the first time why now, I only owe a very small amount and I have pretty much paid this off early, way early. This company should not be telling people one thing and then ask for collateral, you had no problem when I was making double payments and some times a couple payment a month. If this is how they are going to treat a good paying customer, I can only imagine how they would treat a not so good customer. Beware before you take a loan.

I really am not happy how loan companies keeps pushing for customers to put a car, or anything up for collateral for a larger loan, over and over. When a customer says NO, the 1st time, don't keep asking if they want more money!!!! This is the end of my association with this company!!

Mariner Finance has been very helpful and professional throughout the loan process. They take the time to explain anything and everything to you if, there is anything that is unclear. Very attentive to your needs and work around your schedule. The only thing that I may see as a negative, are the high interest rates. But, with the types of loans they handle, it is not totally unexpected. Overall, a great experience dealing with them.
