Wouldn't let me cash a check issued at their own bank without exorbitant fees. I have no idea how that makes any sense, and the daft expressions and vapid responses from Larry the clerk crushed my hopes for humanity much less the bankers here. Take your business and money elsewhere.

Even in cases where the check written out is by a KeyBank client, we have to charge a small fee to the recipient cashing the check if they do not have an existing relationship with KeyBank. Very friendly staff, but overall this bank is one of the worst I’ve dealt with in terms of fees; I was charged over $50 in fees for simply letting a checking account sit unused for a few months while abroad. Please, look elsewhere for your banking needs!!

After a frustrating couple days, the bankers went the extra mile to help me find a solution to make a deposit of cash when no atm or branch was near me.

This is not an immediate process and does take a few days. How you deposit the paper item (branch, atm or app) has no bearing on if a hold may have to be placed. There is no hold on direct deposits of course as those funds don't have to be collected first.
