I wish I could give them no stars. William M. filed my family's taxes for the years 2020 and 2021. In our first encounter with Mr. Mayer, he put my bank account number in the system wrong and instead of apologizing he claimed that WE wrote it down wrong, so we had to call the IRS and figure out another way to get our refund. Then for the year 2021 Mr. Mayer said that he didn't want to go through that situation again so HE signed us up to get our refund in the form of a check when we wanted it deposited straight to the bank. Come to find out, they get more of our money if our refund comes in the form of a check..hmm, interesting enough that was never mentioned by Mr. Mayer, but it says in the contract that we didn't get to read until after we had already signed everything. He also was supposed to honor Liberty Tax's rule of paying us $50 to get our taxes done with them within the grace period but did not, but he made sure to put down on paper that he did give us those $50, which he probably kept for himself. FRAUD! FRAUD!! FRAUDULENT!!

Run far, far away from this place!! William is a fraud and does NOT know how to properly file taxes! He filed our taxes incorrectly and due to his incompetence, we did not receive the proper child tax credit amount. He is unprofessional and rude. If you care about getting your refund correctly filed the first time, go elsewhere!

This is the best tax preparation service. The owners are exceptional, as a pastor, they specialize in clergy taxes and are very honest and reliable.

I went to this Liberty Tax office on Friday, 4/12/19. I usually file online, but I was running late this year, I passed them on my way home from work, and my grandmother had recommended this specific location to me before because their prices were reasonable (she paid $50 last year), so I decided to stop in. Mistake. First off, the place was filthy. Looked like it hadn't been cleaned in quite a while. I was tempted to leave right then, but they weren't busy and I really wanted to get my taxes done. The cleanliness of the place wouldn't affect my taxes anyway, so I stayed. I sat down at the first desk, filled out the paperwork, etc., and waited about 15 minutes for the agent to finish. When he was done, he scribbled a bunch of numbers on a sticky note, set it to the side, then scribbled more numbers on another sticky note. He then slid it across the desk to me and said "The first amount is your total refund, the second amount is our fees, and the third amount is your remaining refund." I looked at the sticky note and about choked, because their supposed "fees" were $565. Five hundred and sixty-five dollars. I make barely above minimum wage. I qualify for low-income credit. I do not make a ton of money, but this guy was trying to charge me $565 for my taxes when I can do them online for $60. When I asked him why it was so high, he said it was the corporate office's prices and there was nothing he could do about it. I told him I couldn't pay that and went to leave. He asked me to hold on, did some typing on his computer, and then magically offered me a 40% discount that would bring the amount down to $401 instead of $565. Firstly, 40% of $565 is not $401. It's $339. Secondly, he had just told me he couldn't do anything about the prices, but then managed to pull this discount out of nowhere? What? The whole thing was so sketchy it was unbelievable, so I thanked him for his time and left. I then went home and did my taxes online with H & R Block for $59. After this experience, I called my mom and told her about it. My parents used to own their own business, so I wanted her feedback on the amount he tried to charge me. She was dumbstruck by it. She told me the most they ever paid to get their taxes done - as a business that made thousands of more dollars than I ever have - was $350. So, yeah. The moral of this story is to never file with Liberty Tax, because they will try to rip you off. I wouldn't recommend them to anybody, ever.
