My wife and I just left this branch and the customer service was excellent. The previous review gave me pause but we wanted to support an African-American owned establishment and it’s longevity impressed us both. Ms. Shelia was superb in her customer service. She made sure we were aware of all options when choosing the account that fit our needs. We will definitely recommend this bank to friends and family.

Shelia, Shelia, Shelia!! Terrible customer service, no follow-up calls,, answers the phone chewing and eating in your ear. She is so unprofessional! Even lies from the manager. I called myself supporting this Black owned bank, be mistake! I had to give them the one star.

was considering on putting my business into this bank but after reading several complaints about customer service and " Shelia" continuously though recent and past reviews I have decided to find another black owned bank with adequate customer service.

I had heard about the Internet push to put more money into the black community by putting money into banks within the community. So I went to M&F Bank today to open a new account and do my small part. After 3 people told me someone would be right with me, 10 min. later I hadn't been approached although employees were milling around all around me (I was the only customer aside from 1 at a teller). As I got up to leave no one even said a word. Disappointing...

Mechanics and Farmers Bank has always responded professionally and personably to all of my banking needs. I love this bank!

So I tried several times to contact them about my debit card that will expire at the end of July. No reply. No one cares and they blame it on covid. It's them! They are nothing but liars. They tell you one thing and turns out to be another just to get you off their back. I am thinking about switching to a credit union. I am tired of chasing them down for a response. It is getting old fast.

Havent had any really bad experiences before today, besides a certain member service agent (shelia....not a people person)that seems to be there every time i go . I went in today to request some statement copies and was greeted with being told i could do this myself.....which is fine but im in front of you now. Then i was told that she was doing a project and she could get it in an hour or so. Upon leaving i told her id be back thru in an hour ( because ive had this done before at multiple bank branches over the years and it takes all of 10 mins) she tells me "i can maybe get started on it in an hour) hold up am i not the customer? Shouldnt i be helped first and foremost? Strike one M&F

Horrible horrible horrible! Eve since I opened an account here there has been so many inconsistencies and the customer service is ridiculous, especially "Shelia", she has NO customer etiquette. I opened an account here because it was Black owned but I am almost ready to leave. I have to drive quite a distance to get here, I don't know if its worth it. They hardly amsers the phone bit when you go inside they are huddle together talking. Signed, So upset New customer

Opening an account was fast and easy. I highly recommend this historic bank.
